vivaldi has been around for half a decade - it was created by one of opera software's co-founders (who left the company long before the ccp bought it out) and it's more or less the definitive browser for opera refugees. it's still fully dependent on google and i don't trust the dev team entirely, but it's still the only chromium-based browser i'd use as a daily driver (brave kinda sucks ass too). you get a decent fucking bookmarks manager and browser "themes" (they're really just palette swaps) and built-in tab orientation settings and shit, which are all nice but these are basic fucking features i'd expect from a browser aimed at powerusers, this shit should still be the norm. god i hate googleI didn't realize Palemoon was meant for XP, now I'm actually interested in it for a retrobuild.
I'm glad this thread warned me about Opera before I started using it heavily. I had just downloaded it a couple months ago. I do really like some of the features it has that made me download it, like pop-out video and the bookmark sidebar. Would anyone happen to know about options for browsers that are like Opera without the AIDS?
.50 cents a day to shitpost is like a 1 billion percent increase over the normal $0.00/hr I am paid to shitpost.
tldr it's ok i guess but it's no pale moon B-)
otter browser is supposed to be an opera 12 clone but it uses webkit, has no extensions and i think it's mostly just one dev's pet project but it's a fun curiosity at least. also opera 12.15's source got leaked a few years ago but i don't think anything came out of it
if he somehow sold enough kiwi shirts to fill a balkan state then maybe he'd be able to convert a ww2 bunker into a data center...Yep. Page loads, kicks me straight to captcha and when I click that, it dumps me to the unsupported browser. I wonder if he's now getting the browser info from cloudflare instead of his own site?
@Null are you still working on an alternative? I see the notification about it is gone.
