It's funny how close he is to some truths here.

"The PRC and USSR are both scams. They promised workers' rights, but the workers have been forced to labor longer for a lower standard of living. The workers still had to answer to a boss, the boss was just from the government instead of a private business owner." Yeah. That's right.

"Laziness should be celebrated as a virtue." No. Fuck off.

He really thinks that labor saving, world changing inventions were designed and brought into production by lazy sacks of shit whose goal in life was sitting on the couch all day fapping to trannies? Laziness is a vice because it involves not wanting to do fucking anything productive or improving, including artistic and creative endeavors. There's nothing virtuous or good about it. It only degrades the individual and the environment. Work meanwhile can be taken to an unhealthy extreme, but generally produces some kind of tangible positive outcome for someone.

Chu also seems to be one of those people who thinks that the only reason we don't live in a post scarcity world is because we haven't decided that we do.

It's absolutely schizophrenic. Fighting for worker's rights shouldn't equate to holding up working yourself to death as a virtue, but the take that laziness is a virtue is just... no.

If I were to be more generous, I could argue that he meant to say that having leisure time, more time to spend on hobbies and with family, is something that workers should advocate for, rather than have a system where so many workers are burnt out by the end of the day and don't have the financial stability to go on nice vacations, maybe experience enrichment by being exposed to new cultures. But that's not what he said. He said "laziness." There's no enrichment from laziness. There's no growth or forward momentum. It's only stagnation.

A part of me wonders if this is him trying to rationalize depression, since depression leaves you so drained you don't want to do anything, you don't feel like it's worth it to do anything, and you feel like you're punishing yourself for not doing anything by... not doing anything. But I think very few depressed people will be like "yeah, I love where my life is right now, I get to lay in bed all day surrounded by garbage and feel no sense of accomplishment, it's great, I want to do this for the rest of my life!" Well, they might say that sarcastically, IDK, but Arthur is just straight-up admitting like "naw, I wanna be lazy and I want other people to give me the gay luxury space communism that I will demand, but do fuck all to work towards."

I'm kind of reeling from this take, tbh.

"This is an awesome instruction manual!"

No, his type wants 1984's authoritarian delight, but wouldn't be willing to give up their do-nothing coomerism for it.

They actually want to be Brave New World's Bernard Marx; pretending that nihilistic hedonism is an ideal while never actually seeing above petty politics and base degeneracy.

Though I do think Chu outdoes what Huxley imagines. Huxley saw venal people blinded to what they were, Chu knows better but still luxuriates in filth.

Gee I wonder why this happens literally every single time communism is tried. And why is it that workers get better actual policy outcomes when capitalism is tried instead?

Golly gee willickers it's really a puzzler.

Me Chink. Me Know Kung-fu!

Now witness Chu-Chu's mental Kung-fu on the J. K. Rowling tervery, May 2019 Edition (for the record, Rowling threatens legal action on a troon who claims that Rowling, because she doesn't recognize the claimed gender of "trans kids", is no longer safe around children)

So a woman "have to change" in order not to have men libeling her. Nice victim blaming, very typical of cis allies.

I made no attempt to capture all his odious tweets about the nigger riot. Chu tweets a storm even on a normal day.

Chu knows Theology too. He graduated from the same seminary as Jonathan "TransEthics" Holliday:

As a bootlicker to troons, Chu is of course familiar how some white people think a tinniest bit of discomfort is a "death threat" or "an erasure of my existence".

Why do I read this and feel like the word "billionaire" is the only word that makes this not a tweet that could be aimed at his ex-wife?

I came across an old spat between Chu and the author of Slate Star Codex. They both knew each other before The Chairman became famous. Scott Alexander describes himself as a friend of Chu's, but this is self evidently impossible, as Arthur Chu is clearly incapable of friendship with anyone. The full article put up by Scott Alexander on why Charles Clymer can go commit suicide is worth a read, but the best bit came in the argument beforehand, which was also archived by the folks at /pol. Chu put forth a statement so simultaneously cruel, stupid, and cynical, I'd consider the whole thing the work of the mysterious "hacker" who keeps targeting Kurt Angle's social media accounts if it came from anyone else, with the exception of Jonathan McIntosh:

Even for a self-confessed rapist,* this is disgusting.

* Starting at 1:30.

I'm surprised no one's jumped in to mention his delightful twitter reaction to SlateStarCodex shutting down. I'd do it myself but I can't seem to be assed to figure out how to embed twitter quotes.
