Armed Protesters take over Fed owned Building

http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/03/us/oregon-wildlife-refuge-protest/index.html

Yep. Another chapter in the Cliven Bundy saga. Protesters have taken over a Federal building in Oregon, claiming the government is using unfair tactics to try and get them to sell them their farmland. Shit hit the fan when ranchers where arrested for arson. The ranchers claim they where doing it to kill off invasive crops and to prevent wildfires. The protesters think the arrest was the government trying to punish ranchers.

Shit gonna go down folks

Imagine if they were :islamic:.

How often does this happen? I live across the water and the bundy ranch even got reported here. Is this a big deal in america?

Taking over of a Federal Government building? Often enough where you can probably find one in the news every 5 to 10 years but not often enough to be considered a trend.

TBH all I know the thing that set this off was Bundy having his cattle graze on public land. It went to the court, with Bundy trying to say the land was his or some shit and somehow turned into that stand off a year and a half ago. I thought it ended but then this happened.

This shit is off the hook, even by America standards. It's a real-life armed insurrection against the gov't. The Koresh standoff and the prior Bundy standoff are the only other comparable things in recent history I can think of.

Unfortunately, the gov't will probably talk them down instead of going Rainbow Six on their asses.

I look forward to the government once again throwing itself to its knees and fellating these anarchists, God forbid we anger the autistic rednecks with guns.

It's so strange. Why do they use s feather touch with people like this?

These types of predictions ("If they were muslim/black they'd be gunned down!" are usually based on gut feelings and don't often convey the right information. There have been many cases of militant black protesters marching with guns and they haven't ended with police gunning them down. The protesters here aren't black or islamic content in nature in either case.

While the leader was Cliven Bundy's son, it wasn't related to that incident but some other incident where some guy got charged with arson for burning weeds in his yard cuz he was afraid of starting a forest fire. IIRC he served a year in jail and then the judge decided that wasn't good enough and extended it to four years so they took this place over in protest.

Honestly the lack of media coverage about this or an official response is so ridiculous. It's not even a racial issue like some people are making it out to be, but an ideological issue as well. There was an incident at my college where unarmed lefty anarchist students locked themselves in a University building to protest the President being a war criminal (he led a massacre in Vietnam) as well as the Uni investing in drone tech. The President responded by calling the police and saying it was a "terrorist attack". The police sent in over 100 officers to take on 19 unarmed college students, beat the shit out of a bunch of innocent bystanders who were watching, peppersprayed everyone in sight, and arrested everyone within a couple hours.

The Feds are probably going to shit themselves and do nothing because they don't want another Waco/Ruby Ridge which is kind of scary because I'm a hell of a lot more terrified of right wing nutjobs than I am of some brown guy in a turban/hoodie

I wish more people cared about their rights. Like, the second amendment is one of the most important rights.

I guess we only hate them cause they're rednecks. Unlike Mizzou they have an actual grievance.

Not all guns owners.....

Why is it all I can say to myself is this right now, (knowing what kinds of people these are and how easily they can be dealt with!):
Please let them get thrown in jail...
Please let them get thrown in jail...
Please let them get thrown in jail...

Please let them get thrown in jail...

Please let them get thrown in jail...

And get turned into the face of gun control.
Last time they stood against the BLM the feds backed off

The protest is over the re-jailing of ranchers convicted of arson after they have served their sentence. The loophole was the the original judge who did the sentencing sentenced them for a term shorter than the minimum. This wasn't any corrupt district court that threw them back in jail, this was the 9th circuit.

Nobody is overthrowing the federal government over this.

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that these protesters are simply camping out with some guns in a previously empty wildlife refuge building and presumably aren't on the city streets burning cars, breaking windows, and looting stores.

Not really that often. I think the last thing remotely similar to this happened around 20 years ago.

Really though I'm surprised this shit is still going on. IMO I think the Bundy family are just some assholes that get into shit and instead of dealing with it like civilized people they open their trap, piss off the wrong people and then manipulate other people around them by claiming the government is out to get them and then something like the Bundy ranch and this happen.

The Second Amendment doesn't mean and never meant that you could use guns to invade property that doesn't belong to you and occupy it.

I could think of plenty of empty pieces of property that nobody is using right now.

Doesn't give me the right to march in and steal it.
