I can't believe this is seeing the light of day. Ten years ago Gamoverse was the response to "What does Ross actually do at Game Grumps?" It's been so long I just assumed it had been forgotten about.

I vaguely recall at some point Ross saying it was his dream to make this into an actual show at some point? 10 years ago maybe I would've been hyped, but I didn't feel anything watching that trailer. Though I realise I'm probably out of the intended audience at this point.

One thing's for sure, Ovary Raptor is definitely not making an appearance, and there will not be any jokes about dudes in dresses.

Overall, I'm honestly happy for Ross. That's another one of Arin's associates that got their own show through grinding the craft and not giving up (yeah he's listed as a writer here, but how much do you wanna bet this is Ross being nice vs Arin actually being passionate about a project?).

No, It's reboot. user loads up game, plays and beats, it implodes and breaks after they win. Sometimes characters get caught in the wipe and die or get fucked up and corrupted.

I really loved the original Gameoverse series. It started off funded by Playboy of all things iirc, I remember the logo was on the corner of the first episode on Newgrounds. I understand a mid-late 2000s flash cartoon series doesn't need to be adhered to all the way but I don't recognize anything from the original concept. (besides Arin's T-Rex character in the corner of the edutatainment game UI)

Depends on whether the voice director and/or writer(s) is competent. Jack's decent in Dispatch, as is Charlie. It helps that the game also has several notable VAs that are directed just as well.

This Iteration of the idea has been in production since 2014 (not dedicated) but seemingly ramping up production in 2018

Watching him get punched out by the gym leader was hilarious. Not really here to see skilled gameplay just to see incompetence in motion. Arin never fails at that. I even found Dan tearing into him for being utterly unprepared to be extremely funny. Literal decade of talking about eventually doing a Nuzlocke and the game drags its sack over his face.
