Are you getting the vaccine? - Absolute trashfire thread, please enter with caution

Two doses of AZ, with the last about two weeks back. As I've mentioned in previous posts here and elsewhere, my reasons for getting them were an attempt at 4D chess, as I figured they might try and wrangle shit into being necessary for travel/relocation, both domestically and elsewhere. I was half right, at least so far.

However, I'm having some buyer's remorse to tell the truth. I've been sick and unwell more times in the past three months then I have in the past three years. Much greater incidence of fatigue and generally feeling like a pile of soft shit, despite the fact I've always eaten well, exercises regularly, and have historically always had a cast iron immune system.

I derped.

I might have to take it because otherwise, I won't be able to get into the country where my girl is. But I'm super concerned. I'm pretty sure I've had it, most likely even twice but I'm okay otherwise.
And despite me agreeing with people smarter than I about their reservations about the vaccines, my worry is more practical - governments push it so relentlessly, I'm naturally inclined to believe that they're up to some shit. I guess that comes with living in Eastern Europe.

Considering that I want to have a family and my girl might be pressured to take it too, this makes me super nervous. Bootlickers that shout "SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP AND TAKE IT REEEE" don't give me much faith either.

In the Current Year+6, being rational is being antivaxxer.

needed it but I got it to protect my family more than myself. I'm not anti-vac but I'm also not pro-vac either. If I lived alone, I'd probably have passed on it.
Can you explain this logic to me? After all the vaccine doesn't prevent you from getting it *or* spreading it?

Can you explain this logic to me? After all the vaccine doesn't prevent you from getting it *or* spreading it?
It does indeed do both. It's not 100% effective, but it's pretty close. https://www.yalemedicine.org/news/covid-19-vaccine-comparison
And even when it doesn't completely prevent infection, it greatly reduces the severity of it.

And it helps prevent spread, too: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/keythingstoknow.html
COVID-19 vaccines reduce the risk of people spreading the virus that causes COVID-19.

No, I'm not getting it, because if I survive the coof I am obviously of superior genetic quality than the gorillions who have died. My future children will carry my genes and their apparent resilience to the coof further, allowing natural selection to strengthen my family line without any assistance. If I continue to avoid getting sick with the coof despite repeated exposure to coof sufferers then it is an even more promising future for me. My genes and the gooey white carrier fluid they are found in will be utterly desirable due to the natural immunity I will have.

Do you right-wingers still not know the differences between different virus types?
Yes, explain to us how a member of a Coronoviridae family will kill us and how an untested technology that does not provide immunity will not put evolutionary pressure for the new strains to be more severe.

Please, explain this. Preferably without "right-winger" and other ad hominems. You want to be taken seriously, yes? Or do you want to be a laughing stock of this website?

People who might've been a bit more sympathetic to you are slowly leaving this forum for pastures new and to the other users you appear to be a mentally deficient old-timer with a "trolling" style (honestly, I just think you're naturally retarded) that dates you as much as your hot takes.

Please, enlighten us.

Trust me if our bleeding heart governments didn't insist I and the rest of the vaccinated have to protect you from your own stupidity I'd be more than happy to let you "I'm smarter than every healthcare expert on the planet because I read Pol" retards fuck around and find out with Covid.

In fact I'd encourage it because less stupidity in the gene pool is always good.

It has been tested (and is not "untested technology") and does provide immunity, as I described (and linked to a valid source) in my post a few posts up. See: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/are-you-getting-the-vaccine.84995/post-9458249

Unless you know something that the CDC does not know, which I highly doubt based on you being a retard and all.

Why would it put evolutionary pressure on the new strains to be more severe? That logic is completely stupid, even coming from you. The more hosts a virus has, the more it can mutate and thus evolve. So the more people who are vaccinated means the less likely it is to mutate. It's really not a difficult concept.

The vaccines help stop new variants.

As we vaccinate as many people as possible, as quickly as possible, we can stop the spread of the coronavirus. A slow in transmission of the virus means fewer opportunities for it to mutate, which can help prevent the emergence of any other variants.
Unless you know something that the University of Maryland Health System knows, which is about as likely as hell freezing over

Please, explain this. Preferably without "right-winger" and other ad hominems. You want to be taken seriously, yes? Or do you want to be a laughing stock of this website?
I explained it, but I used insults. I am not too worried about being a laughingstock on this website since your assblasted self is here.

Lol I wish that you trash from /pol/ would leave here, so I guess me pointing out how stupid you tards are is working

I hope you learned something today, but I highly doubt you'll read this and will instead just get seething mad and throw a temper tantrum like you usually do

TBF SARS-1 and MERS are both Coronaviridae, both genus Betacoronavirus as well.
However we 1.5 years into this and its pretty obvious SARS-CoV-2 is acting like the other, less-lethal but more transmissible human/pan-mammal coronaviruses.

