If those videos truly mattered, Arin would have done something about them years ago (when he supposedly changed his ways for the better) not literally just yesterday.

Arin seems to only be scrubbing episodes with Jon. Episodes with Danny where they drop the n-word are still totally fine. I'd suggest to archive it if it hasn't already.

  • Mega Man 7 is up, it's just missing a "complete" video
  • Goof Troop is up, it's just missing a "complete" video
  • Half of Zelda is up
  • Half of Pokemon Emerald is up
I'm working on the rest of Zelda now, including a "complete" video.
 
Titles are being changed on ALL of their old videos now, taking out any possible swearing within them.

As for the deleted videos: they haven't been privated, they've been straight up deleted: for the first three videos that got hit during this timeframe, Socialblade is now showing a 40 million+ view dropoff.

I knew the day would happen when Arin had to live up to the sins of his past. I didn't think he would be so much of a fuck up to think that removing videos would solve anything and instead amplify it.

Like all he had to do was say "Yeah, 2012 wasen't as PC as it was today and we want to preserve what our foundation was" or someshit like that. Now he is just actively censoring it like it killed John Lennon.

I remember watching a Disney compilation of their old cartoons years ago where the narrator would say something like 'we did this back then but we wouldn't find it acceptable today but we aren't going to hide it because it happened and its part of our history so please consider them in their past context' and it was for stuff like how black people were drawn, abusive households, wartime racism, jews, etc.

Its pretty crazy how the people who say we should make allowances and try to understand other different cultures can't apply that same standard to our own culture in the past.

I'm always amazed how much random Gamegrumps hate you see while online. I think outside of the fuglies their name is mud so it's all for naught in the end.

I created a Mega.nz account to upload the videos on there which I'm still adding stuff to it as I type this out. The way the files will be organized is as follows...
  • Every Series will be ordered by when they first appeared (eg. Kirby Super Star has 001 at the start of it showing it's the first series they worked on)
  • In each series folder will have another folder for separate episodes, and a "complete" video (similar to Oney Plays style) in which all the separate videos are combined. Those "complete" videos are of my making... that Kirby one took 3 hours to process on my computer.
  • In the separate videos folder will not only have the separate videos, but will also have a ZIP of all the videos (so you don't have to download all of them one at a time)
It took me longer to get this out because I also took the time to re-convert the videos to use a proper codec (H.264). For some reason, some of these videos after ripping them have this "Google/On2's VPA Video" codec that on some devices refuse to play nice with (eg. If you're like me who has a Roku and uses the Roku Media Player to play them from a USB Hard Drive)

I'll make a new post that updates my progress, so keep an eye on that link for future additions. If for whatever reason this mega.nz link goes down, I still have the videos saved on my computer,so they won't be gone completely. Unless anyone can think of a better alternative, I'll have to do some research and find something different.

I wonder if that number is going to drop any further; as that number feels a little low - given how many vids were removed and the older vids having way more views than their current content has by comparison.

I don't think he really qualifies as a cow, and even if he did I don't think there's enough content to support a thread. It would be one of those threads where people just rehash old drama for a few pages, and then it dies. There's a general Oney thread over in Games though.
 
I love how this all started because Arin couldn't keep his mouth shut. He's in a unique position of abiding by social pressure but going against common business practices by nuking 40 million views with more to come. It's even funnier when you read the original tweet that started this; In the past Arin has used GG to grandstand on many occasions be it on YouTube or Twitter, but when it's about something he "totally cares about" he needs flying monkeys to give him the green light to be able to talk about it. (My theory is that Arin knew his racy videos would resurface, but instead of removing them at the time he still wanted the revenue while it lasted, now in a desperate move to look woke he's removing the "problematic" videos).
