Assassin's Creed thread

Anyway. Yasuke appeared in both games, as a main character holding a major spirit. Even William was holding a major spirit in Nioh 2 and you had to defeat him to get it.
>Niggasuke
>Main character in both games
Appears as a main mission boss in Nioh 1, gets dominated by William. Is never mentioned again.
Appears as an optional duel mission boss in Nioh 2, gets dominated by Hide. Then appears again during the mission where Akechi Mitsuhide betrays Nobunaga at Honno-ji. Is never mentioned again.

You are the dumbest gorilla nigger in the jungle, way to reveal the fact that you don't play games.

Ubisoft sucks, save your money and skip this shit game
This is the only correct response. There's far better games set in Sengoku-era Japan, and a superior "AssCreed in Japan" game exists in the form of Ghost of Tsushima. If you must play something with Yasuke in it, play Nioh (or don't, he's a late-story boss in 1 and I haven't gotten far enough to encounter him in 2 yet).

This is the least sjw thing they have done. AC series had always been liberal sided from the beginning. The game portray christians as bad/evil and islam as freedom fighters/good/justified killing. In AC1 AC2 AC brotherhood and espiecially in Revelations with how the byzantines were viewed as the evil antagonist and the ottomans were the good guys.

Communism was viewed as good and capitalism had always been viewsd as evil in AC series.

Liberation had a black woman protag

Adewale was also a protag in the DLC of Black Flag.

AC3 is literally about colonialism. And you played as a native american/english mix

The list goes on. I find it hilarious that this is the most talk about thing. I also find it funny that people apparently claim they were fine with AC Oddysey, Vahallah havung womam protag when they were complaining about them when they were announce. Its literally no different when kotaku said that bayonetta and 2b were exceptions and EVE is not.

Literal horseshoe theory.

What even is the plot of the new AC games since they're not doing the modern day shit or the assassins vs Templars shit?

I think if I remember correctly Valhalla had some extremely stupid shit about Odin secretly being an alien or something?

Also as far as I know this slop doesn't have multi-player so why is it online only?
Because its Ubishit, that's why.
Nioh is also fantasy pulp, that doesn't even remotely try and pass itself off as "real" hence why no one cares that Yasuke is a samurai in that one.
Nobunaga also gets resurrected by the villain, you fight Nobunaga, and then after the fight when the villain tries to boss Nobunaga around he just tells him to fuck off and walks away to do whatever the fuck he wants since he's Nobunaga Oda and he's nobody's bitch boy.
Which to be fair, William wasn't that important in actual history of the Sengoku period.
Na, he was pretty fucking important. Taught the Japanese how to build their first ocean-going vessels and yanked the Japanese hard away from the Portuguese by being a hell of a lot more chill than they were. When he showed up the Jesuits outright demanded his head simply because he was an English Protestant to the point of lying to the Japanese and claiming he and his crew were all pirates, which obviously did not endear them to the locals when they had one of their own interpreters start asking questions. He was also an active participant in the Battle of Sekigahara as part of the Tokugawa artillery forces that were using cannon he and his ships brought over, and following that campaign was given 10,000 Portuguese reals for his services in it. He was paid extremely well for his services, with a estate worth 250 koku as well as a monthly payout from Ieysau of 50 ryo a month (a ryo being roughly equivalent to a koku in value) and given an additional per diem of a few pounds of rice, granted the title of samurai, and even made one of Ieyasu's personal hatamoto. Shit, he even secured substantial trading rights for the Dutch that they would manage to maintain even throughout the sakoku period as well as convinced Ieyasu to expel the Jesuits from Japan and to never trust the Spanish. There was a ton of seething in both Iberia and the Vatican as a result of his efforts since he ensured they were all permanently cockblocked from the place.

You can pretty much give the dude all of the credit for Japan's Anglophilia, both past and present.

Ubisoft's stock price is only $21 a share, is it judt me or is that super low for an entertainment company of their size?

For comparison EA stock is $127 a share and CDPR stock is around $87 a share once you translate slavbucks into dollars doos.

Certainly seems like they're not doing so hot.

You're killing me dude.
Semi-unrelated but I have to say I fucking love this crackpot black people fake history shit. Whatever you want to call it. It always gets a laugh out of me, every fucking time.
It's even worse because you know there are people that unironically believe shit like this is real.
I don’t even know how many people I’ve argued with at this point who unironically believe Yasuke was a samurai. I might as well just stay silent and laugh because… arguing with retards is impossible.

The modern day stuff is probably the shittiest part of the new AssCreed series. The protagonist is a Mary Sue who built her own Animus that can use multiple DNA samples of other people at the same time. Pure cringe.

