The Cringe is real!

Looks like Daniel Clarke-Pounder, who set himself on fire using Molotov cocktails on some charging stations, is getting out on bond. His attorney notes his struggles with bi polar disorder and he was not taking his meds. Also the prosecution mentioned a letter he wrote supporter Luigi, and the hope his actions would spur more nonviolent acts.

A James Island man accused of setting three Tesla EV charging stations on fire in North Charleston will receive bond, a federal magistrate judge ruled March 17.

Daniel Brendan Clarke-Pounder, 24, is facing a federal charge of arson involving property used for interstate commerce after a masked man, in an apparent act of politically motivated violence, torched a bank of Tesla charging stations on March 7 near Mellow Mushroom on Tanger Outlet Boulevard.

During a preliminary and detention hearing, Clarke-Pounder's lawyer, Patrick Chisholm, disclosed his client had a family history of mental illness and that he had been unmedicated for bipolar disorder at the time of the arson. Clarke-Pounder had stopped taking his medication about five months prior to federal law enforcement arresting him.

Chisholm and assistant U.S. Attorney Cole Shannon outlined and read from a letter they said Clarke-Pounder wrote in which he said the murder of a health care CEO, allegedly by Luigi Mangione, seemed justifiable in a way. In that case, Mangione, 26, is accused of stalking UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York City in December and shooting him on the street.
The letter allegedly penned by Clarke-Pounder acknowledged his actions were extremist and that he hoped it would motivate others to commit lesser acts of nonviolent protest, Chisholm said.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Mary Gordon Baker granted Clarke-Pounder's request for pretrial release from the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center. She said her decision stemmed from his history of mental illness and lack of a prior criminal record.
"I'm counting on you to make sure he gets on his meds," Baker said to Clarke-Pounder's family.

Baker set bond at $10,000 cash. She placed him under strict house arrest and made his mother third-party custodian of him to ensure he showed up to court and sought psychiatric therapy for his bipolar disorder.
Federal agents detailed probable cause in accusing Clarke-Pounder of throwing six Molotov cocktails at the stations after spray-painting "(expletive) Trump, Long Live Ukraine" in front of them.

Security footage at Tanger Outlets showed a Chrysler van pull into a parking lot before 6 p.m. March 7, according to a complaint. A masked man got out and walked toward the outlet mall at 6:10 p.m., then headed toward Tanger Outlet Boulevard at 6:50 p.m. carrying a six pack of bottles and wearing blue gloves.

At the scene of the vandalism, video appeared to show the man hurling the flaming bottles at the stations, according to the complaint by Jordan Griffin, an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Local police and fire officials also investigated.

Around 7:15 p.m., the alleged perpetrator was seen running across the parking lot to the van. Security footage captured an image of an unmasked man who appeared to be Clarke-Pounder, according to the complaint.
Law enforcement arrested him on March 13 and found clothing matching that seen on the man in security footage, according to a federal complaint.

Police also found a letter inside the man's wallet containing anti-government sentiments that discussed Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency, according to the complaint. A similar, three-page letter was also found in a notebook inside Clarke-Pounder's apartment, according to the complaint. Copies of those letters were filed under seal in federal court but portions were read during the hearing on March 17.

Clarke-Pounder has not been indicted. Conviction of a federal arson charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Damages to the stations were estimated at $60,000.
Don’t think this patriotic dude was caught yet, I’m sure the insurance knows at least.

Edit: Several more cars set ablaze in Vegas!

EDIT: IT’S HAPPENING!!!
Pam Bondi said the thing!

Attorney General Pam Bondi on Tuesday labeled a recent spate of attacks on Tesla dealerships across the country as acts of “domestic terrorism” directed at Elon Musk, as Trump allies have pressured the Justice Department to take aggressive action.

In recent weeks, vandals in apparent protest of Mr. Musk’s polarizing efforts to drastically shrink the federal government and fire government workers have defaced or destroyed Tesla vehicles and damaged buildings in several cities. No serious injuries have been reported.

Five more vehicles at a Tesla facility in Las Vegas were damaged on Tuesday in what the local authorities said was a targeted attack.
“The swarm of violent attacks on Tesla property is nothing short of domestic terrorism,” Ms. Bondi wrote in a statement. “We will continue investigations that impose severe consequences on those involved in these attacks, including those operating behind the scenes to coordinate and fund these crimes.”

THEY’RE GONNA DO THE CHARGES FOR TERRO-

There is no federal domestic terrorism law, so those charged in the attacks would be charged under other federal statutes; Ms. Bondi did not specify what charges could be brought, but she said that if convicted, some of those accused could face sentences of at least five years in prison.
Oh. 😐
Well then.

It's kind of funny that a substantial component of the 'people dumb enough to buy a Tesla' demographic are jeets and leftist Jews who did so back when Elon was a liberal cause célèbre, and who are now getting their tires slashed and whatnot by deranged libtards.

I do fully support vandalism of cybertrucks for the same reason that I support vandalism of shitty brutalist buildings and overpriced ghetto sneakers (for the especially courageous). In a perfect world, badly designed shit in public spaces would be the #1 target of domestic terrorism. They're eyesores.

Teslas are symbols of the enemy now. People using peer pressure and outright violence to remove those symbols... Coming close to invoking Godwin's Law here, but pretty much every 20th century dictatorship had some form of civilian/non-government movement that did exactly these kinds of things to put pressure on the population. Those were put in place by the regimes themselves, so the comparison isn't too good, but still, given that people cry about Musk being a Nazi, they do like to adapt their methods to some degree.

The domestic terror campaign continues in St. Petersburg, FL with an unidentified Woke-Quaeda fighter utilizing an Improvised Poop Device to crush the morale of the infidels. Inshallah surely Elon will suffer now.

In Canada where Tesla was just banned from the Vancouver International Auto Show, forces from the diehard insurgent group Last Generation deployed chemical weapons to viciously assault a Canadian dealership, brazenly unmasked and unafraid of counterterrorism retaliation.

Asmongold talked about the vandalism in a video. He mentions at the end that one guy tried to set telsa charging stations on fire and set himself on fire in the process. He didn't show a video and the source was just a tweet. Anyone have details on that? A news story? Pictures of the vandal?

That would be Daniel Clarke-Pounder of South Carolina. He is facing a maximum of 20 years and is currently out on bond because the judge was sympathetic to his struggles with mental illness and lack of criminal record. There is no video of the incident.
