I play guitar and do vocals as well. As far as guitar, I play both electric and acoustic, just whatever the song is calling for. Played a lot of punk rock and metal when I was younger, but now I'm trying to extend my bounds and play all sorts of things. Funny enough, Janis Joplin is one of my musical influences too!

Vocalist here. Joan Jett, Janis Joplin, Pat Benetar, Kelly Clarkson, Jewel, and Sinead O'Connor are my influences. I also play piano, guitar, sax and flute. My genres extend to jazz, pop, blues, ska and rock. Glad to contribute, love!

Ayeeeeeeeeee. Such eclectic styles here on these boards. Good to know that the Farms draws all types. @Vodka's My BFF , so I take it that you're an alto or mezzo? If so I'd love to hear you sometime. I'm a soprano so a lot of the songs I wanna play are too low for me to sing, which is frustrating.

@Yog-Spergoth , punk rock YES PLS. Any specific types? Like, the whole british/sex pistols scene, or iggy pop? I've always liked the later stuff, right into the whole punk-pop scene.

Sigyn, my love, I actually sing between Tenor and Soprano. I'll post some of myself in the future just because you asked :) My audition for The Voice was Chandelier was Sia, so I'll post it ASAP
EDIT: Give me a bit to post. Searching for work unrealated, I'm actually quite busy XD

I played percussion for about 10 years and ended up playing trap for a jazz band through high school. Joined an African drum troupe in my first two years of college and really enjoyed it.

I play the mandolin well enough to do some covers of songs. My current buddy is in desperate need of a restringing and work, so I may just end up saving up for a new mandolin.

I play upright bass pretty well. I played that in Orchestra. I would jump back and forth between symphonic band and Orchestra a shit ton in high school, depending on what instruments were where.

Aaand I sing, though not so much anymore. I did quite a few musicals in high school and ended up being in Bernarda Alba my freshman year of college, but haven't flexed my singing muscles recently.

I'm finishing up a degree in classical piano right now, headed to grad school for musicology. I enjoy piano, but my true love musically is organ. I'm happiest at the console playing Bach, Brahms or Saint-Saens. Pictures/video sometime, maybe. ;)

I'm proficient in bass guitar (I prefer acoustic over electric), melodica, and synthesizer. I sing a decent bass (jazz or hymns usually). I'm learning guitar (slowly) and can fuck around on an accordion or recorder (tenor, sometimes soprano) when I feel like it. Once upon a time I was an excellent tubist but I've put that away as I got very, very bored with it.

Pianist here, I play it as a hobby but my preferred genre to play is classical like Moonlight Sonata and Arabesque #1.

I also have played flute for about 7-8 years, not as long as my 14 years of piano though. My only regret is I am awful at improv.

My musical influences are Charles Debussy and, weirdly enough, Yoko Shimomoura.

My family has had an 1820 Steinway with ivory keys passed down for a long time, when I get my own place that'll be mine but until then I have my Yamaha. I'll post pictures next week when I'm on break if anyone wants to see.

I played the saxophone for a while. Don't bother asking which one, because the answer is "yes". I own a Vito alto sax, a Vito tenor sax, and a Selman soprano sax (would not recommend Selman, it's cheap, Chinese shit; I only paid $200 for it off my cousin). I played for about 5 years, starting in elementary school and ending after my sophomore year of high school; I was in a jazz ensemble for about three years, starting in middle school with two years spent on the alto sax and my last year spend on the tenor. There are some videos on Youtube of a performance my middle school ensemble did at MTSU when I was in the eighth grade, but I don't feel like looking them up and sharing.

I own a few other instruments; note that I said "own", because I don't consider myself good enough at them to say that I "play" them. I have seven decent diatonic harmonicas, which I had been collecting for a while; I'm looking for a decent tremolo harmonica, or a good chromatic one. Then I also have a plastic ocarina, a blue alto Focalink I bought off Amazon a couple years ago; it sounds decent, I use it mostly to annoy my dogs. Then I also have a recorder, which is an ancient relic saved from my days in primary school; I think was about seven or eight when I had to learn how to play the damn thing. I still remember how to play it, too.

