I've never actually bothered to look up Danny's band before, but I was led down the youtube rabbit hole to him because I was watching a string of music videos with nice animation and this bizarre psychosexual musical came up:

Not my jam and almost too Weird Al for even Weird Al. Cameos from Arin too. So I backpedaled on the videos I was watching, and took a closer look at the ones that started me down this gross discovery:

At least in Starlight Brigade, the lead character (the blue alien), shows no resemblance to Dan (Lovelies think it does - despite the diminutive stature and youthful appearance when compared to the rest of the crew. If anyone bore a resemblance to Dan in that video, it would be the commander (?) at 1:31 (bulky clothes and eye shield aside, he's got the hair and the butt chin to match). Beautifully animated, though. (and being a TWRP song, very catchy).

And, Oh God, Heartboner! That one was sheer cringe - largely due to how the cutesified animation just doesn't mesh well at all with the barely subtle lyrics about Sexbang wanting to f*ck his love interest du jour (with all that talk about his love being 'stiff and true', wanting to blast a load of feelings into her and slam her with empathy'.) Just, gag!

As a side note, if I understand it right, it was written for his rl girlfriend (it would also explain the style of animation - being she's apparently a Disney fan).

These bummy ass muhfuckas ain't fuckin cults of personality. I've seen pop stars with, a) less merch and b) less merch that just has their fucking face on it. They have gimmicks and jokes right? Why is the extent of their personality on merch just them being "wacky"? Are they cosplayers or something? Why are they naked? Why are they Simpsons? Fuck, content creator merch is usually pretty fucking garbage, but they make so much of it! All they have to show for it is the same characters over and over again from artists who either have styles that are boring or are seem to be given instructions to limit themselves!

The thing that stands out to me about modern GG is just how fucking soulless and corporate it all feels. All the real personality of the show was stripped away a long time ago. Clock in, clock out. "haha we're gay but actually not! dicks and poo!!!" rinse and repeat 1000 times. You're watching a hollow shell of a once great channel.

When you look at recent gameplay Arin is just bad at it. In SMG2 and Hollow Knight he just fucking sucks. In the past he would die but it wouldn't be this bad. This reminds me of something tpusa told me which is that when you get older you just start getting bad at videogames.
It is not a joke, starting think I'm really getting too old to play games as well as Arin.

Nah, Arin just doesn't want to play the games. He gave up years ago. The only time Arin plays any game is on GG and so when he's there he doesn't try.

The Hollow Knight run they've done so far is some real grade A phoning it in. The usual aimless wandering even after a mention of a guide, failure to even skim what an item does, and repeatedly just flat out ignoring NPCs that have functions. Arin already has a history of being shit at games but when he's not interested he just drags his feet like having to play a video game for an income is a Sisyphean task. He's making a piss-weak attempt at pretending to like a highly requested game.

From what I know the game gets incredibly challenging later so any attempts to actually make tangible progress will be like trying to paint a canvas with buckshot.
