Hope you guys don't mind the bump.
Music's actually one of my biggest interests, and although I'm more of a digital (thus the Yamaha chip in my pic) or composer person, I do play the piano and bass; both the upright and electric, although to no professional level.
For piano, my playing style can be described as eccentric. In spite of about 7 years' worth of formal training, I'm not very good at sight-reading, and I usually rely on playing by ear, twisting everything into a jazz-inspired mess full of 7th chords and incorporating plenty of improvisation, which is perhaps the one saving grace in my playing. I also like playing ragtime and some early rock, although I'm very bad at it for reasons mentioned above.
I usually play piano on my synthesizer, so I often use rhodes or organ patches in place of a piano - I've yet to actually properly play on an organ, but I love the instrument to pieces and hope I get to own one for myself one day. My playing, overall is influenced by Koji Kondo, Chick Corea, Scott Joplin and Jon Lord, amongst others.
As for bass, I've only been playing for 2 years now, and having been self-taught for a majority of it, I'm not too good at it, and I can't slap at all. I'm not bad, however, at coming up with basslines almost spontaneously, and within a minute or two with a chord progression, I'm bound to come up with a pretty good bassline. My biggest inspirations are Kenichi Tokoi and Masato Nakamura - my aspiration to be as good as them one day.
