Assassin's Creed thread

In the end, it's still a full price AAA game. Dunking on Grummz and Musk is free.

You can bet there's people at Ubisoft wringing their hands thinking that'll give the game a needed boost cause they take the numbers at face value.
Much like reddit, some people are way too attached to twitter and think it translates to real life.

Elon Musk and Mark Kern are completely unaffected by the Assassin's Creed twitter account ratio'ing them over gotchas that everyone already dunked on them for, and so is AC Shadows. It's still underperforming and Ubisoft is still losing money.

Nothing has actually changed.

All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again.

Speaking as someone who's pretty broke and usually only has enough money/time to buy one new game a year at this point I kinda hope these people all die tbh

So often I wish to rate what’s in a user’s post as dumb but not the actual user. This is an example. That guy is an idiot. The same kill animation from the niggerai over and over does not warrant $70 spent, nor does some stupid tweet by the company.

I might buy it when it goes on a sale, I’d maybe spend $30 on it depending on what else I’m playing. It will also give them time to iron out the bugs in the game.

I know we aren't likely to get true and honest sales figures for this heap of trash, but I'll share a thunkful anecdote. I snagged a copy of Ghost of Tsushima Director's cut today, and never in my life have I seen a 60+ GB torrent fly like this one did. More than 50 s(n)eeding will do that, I guess.

It's not unheard of for big games to bomb and consequently spark up interest in similar, better games. Maybe this is one of those cases.

I find the moon sticker tends to work as the 'this is some dumb shit you've brought us' sticker, where the trash can and the tism piece tend to be the 'this is some dumb shit you've said' sticker.

No full-price game is worth buying. A game being at-most -20% during sales is a testament to their insecurity. Look at the first page of a good sale: 4/5 games are under $30, last +60 hours and are worth it. Look at page 3 and you'll see the retarded "w-we're AAA!" studios putting their games at -18%, if not the studio has already folded.

That, and Humble Bundle having a game in its monthly bundle means the keys absolutely tank on third-party sites. Even persona 4 went down to like $4.

I asked myself, how many of those people retweeting, commenting, liking are actually buying the game?
Not a damn one. If likes could be equated to sales I'd be a lot better off in life.

proprietary engine, not UE.

using TAA makes things easier and the pros outweigh the cons depending who you ask.

might need 1080p at least to spot the difference:
From my understanding TAA looks better on high res monitors and its lower res that are the issue. But no one has 4K monitors so...
Also I noticed that it appears unreal uses TSR and DLSS instead now for options. Not sure if TSR is TAA or what. I know DLSS is the nvidia version of it.

I truly hate that we are at the point where they're going to start offering to finance video games into 4 easy purchases.
The last AAA I bought was Elden Ring. As things currently are I aim to keep it that way.

I find the moon sticker tends to work as the 'this is some dumb shit you've brought us' sticker, where the trash can and the tism piece tend to be the 'this is some dumb shit you've said' sticker.
Yeah I use moon and wrench as "oh shit that's a fucked thing to read about."
Trash and autistic are reserved for retards posting their own things.
I used drink! for "Yeah I'll drink to that." and "Oh look Rekieta's at the liquor again."
But they took drink from me so I must have done something wrong.

No full-price game is worth buying
I think some indies are. Games 20 and less if they're smaller devs. I'm in.
But AAA? I let those fuckers go down to 10 or 5 bucks.

Knowing this guy he likely bought it day 1 and is just posturing to gain brownie points. The vast majority of leftists do not buy the video games they shill outside of like the first Life is Strange game and that’s about it.

We didn't know how good we had it with Desmond Miles. Lmao.
As much as people hate to admit it, he was the main character of the franchise and once they killed him off I noticed the plots got a lot more aimless.
But that's just what happens when you try to write a story with no fucking main character.

Black Flag as the first game without Desmond despite having the best gameplay too also had the most grueling modern day sections too with absolutely no real main character to give a shit about most of it became unskippable cutscenes of people just talking at you that you had no control over.
Say what you want but at least with Desmond if you didn't care you could just skip the cutscenes most of the time.
On top of that as much as people hated them the modern day sections were integral to the plot as in most of the old games you were delving into ancestor memories to find where something might have ended up in the modern day to prevent the Templars from finding it first.

Without any of the framing many of the plots now just have me scratching my head and wondering what the overarching goal is... oh right, there isn't one because Ubisoft stopped caring about the narrative years ago.
