Anyone else sees Nintendo as predatory? - And other large game companies as well

Haven't seen a recent thread about all the bullfuckery Nintendo has done (maybe because I'm the only one that cares). I respect their craftsmanship, but the business actions they take are questionable at best.

Nintendo recently sent a cease-and-desist to The Big House, organizers of a SSBM tournament. Due to the 'rona, the tournament organizers were forced to move online and use a program called "Slippi", which made it possible to play Melee online. That program is the reason why Nintendo sent a C&D to the tournament organizers in the first place. I don't play Smash games like that nor do I know much about the tournament organizers, but it just seems very unnecessary for Nintendo to shut down operations of a game that's legal to fuck.

I guess if you have your two cents on game companies DMCA'ing their fans (or maybe the opposite in which they encourage fanmade content), post below. Also, I'm a newfag, so sorry if I offended the culture of this place by doing sumn dumb or retarded.

Nintendo is predatory because they don't want people raising awareness of emulator programs? Not on my life.

The only predatory thing Nintendo has done recently was Mario Kart Tour and we all know well enough to stay away from that piece of shit.

Yeah but unlike Whole Foods, Nintendo actually is in a league of its own above the competition.

The Switch has proven to me they're no more competent than their competitors in any area other than marketing. While a handheld/home console hybrid is a neat idea, the inflated prices of their controllers since launch, major drifting issues existing on every controller they've manufactured since 2017 and their refusal to acknowledge that, and a lack of any sort of quality moderation for their digital games store is ridiculous. They also removed any personality from their System UI that used to exist and it now basically just looks like mobile Xbox. Plus multiple of their franchises have begun to lose quality and fast.
