So in the pve lobbies, the only thing they killed was arc. And when everyone is teaming up to kill arc, of course arc are not really a big threat.
now that you mention it, it does feel like there are way more arcs in the pvp lobbies. like i guess people in pve really are just acting like rangers and spawn camping the drones.

Ok how about we change gears here, instead of running across the map on Dam and getting Rocketeered, if you spawn on the other side, shift your goal to other materials or Arc, and despite being called a tard for it, smoke do work on Arc... However if they've already queued up a shot they will fire at last known location.

Leapers die to flame nades and can't get into small building.
Bastions can, with time be taken out with a ferro, namely shooting the yellow joints till the leg breaks, then while stunned you shoot it's back oil filter till it's back falls out, it takes like 5x damage to the glowing center that is now exposed.
Bombadiers are incredibly dangerous but are rather low hp the trick is being far enough away that it doesn't fire straight at you but instead straight up and you have cover over your soft head.
Sentinels spawn more frequently in night raids, Buried City and Dam have quite a few.

I suggest, Null, to upgrade the refiner first and then the gun bench, then you can upgrade guns and outfit them with weapon mods.
The A.I. is predictable and abusable, Rocketeers patrol specific areas (night or other whether change this) going to the Hydroponics in the Dam can get you fucked by the Rocketeer there, maybe cross the map in the tunnel under the Dam proper?

So after playing for a bit on the new update, I can say with a high degree of certainty that they did in fact change the rocketeer behavior. Pretty much all the flying arc are more aggressive now, it seems.

edit to add:
I feel like a lot of the pvp/pve bitching would stop if they'd just implement either a flag system or separate lobbies. You want PVE? Click that setting and get loaded into matches where players can't hurt one another; at best they could grief and call ARC down on people. You want PVP? Click that setting and enjoy your bloodbath and competitive shootyshoot. Everyone would get to enjoy their mustard or their ketchup and everyone could look down the other peacefully.
Disagree. Trying to appeal to everyone ends up appealing to no one, or becoming slop. The game launched to massive success with strict pvpve, which is what fuels the tension in matches. The pvp people are for damn sure not the ones complaining which led to aggression based matchmaking. It's clear the pve people are just trying to force the game to be something it's not. IE., Helldivers, or Deeprock.

It's not pvp or pve. It's both. Just play a different game and stop trying to ruin something unique.

ADVICE FOR NEW RAIDERS: Keep those springs. You will be needing them a lot later on. Cooling Coils, Turbo Pumps (Only salvage/recycle when topside), Spring Cushions, Ruined Accordions & Rusted Tools (The latter two have to be recycled at home to get the springs) are ways to get them.

Rocketeers have always been the worst ones to deal with since because they fly, that it makes them able to get around places that other ground based arcs can't so you don't have much time for breathing room.

Best way to deal with Rocketeers is to use Lure Grenades, throw them somewhere and either run far away enough to lose their aggro or get into cover where they can't drift around. Cloak is also a good way to deal with them for evasion.

There are two things people haven't mentioned yet with dealing with them and one is a Hornet Driver. Hornet drivers unlike showstoppers will always fry things when it's in the air till it lands or gets destroyed so you have a better chance of stunning the Rocketeer with it than showstoppers. It's still hard though since Rocketeers are in the air and never truly stay still so it's not the best.

The other one that people don't know much is that you can fuck with the rocketeer's aiming if you hit the thrusters at the right time with a weapon that causes it to wobble like the Anvil. When the laser from it's eye starts locking on to you, shoot at one of the thrusters and it will wobble enough to miss. Bear in mind that this does not work when they do the three round burst fire of rockets at you.

And if you are a crazy and it's close enough. You can snap hook on to it. Just be aware that you will most likely die if you fall off when it goes back up into the sky and starts moving about. Of course the worst part is getting off it safely and you will need to know how to use the snap hook properly and luck in finding something to latch onto.

Also the weakness of a Rocketeer is not the thrusters but rather the middle part above it's eye. You will notice the kind of eyebrow shaped metal that a undamaged rocketeer has. Break it off and continue shooting the middle part of the Rocketeer above the eye.

In other news, I got hotshot in the trails and from what I've seen it needs a proper rehaul because it is too far skewed for Trios, such that even the number one, two and three spot of the leaderboard for the top rank have names making out "FIX, TRAILS, EMBARK" Would make sense for points to only apply to one person rather than the full group.

It's also a bastard to get a very high score only to die to another player when you have spent a long time getting resources to craft stuff to get a higher score. Wouldn't mind so much if I didn't have to reach extraction too for it to count. With the wolfpacks now being nerfed to have to require Rocketeer drivers, it's going to get far more tedious from here on out for the big arcs in killing them quickly for a higher score.

I just killed two comets and neither of them had a special part on them. Some other raider I ran into later gave me one, told me I'd need it for the new project. What the fuck is happening?
So the thing with Comets is that they actually have two pieces that come off of them when they explode. The outer rim and the ball. The Ball has the part you are looking for.

