Because his original thread doesn't have to be open. He has a whole board dedicated to discussing him. His actions over the years negated the discussion of him being relegated to just a mere thread. It now requires multiple threads to discuss what is going on with him. His original thread is only open on rare occasions when certain information gets posted there.
