I'm starting feel lukewarm on this Black Flag remake. It's going to be in line with the current games when it comes to combat, armor and all the RPG elements. I was hoping for Black Flag gameplay with a fresh coat of paint visually and performance wise.

I'm replaying Black Flag right now.

I get that it's brain dead fucking easy, but like...I fucking *hate* the RPG bullshit they've done with the series.

Couldn't they just figure out a way to make the combat not "counter, execute" every turn without adding a bunch of RPG number bullshit to it?

The most likely answer is that they can't do it because they don't know how and the tools they use to "code" only allow them to use mechanics from the latest AssCreed games.

Just look up the joke of a tool they use to write the code for their games.

That being said, I don't have anything intrinsically against RPG-esque gameplay if the system allowed you to make interesting builds, but we all know they shat out the RPG number bullshit to force people to grind, and thus entice them to buy the anti-grind items conveniently available on their store, plus the whole "numbers go up" dopamine hit that makes RPGs as popular as they are.

I have no illusions that they won't butcher it. AC is dead as far as I'm concerned. I still have a few pre-Origins games that I own but haven't played yet, so I might still get around to them. Bugger anything that comes out of Ubisoft's pozzed orifice now, though.
 
When it comes to Black Flag, i remember the reveal of Mary Read being unintentionally amusing. From the first time i saw her, i clocked her as a woman. Thought the rest of the crew was just indulging her ala "She's one of the boys, so we treat her like one." But no, we were actually supposed to believe they never noticed anything off with her lol

Shadows was fine. I dare say it was better than Mirage and Valhalla due to its simplicity and more open-world scope, but lack of ANY outside-Animus content makes me wonder what the purpose was. They've completely ditched the 'actual' story of the outside world in favor of just doing alternative history games, which I guess is what they wanted all along.

I played 2 hours of Black Flag and it was a whiplash of how big a focus on the outside world the game had. Japan was the white whale of AC, I can't really imagine what kind of setting would invoke a 'must play that, dawg' vibe. Maybe like, real fucking deep medieval England? But that was Valhalla, more or less. More middle eastern slop?

1. they'd probably place blocks on allowed content to protect the ip, ie if they release a official ntr spin off that just loses them interest and money and makes wide spread fan unrest (unless it's just already a... ""thinly"" veiled ntr kink like rent a girlfriend with straight up imagined but completely drawn out ntr porn ever few vols or the official "but manager kun is nice to me and i can't not get fucked if i start a career so who do i choose" bullshit)

2. nobody can bring themselves to ever use an ip for any actual fun shit or to put any effort, and instead they'll just pay aot 1-2.50 or something a pop and charge 5-10 dollars for eren's sword that just has a default sword moveset, and then eren and mikasa's outfit maybe.

i really wish they went all the way through and just had mikasa be black'd. if we're going to be retarded with crossovers just go all the way. have him kill a titan with an mlg montage and then make mikasa instantly go over how he was even better than eren while eren cuckles in the background. i would love a anime/we wuz kangs/woketarded civil war

japan was the white whale at 4 when ac was still relevant, and that motherfucker wrote itself. just fucking watch a long playthrough of hanzo hattori and kotaro fuma's samurai warriors stories, read through their official histories, meld them with more repetitive templar shit that could work pretty damn easy with the westernization crisis that started around when nobunaga got muskets, have the story focus on being a ninja for the tokugawa in the war for japan, working for/being hanzo, fuma etc, show the culture respectfully, include time accurate weapons and tools, cash in the fucking check. instead they dug for the least interesting person in that entire era who wound up cucked in the corner after his strangeness wore off, but he's black.

ac died with desmond story wise and died gameplay wise after black flag spinoff, what, 3? when they actually launched and didn't bug out repeatedly, they needed to have either kept desmond and just padded the story indefinitely or turned it into desmond just becoming the animu tier ultimate assassin and learning them all, or just removed the story entirely and kept with their cash cow desires and just have "ok we're an assassin in (x) now", no simulation horse shit, just literally persia or wherever the fuck
