💼 Careercow Anthony Cumia - A once successful radio host crashes and burns, turning on all his fans and the drama around it

As easy as it would be to blame Jimmy - the reality is most of the O&A were varying degrees of closeted homos from the very start and I don't think Anthony is any different - although he's 100% a product of the horrible environment he was raised in which is hilarious because Anthony's dad desperately didn't want him to be a queer and look at him now.
It's a DOLL, Ro!
Yeah Anthony always had incredibly faggy mannerisms, it was just harder to detect when you couldn't actually see him that often.
Just the way that he talked when he was drunk gave him away.
When a guy with a straya accent thinks you sound like a fag, you sound like a FAG.
For all his problems, Jimmy is funny. Even Opie could be really funny. That's what makes the whole breakup so sad: they could still do something really great if they learned to get along and got some of the Moxie back.
I guess I can't be your sock because I never found Jimmy funny. He was a disgusting ugly closeted gay pervert who relied way too much on an unfunny stolen jerky boys character Chip and his pedophile impression of Anthony called uncle Paul.
He sucked. Days where other comedians filled in for Jim were my favorite shows. You can actually hear in episodes like when Louis CK is asking Donald Rumsfield if he's a lizard alien that entire show Opie and Anthony are supposed to hate each other at that point but they are getting along swimmingly.
I always noticed that Opie would open up way more and be able to relax when Jimmy wasn't there. I don't think he hates Anthony, I think he hates Jimmy.
I think we would absolutely see a reunion between the two of them but never the three of them.
Even when he was there doing his fake tough guy routine or being infuriatingly clueless when Patrice and Anthony were talking about politics just drug
the show down.

Opie and Anthony's bad relationship predates Jimmy. Jimmy was brought in as third mic to salvage the show because O&A were on the brink of quitting.

Like I said it's just my opinion that when Jimmy wasn't there they got along better. Go listen to the episodes, you can actually hear it. Anything before 2012 when Jim is out for the day they get along better. After 2012 or whenever that grape fight was is when they hated each other no matter what.
Maybe he was brought into salvage the show but I think in the long run he drove the wedge between Opie and Anthony by acting like Anthony's boyfriend.
After Ant pulled his dick out of Daniel Ross of course. :story:
Yeah I just never liked him that much though he just relied too much on trying to impress Anthony, acting like a fake tough guy and spamming those unfunny characters like a girl spamming buttons playing mortal kombat for the first time.
Don't get me wrong he had his moments I just don't think he was hot shit like most fans seem to think he was. I would take Patrice or mid 2000s Bill Burr over Jimmy any day.
Nick DiPaolo was the best though. Holy fuck his appearances were funny.

Jim was a great third mic, but that's it. His stand up is shit.
He was mediocre, but again that's just my opinion. I don't hold him anywhere near peak Anthony, he was too much of an annoying try hard. Everything he did was just trying to gross people out or spamming his same 3 unfunny characters or doing the fake tough guy act.
To be completely honest I feel exactly the opposite, I think his stand up was way better than his radio work. His specials made me laugh more because he was able to write out the jokes and craft them. On the radio he just sounded like a pick me girl for Anthony.

2001-2005ish Norton when he went off on idiot callers, and had quick tasteless quips of the most fucked up things (when Ant cued the Inappropriate Bell) was the best time to listen to as a Jimmy fan to like, his comedy alone back then equally 1up-ed both O&A's antics on terrestrial radio, until Jim went (soft)... gay. I admit, I maybe liked a few of the characters he did, but Chip & Uncle Paul was overdone to that point where it was just, "Ok Terrific!" levels of just get to the point without making every little missed joke uttered by the show or staff be exploited by those characters, I am sure when I listened to O&A back then as to now where I just feel that my level of humor has matured with age. Still never listened to a single episode of the Chip Podacast, though I've heard various feelings from others throughout the years that the Chip character just sucked and was overdone to that degree.

I rather prefer that early era Jim, to what he became now... A viking's fuck toy.

"It wasn't natural causes, Sam! This man's asshole was torn up by giant, Norwegian genitals. It ruptured his colon all the way to his stomach and caused internal bleeding. It was muyduh!"

Cumia (and, to a lesser degree, Norton) are living examples of how indulging one’s most base urges without restraint will absolutely destroy a person’s ability to achieve his full potential. Cumia seems incapable of self-examination or reflection, let alone any capacity to humble himself or admit error. He’s a giant coward and it’s hard not to be glad he’s living (dying) as a pathetic old rageaholic who’s bankrolling a manly bitch’s sad life just so he doesn’t have to die *alone.

* like his mother Ro did thanks to being abandoned by her sons as she lived through the terror of dementia in a facility, surrounded by complete strangers

I don't think Anthony ever got over being fired. Opie wasn't happy about being fired from Sirius, but he knows how the business goes and it wasn't the first time he got fucked. Plus, Opie was smart with his money. Jimmy has done hell gigs and bombed on stage multiple times, so he can handle failure. I'm not sure what Jimmy's finances are, but he's done enough work that he probably makes passive income through residuals.

Anthony, on the other hand, desperately clung to that radio job and thought that would be his life until retirement. He was a tin knocker for years, then fell into radio, and was (by his own admission) terrified about their move from WAAF to WNEW. Their famous "Mayor Menino is dead" stunt was intentional so they could move to WNEW, but Anthony was sweating bullets that they'd just get fired and he'd have to go back to industrial stapling and his cunt of a wife. Then him and Jimmy were both terrified after the St. Patrick's thing, but Opie was cool as a cucumber the whole time because they quickly negotiated with XM and Infinity was required to pay out the rest of their contract. Even Jimmy commented later that he was really nervous about this and Opie repeatedly, and correctly, told him that everything would be okay.

Then Anthony was high on the hog until he went on that Twitter rant, which no one could save him from because he did it when everyone from the show was asleep. Opie told management to wait it out but Anthony refused to take any responsibility, blames Opie to this day, and is trying desperately to reclaim that radio talk show host title. He can't admit he fucked up and just get over it.

Edit to add: one more thing all three agree on is Ant's wife was a cunt. Anthony, however, was always angry that Opie continued to be friends with some of Jennifer's friends post-divorce. Being the little boy that he is, Anthony expected full loyalty from Opie.

Cumia has remained downright proud of the fact that he cheated on his wife. Of course he still sees himself as a victim.
I'm not saying it's right, because it's not, but their marriage was destined to fail. He basically married the first bar fly who would say yes.

His own brother’s sloppy seconds, too. Absolute degenerate.

Brother Joe is going to Hackmania too. I hope someone has “plans” for him.

As of late last year Dr. Steve says she is still alive and in a nursing home with dementia

I hope nothing happens. Nothing was more deserved than Anthony doing his book tour and no one showing up.

UH BIG AAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

One thing I always got a kick out of was how both O&A and R&F picked on Stalker Patti. O&A didn't know what to do with Big A, but R&F did some of the funniest fucking bits with him. I have sat through hours of Ron and East Side Dave/Centaur Hicks shouting "BIG A" at everything while Fez plays the heel.
