Vaccine or not... It's valid to want to protect yourself from the possible threat of getting the virus, while also being concerned about how these restrictions can be abused by the government. (Look at what happened with the "temporary" Patriot Act.)

My grandparents are ok for now. The vaccine gave them some issues but they are gone, knock on wood.

In my country, the Indian variant somehow got inside a old folks home. I wonder how that happens. Maybe people that traveled came to visit or something...
Weird thing is: the old people there were all vaccinated but still got this Indian variant and 1 already died. So there is some concern now, that the existing vaccine doesn't help against these other mutations.
The cafe's and restaurants all opened here since the 8th. The numbers stay the same and I hope it's gonna last, even tho the docs and nurses are telling us on tv everyday that they expect another wave to wash over.

And he's an advisor to a President who also has no power to enforce such a thing, even if it were actually best practices, and he's in a position to know what best practices are. But like any specialist, he's going to approach it from what would be optimal to his particular concern.

Every single mask mandate, lockdown, social distancing recommendation, or whatever, has come from STATE governments, municipalities, and in some cases, private business owners making their own rules specific to their own businesses.

The more I get pushed by family, MSM, celebrities, etc to get vaccinated, the less I want to do it. Was actually pretty on board in January with waiting a couple months to see what side effects correlated with each respective vaccine, but my enthusiasm gradually eroded over time as the vaccine became the new I Voted sticker among the "Trust the Experts" crowd. Just like the widespread adoption of facemasks a year ago, getting vaccinated quickly became less of a safety measure and more of a political statement.

I'm also just fucking baffled by the people who are vaccinated saying they will continue wearing masks indefinitely. If anything, that discourages anyone on the fence from getting the jab, because it suggests that nothing will change for the better if they do. Most people I know don't want to be wearing masks forever.

I thought I would be getting it, but now they have given me a letter saying I have an appointment in a few days. Didn't bother me much unil I saw them talk about it being the Pfizer vaccine. I have seen talk of how that one is associated with guys under 30 developing myocarditis especially after the second shot. I'm under 30, I'm a guy.
I think I will sit this one out. ATM I'm under quite a bit of stress, so I really can't be worrying if chest pain and palpatations is just stress/anxiety or something worse. There isn't much proof you will retain antibodies long term iirc, and if everyone else is getting vaccinated isn't that herd immunity? If hospitals turn people away with the "busy with covid" argument, then why the fuck am I going to risk putting myself in hospital?

Yes I got my first dose yesterday and will get a second one next month on the 11th. I’ve heard that don’t trust the Johnson & Johnson one. And for the side note my family got it and they made me get it and I can’t say no to them

I got my first shot on the 5th (Pfizer) and waiting on my second. I’m not going to pretend that I wasn’t anxious/worried about potential side effects, but I felt absolutely fine after, even well enough to hang out with a friend later that same day. The only thing that sucked was that my arm hurt like a bitch the day after, but that’s really not a big deal.
It’s normal to worry about side effects, especially with such a new and untested vaccine, but personally the studies and data I’ve seen on the serious, long-term effects Covid can have on someone’s health worries me far more. I know it’s gay and all, but I made sure to do some breathing exercises before I got mine and it helped a lot. Expecting something bad to happen can really go a long way towards convincing your brain something bad IS happening.

There was a German study that recently came out showing that the anti-body response for people who had it naturally was stronger than the vaccine. iirc it was specifically looking at the recent indian variant. Too lazy to find it and link it :shrugs: it's out there.

I had the first shot of Moderna on Tuesday. My upper arm where they shot me was sore for a few days but at this point, its back to normal. No other side effects. I'm expecting those, if any, on the second dose.