You and @Starved Artist are arguing in bad faith, to put it lightly. Historical authenticity drives immersion for one's storytelling and world building. The argument you're making about diversity in a fictional setting falls flat since their DEI practices outright dictates a predetermined character with X attribute regardless of creativity. People want something different, they don't want to be force fed diversity quotas when it compromises their experience on a product they're paying for. If Assassin's Creed prides itself on historical research for their fictional worlds, then they're being disingenuous on rewriting actual history because they want to.

He wasn't just a samurai, bigot.
He united Japan, ended the sengoku period and became the first Shogun of the Wakandawa-Shogunate, which reigned wisely for hundreds of years, shielding Japan from the white devil's influence.

Sadly, white colonizer backed "emperor" Meiji ousted Yasukes noble descendants and erased all black excellence from japanese history books because like his cracker masters he was afraid of the potency and power of the BBC.

I am so glad a french-canadian studio will finally right this wrong and we will finally see the enormous role black warriors played in making the country of Niggon what it is today.

Neither Assassin's Creed nor Ubisoft in general have been good in fucking ages at this point. Just play Ghost of Tsushima, Sekiro, Nioh, etc if you want a game like this. They actually had effort put into them and have minimal/no woke bullshit.

I genuinely believe them deciding to kill off Desmond was the moment the series fate was sealed.

Also yes, I know they're trying to bring him back as like an AI or some bullshit? It's stupid.

Tbf aliens were kind of already a thing in old AC. I think the plot originally was something like before humans lived on earth the earth was inhabited by this precursor race called the Isu? And the apple of eden was one of their artifacts. But some disaster happened that killed them all.

So unless Odin was somehow some other race, which would be even fucking stupider.

The Precursors were a bunch of hyper-advanced guys who used us humans as a slave labor caste. A big-ass coronal ejection fucked up the Earth, but because there were a lot more of us than them, and we were a lot less dependent on fancy tech than they were as a result of our status, we managed to survive even as they all died horribly, even if that did result in us getting sent to the Stone Age.

However, a bunch of them used psychohistory to plan out shit in the future, and combined with their genetic memory inserted themselves into the human genome to be reborn later, and naturally none of the Precursors who did that liked one another. The whole Assassin vs. Templar thing is a result of that, with a few Precursors thinking we deserve our freedom from them creating the Assassins, and the ones who wanted to come back from the grave and rule over us again creating the Templars. The entire plot of the Desmond games revolves around chasing down some MacGuffins they never got working to prevent mankind (and coincidentally their hopes of ruling over us once more) from being fucked up by another solar event that they all managed to accurately foresee using Magic Precursor Predictive Tech. At the end of 3 Desmond and gang find one, activate it at the cost of his life and freeing one of those slaver Precursors into the Internet as a digitized construct to be a problem for later, then we get Rogue, Black Flag, Unity, and Syndicate, which largely revolve around the Assassins and Templars fighting it out in their own time periods, the first two having some modern-day expository segments that do an excellent job of fleshing out some of the lore established in the Desmond games, and then starting with Origins the entire thing completely flies off the rails into nonsense, both in "historical" terms as well as the modern-day lore.

Yeah that sounds about right. Thank you, I was not autistic enough to remember the detail that intricately.

Shit, Origins directly contradicts not just actual history (Caesar's stabbing) but how it went down in AC: Brotherhood. When you start getting the keys to unlock the Armor of Brutus you find out he got visions from the gods (aka the Precursors) that warned him of Caesar's impending tyranny, and so he locked his armor away to leave it unsullied by the treachery he was going to commit by stabbing his best friend to death.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Origins also retcon the hidden blade? I remember in the early games the whole needing to remove your ring finger thing was a design flaw of the blade which Da Vinci corrected later. But in one of the later games they retconned it to some kind of commitment thing or something?
Basically, they changed it from "You have to cut your finger off or the blade will do it for you." to "You need to cut off your finger to show your commitment to the order." I remember someone telling me that.

Back to historical accuracy, can you imagine the man hours it took to perfectly recreate Norte Dame only to have your intended product be unoptimized? Hell, it's the same Ubisoft that wanted Arno to be playable in co-op and didn't back down on having playable female characters against Unity's design.
You have Ubisoft's reaction to the Unity female character controversy wrong. It's not that they "didn't back down", but were rather completely blindsided by the absurd outrage during E3 2014 with nothing they could do about it, the game being very late in development with only a handful of months until release in the holiday season. In fact, Ubisoft was so traumatized by the outrage that they've been doing their best to stave off a repeat with an emphasis on gender-mixed/selectable protagonists ever since at the expense of historical believability and having a well-defined central character to the story like Ezio or Connor.