Overall though, you're right; and there are more doomers/branch covidians acting like COVID is totes the same as Spanish Flu/Smallpox/Ebola, etc. sooper cereal guys

Most of us have already had COVID.
Your point is stupid and self-defeating.

Am I taking crazy pills? Don't virii trade infectiousness for lethality?
Why am I talked to as a snooty child when I'm asking simple questions or insulted and then these pretentious types get holy mad about being insulted in return?

The more hosts a virus has, the more it can mutate and thus evolve.
Yes? What good is the host dead for the virus, if it can't spread anymore?
Why don't we do the same thing for flu strains? Quarantines twice a year.

the more people who are vaccinated means the less likely it is to mutate.
So the virus will stop doing its' biological imperative and will just give up?

Lol I wish that you trash from /pol/ would leave here, so I guess me pointing out how stupid you tards are is working
Why would you like me to leave? Because I didn't come here for Chris? Do you find it uncomfortable that there are people who disagree with your worldview and challenge it? Is everyone who you disagree with is from /pol/?

I hope you learned something today
So far you have been rude to me and you have insulted my dignity and my intelligence by acting smug and superior. I hope I can challenge your perception if I don't respond to your "frustrated virgin from 2005" routine in kind but I don't have high hopes. Terminally online people like you seem to be revelling in redirecting their woes and emotional hurts onto other people as a way of asserting control over their lives.

I'm sorry, such a blind trust in authority must be a thing you Westerners do. I mean, it's totally human too to submit yourself to a leader in times of crisis but the leadership is supposed to show firm hand. If the leadership of our respective countries and supranational organizations wouldn't have flip-flopped on essential things and had a consistent position (all the while engaging the populace with clear messaging) then maybe I'd have more trust in it.

As for the fear of death - I've experienced things that I thankfully endured and living in fear gets tiresome after a while. You just learn to embrace life as it is given and accept it'll end whenever it will. Or, rather, hope it'll be long but accept it will end anyway.

Yes? What good is the host dead for the virus, if it can't spread anymore?
Why don't we do the same thing for flu strains? Quarantines twice a year.
You are the spaz who said it the vaccine was gonna have it evolve more deadly strains. Are you now upset that I proved you wrong? Covid is more deadly and contagious than the flu.

So the virus will stop doing its' biological imperative and will just give up?
Look up herd immunity.

Why would you like me to leave? Because I didn't come here for Chris? Do you find it uncomfortable that there are people who disagree with your worldview and challenge it? Is everyone who you disagree with is from /pol/?
This site has gotten worse since you morons from /pol/ came here to shit the site up with your retarded views.

I wouldn't act so smug and superior if you weren't such an anti-science dipshit who thinks you know more about things than people who have devoted their lives to studying said subject because some white supremacist basement dweller on /pol/ said so

They usually do, its not a perfect guarantee (for example Smallpox is both more lethal AND more transmissible than Coxsackievirus); but yes generally killing your host is a maladaptive trait while being able to infect easier/spread further/infect faster/avoid defenses, etc. are almost always adavantageous traits.

I wasn't trying to talk down to you, I just believe in being true to the facts; which is why despite agreeing with you overall I felt the need to point out SARS-1 & MERS were Coronaviruses. (Again, COVID is behaving like 4/6 less-lethal, more transmissible sister-species more so than 2/6 more lethal, less transmissible sister species)
Again I agree with your post, I just felt the need to clarify a minor detail when doing so.

More contagious than the flu? Does transmissibility mean lethality?

Look up herd immunity.
Does herd immunity remove the virus from the population? Is that what you're saying? So once the population is immune, it ceases to exist?

This site has gotten worse since you morons from /pol/ came here to shit the site up with your retarded views.
How exactly do you know where new people are coming from? Is everyone who disagrees with your views from /pol/? Gotten worse how? Last time I checked, Null wants for the forum to evolve.

I wouldn't act so smug and superior if you weren't such an anti-science dipshit who thinks you know more about things than people who have devoted their lives to studying said subject because some white supremacist basement dweller on /pol/ said so
So unless you are a left-leaning, college educated person of color, you are forbidden to ask questions and request explanation for things? Are you saying that one should submit oneself under authority without a proper understanding of what one is submitting to?
Oh I did not know this was a "Western Issue" last time I checked the entire world is dealing with the same problem.
You must have terrible comprehension skills.

I'm sorry for misleading you. I should have clarified that I mean people like Hollywood Hulk Hogan. I often encounter people like that, who think that plebes should not bother them with trifle questions and then they get upset that said plebes disrespect or outright ignore them altogether.
I am, frankly, uneducated in these matters and my talking points are bits and pieces of knowledge I've acquired over the years. It's quite easy to be seduced by the Internet's freedom to talk like you understand things but I don't and I'm trying to wean myself off that habit.
However, I do believe that we should and can ask questions to make an educated decision to the extent of our respective intelligences and not be scolded or pelted for our questions. If we ask the wrong questions, we should be explained why is it wrong.