I've also got a few stringed instruments. I've got a violin I recently restrung, but the problem is I can't seem to get it tuned; I might have to take it to a luthier or something to see if I did anything wrong in the stringing process. I also have a mandolin that currently has only three strings; there was something wrong with the nuts that adjust the bridge, so I removed the strings, fixed it, and started replacing them until I got frustrated and stopped. Another thing I might have to bring to a luthier, because I don't really have time to finish replacing the strings. I do have an electric guitar, which I assume was bought from some place that wasn't a music store at first, but the guys I bought it from had it refurbished with better pickups and better strings; I need to learn how to play it better at some point. The other stringed instrument I have is a viola, which I've grown too afraid of tuning, because every time it seems I have the right pitch on one string the other three strings don't want to be at their proper pitch. That's pretty much why I haven't tried practising the viola.

Then I have my melodicas. My glorious wind pianos, one 32-key from Hohner and the other a 37-key from Hohner. Now if I had the money to get an actual piano or keyboard, I would, but I'm happy with my melodicas.

Edit: Bagpipes, too.

So after struggling mightily to play the rather simple solos in Ghost's "Ritual" via tabs, I am definitely hesitant to say I "play" a musical instrument. Still, practice, practice, practice.

I produce music in digital audio workstations, my soundcloud is here. As far as real instruments go, I play somewhat decent drums and keyboards to an extent. I also write shitty rap, but I like it (Y).

Update from my previous post, my family's 1820s Steinway.

Hope you guys don't mind the bump.
Music's actually one of my biggest interests, and although I'm more of a digital (thus the Yamaha chip in my pic) or composer person, I do play the piano and bass; both the upright and electric, although to no professional level.

For piano, my playing style can be described as eccentric. In spite of about 7 years' worth of formal training, I'm not very good at sight-reading, and I usually rely on playing by ear, twisting everything into a jazz-inspired mess full of 7th chords and incorporating plenty of improvisation, which is perhaps the one saving grace in my playing. I also like playing ragtime and some early rock, although I'm very bad at it for reasons mentioned above.
I usually play piano on my synthesizer, so I often use rhodes or organ patches in place of a piano - I've yet to actually properly play on an organ, but I love the instrument to pieces and hope I get to own one for myself one day. My playing, overall is influenced by Koji Kondo, Chick Corea, Scott Joplin and Jon Lord, amongst others.

As for bass, I've only been playing for 2 years now, and having been self-taught for a majority of it, I'm not too good at it, and I can't slap at all. I'm not bad, however, at coming up with basslines almost spontaneously, and within a minute or two with a chord progression, I'm bound to come up with a pretty good bassline. My biggest inspirations are Kenichi Tokoi and Masato Nakamura - my aspiration to be as good as them one day.

Hey! That's pretty cool. I know that sight-reading feel. I have trouble with rhythm when sight reading, but I can read the notes. What kind of digital music do you make? As for Organs, Good LUCK! Those things are so huge and noisy, you'd have to move into a country mansion to not get noise complaints.

Thanks! I've been playing a bit more live (mostly on bass) for the past year or so, so thankfully my reading's been getting much better, though it's still nowhere near good, especially on piano.

I make all kinds of music (in my book, anyway), though most of it is inspired by early VGM. I've done an album or two's worth of original music (one I was in the middle of redoing until I put it on hold), some experiments with chiptune and a bit of work for some fanmade projects here and there. Most recently I've been working on two projects mostly - I'm arranging some music for an indie game, written by the game's main developer, and remaking the Super Mario 64 soundtrack by Koji Kondo. As of late, my music's been mostly influenced by Kondo's inspirations - early rock, jazz fusion, ragtime and bossa nova, to be specific - though I'm also influenced by a tiny bit of house, all other kinds of jazz, funk, 90s' J-pop and Japanese music in general.
Here's something I did a while back - I'm especially proud of this one!

I know, but I just love them too much! I'll probably have to get an electric one, and most likely a digital remake at that. I've been looking into the Korg BX3, and I think I'd be happy with it, although the problem, in that case, would be affording one in the first place. I'm currently making do with the patches my synths and software have, although if I ever got the opportunity, I'd get myself a real one in a heartbeat.

I play trombone and play in a church orchestra on Sunday.

I took violin lessons a few years ago and would like to get back into playing it. I also have a cheap harmonica and recorder, but haven't really bothered to learn how to play them.

If I ever get a job and have some discretionary income I'd like to learn piano and acoustic guitar.

Hot dang, you play the accordion? That's amazing. I've always found people who play instruments that aren't exactly popular really interesting. What made you pick it up?