They show up more often in husks during electrical storms too
Also first wave husks (The wasp and big four legged ones) and couriers can also potentially carry things like a Leaper Pulse unit so it's not a bad idea to go after them if you are looking for them

Fuck the Rocketeer, if I get caught by 2 or more SMALL drone enemies out in the open that could be a death sentence. It's for that reason the game has remained an 80% stealth playthrough for me 25 hours in as a solo.
I don't really have problems with dealing with drones like the Wasp or Hornet. The fans are very easy to shoot off with the Hornet being not bad when they are directly above you. They only become a problem when there are ground based arcs nearby to fuck with you. Just wait for them to line up, stop and then take them out and just sprint dodge roll the hornet. They also take an insane amount of damage when colliding with a solid object like a wall that they go down in one hit if they make contact with it.

Safe pockets are designed this way to make it not a total loss if you do end up dying to a player (Free loadouts aren't worth it IMO because they don't have safe pockets and you can make common grade weapons with just a few basic materials as well as simple utility stuff for healing and recharging shields)

And you should never, NEVER unholster your weapon or loot when other raiders are nearby. You are just asking for them to get a free hit on you. If you are downed, try and crawl to an Arc that can't be easily disposed of like a Leaper, Bastion, Bomber or a Rocketeer so they have no choice but to fight it or fuck off. There isn't a way to revive yourself right now (wish there was even if it takes a long time doing so) so not much you can do other than make them work for it unless you have the augment that if you stand still when downed, it very slowly heals you to 75% of your health. The downed skill perks are great for PVE but not much for PVP.

Take showstoppers and smoke grenades when you are out in the open and unsure. Use a doorblocker and a barricade kit to buy a lot of time if indoors to escape or flank them. Mines, Traps & Trigger nades are excellent for this since the Jolt mine has a 4 second stun period for Raiders and you will have your weapon ready to kill them. And you can scare them with a lure grenade if other arcs are nearby.

Also adrenalin shots. Take at least 10 with you since they are very cheap and easy to make.

The only grenade I haven't used is the Shrapnel Grenade because it requires Springs. I have no idea what it's like against players.

I'd say the main thing Shrapnels are good for is forcing people to move. It does quite a bit of damage but the main utility comes from forcing people to react and not hide behind cover.

that makes sense considering how many flying arcs you could one or two shot. its very rare to get hit if you shoot first and they're far enough away.

Going to rant about the Queen reactor because how the fuck are you supposed to grab one when every scrap of loot gets hoovered up .3 seconds after it blows up? About to start holding up rats at gunpoint here.
The confirmation of aggression based matchmaking existing kind of killed the game for me. I don’t want pvp or pve lobbies I want that social element of not knowing if someone’s going to be hostile or not.
Its not a guarantee. The algorithm is just noticing that you've spent X amount of time around other players without killing them and grouping you accordingly. You could still get jumped, its just less likely. I went like 8 games in a row peacefully and then got my head blown off by a ferro while fighting a Meteor.

Since I'm doing the expedition event now that I have 7 Million credits, finished all the quests, got all the perk content and done the trails with a Hotshot rank. I have been doing nothing but just shooting at big arcs with the Jupiter and Anvil then looting all the epic materials and placing them at the last remaining extraction like Arc Santa Claus.

The thing is that more PVP active lobbies will also have more active cheaters too and I have been for the most part in PVE lobbies and still get into gunfights occasionally. I think you will get a better result of not knowing if someone is going to shoot at you or not in PVE than in more PVP lobbies since you know that you will most likely get into gunfights like if you were doing Duos or Trios with people.

Parts of the Queen and Matriarch fall off over time that will have reactors. But the best bet to get them is too get really close when the Queen or Matriarch is about to explode so you have a better chance of getting them. It's very important to also figure out which part of the debris is lootable or not.

It's unlikely to a degree where it's better to get shot one match out of ten and probably lose nothing of importance, than to shoot players and get sent to Detroit. I don't think it should be as extreme as it seems to be now.

A fun way to play is to queue for solos, make a couple random friends topside, and then just lie and say the next random you see shot you and have your new friends take them out for you so you can stay in the carebear lobbies. :)

I need to pick this up. I've been watching my buddy play on xbox for the last couple of weeks, and it looks ridiculously fun.
GOOPSQUAD REPRESENT
Upon further reflection (about another 8 hours on my buddy's couch getting vicarious rage-induced hypertension in the last couple weeks) I've decided that this game has more vantablack niggers than the niggiest part of nigtown during the fried chicken, malt liquor and watermelon festival, and therefore probably isn't for me.

The absolute trashiest playerbase I've ever second-hand listened to. Pretty sure my buddy is gonna switch back to duty.

Honestly this is probably a result of the voice modulation option. I know I chose the setting that gives me the most niggerish voice possible.

What I said has nothing to do with voice, and everything to do with the content of their mushmouthed words. I should have said wannabe niggers, though. The screechiest prepubescents are the most obnoxious about trying to sound like real hardcore niggas, but it just sounds like a big, faggy unintentional joke.

Iy doesn't matter I kill them and take their shit, in duos especially, you can make friends with the reasonable players (whites) and kill the nigs

Yeah, there really are some great people, too. I've been really surprised by how cool some of the people he's encountered have been.

But the ratio sure seems a little on the dark or wannabe-dark side...
