They brought back the Pile Bunker along with a Chainsaw. The shields also aren't completely shit unlike every other Armored Core game beforehand. Also I wouldn't say they Dark Souls'd too hard on AC6, it is still clearly an Armored Core game with the only time it gets a little too close is during boss battles. I do wish there was more emphasis to losing money on missions but I understand that:
1) That would filter more newfags than ever and prevent sales to do an expansion for AC6.
2) That problem isn't exclusive to AC6 whatsoever.

The only main criticism I have with AC6 is that the game relies WAY too much on stagger and weapons like the minigun aren't really all that effective if they have the barrier or if you aren't doing like double miniguns. Also not being able to be ranked when redoing a mission on subsequent playthroughs is kind of lame so in order to 100% S rank the game, you have to replay the missions an EXTRA time, which isn't too bad since most of the missions aren't very long.

There's pile bunker and chainsaw weapon, both fucks equally hard on ACS broken targets with the former deletes most of target's health bar in one go and the latter keep their ACS broken for a while longer due to the repeated stun hits for another follow up. Stun baton have quick attacks that can help building up Shock status on target that will then trigger instant damage. There's also MOONLIGHT and REDSHIFT laser blade if you only use them for the projectile as it keeps you in place instead of going forward like other melee weapons. After you've collected all the battle logs to reach level 15, you get a coral blade that has a sweeping heavy attack that shoots out a continuous beam with excellent range which is pretty much what you want to use since its normal attack have little to no forward momentum for the blade to connect. There's also a bluster bomb launcher that is counted as a melee weapon somehow and use ammunition and a plasma launcher that works like a whip.

they just couldn't help themselves, could they? they just had to bring back the fucking bonewheel sleletons, didn't they?
Welcome to the club. Now bust out your stun needle cannons, SOUP missiles or dual zimmy because they don't fucking deserve mercy. Oh and don't forget to clean out every single one of them in the swamp for the battle logs and another 2 after you've collected the log from a downed MT nearby and MOONLIGHT blade.

between posts i've seen the truth, and the truth is dual stun needles. they may be snapping the game in half but it sure is great.

Finished Chapter 2 a bit ago. So I guess I'll start marking stuff as spoilers now and start reading the thread again.

So, end of chapter 2 So I learned what the fuck a "Sea Spider" was after having found that name floating around a few times. Before that I had fun with orbital lasers, Jesus fuck the first time one of those things hit me, took a few tries to get the hang (sorta...) of them... Anyway, this time I did go into the mission prepared so had multiple legs, cores and multiple weapons. Too bad it wasn't good enough for the fucking Sea Spider! I did get incredibly close with a lightish inverted legs setup with the strong saber sword, the napalm launcher and shit ton of shoulder missiles. Buuut after a few more tries felt like a fluke and I already noticed that the Spider really really fucking did not like high ordinance explosives, so left the mission.

We go to the shop, get 2 shoulder mounted double grenade launchers, stick a chaingun to my right for some constant dakka and the saber sword on the left, went back to quad legs since the chicken legs were not holding that shit anytime soon and we went in again. Like 5-6 attempts later the fucking thing went down, though like what it's starting to become a pattern for me, my AP were in the red, but meh, win is a win. Also, can now buy the whellchair legs and god knows I'm fucking around with those now.

So now I have access to PVP, fucked around a bit with it. 1v1 feels like a pain, 3v3 feels more fun for me. Was also a neat way to get a sneak peek at other parts in the wild. Still loving the game though was surprised chapter 2 was so short.

As for the story. I have no fucking idea what is happening, I have a coral waifu and Walter and they reek like they will be opposing forces in the future, but for now, I'm just going along with whoever talks to me like a good meat puppet. Not particularly invested at the moment, though I'm still feeling more like a merc for a paycheck and I'm fine with that.

Still really liking it, but due to it's nature and it's "surprise motherfucker" bosses I do feel the need to avoid playing it unless I know I can invest a couple of hours. Thankfully the backlog is deep so I have other stuff for shorter bursts.

Stun baton, chainsaw and pile bunkers are all options.

Also: Only a few of the bosses feel Dark Souls-y. Most feel right at home with AC. But, some do stick out as being a bit too Souls-ish for my tastes.

I told myself I'd be S-Ranking the game using Chapter appropriate gear; so far, I'm using mostly Chapter 1 with some Chapter 2 stuff.

I'm still using the Melander C3 set; with the 760PR (Laser Rifle), Laser Sword, and dual 70VPM Plasma Missiles. I've handled every Arena fight up through B with this with little problem; with the Laser Sword carrying a lot of weight due to its double wide-sweeping strike.

On missions with bosses and a need for high burst; I sub in the OG legs LG-011 Melander for the increased weight capacity, swap the Laser Sword for the Pilebunker, and the Plasma Missiles for the Song Birds. Only the beefiest of enemies survive the first onslaught.

While I can't give a specific order; I dumped my OST Chips into energy weapons, melee weapons, and damage reduction.

Currently in Chapter 3 and about to go back to S-Rank the Attack the Old Spaceport mission.

I'm not sure if the game is just that easy with the short missions and what-not, or if I just have a lot of experience from playing past games and know what to expect, and that the game isn't balanced properly. So I only need two different loadouts, depending on if there's bosses or not.

100% it. Rusty, Carla, and Chatty were the best characters. Hated Ayre and Allmind. Now I wait for Sekiro 2.

Good job. You missed G1 Michigan and Walter, I loved the conversation after you finished the RLF route of the Dam mission.
