Assassin's Creed thread

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
I feel Rogue's brotherhood is spiritual continuation of Revelations' one. Total war against templars no matter the cost. Like first major target was Wallacian assassin who defected after brotherhood not only didn't bother to fight against conquest of Europe by Ottomans, but actually allied with them. Ezio massacred dozens if not hundreds of Christians by starting fire in cave to kill one templar. And he was friends with sultan fucking Suleiman

"Yasuke is historically authentic, the whole team took great pains to respect Japan." "And black people killing white Japanese people is my favorite cuckoldry fetish!"
The "Game":

I picked up Odyssey again; grabbed it a while back, but I didn't do too much on it then, but I want to give it another try now. Any suggestions? Definitely playing Alexios.

Odyssey is where they cranked up the level grind and how you hit like a wet noodle against an enemy that's higher level than you. They did this all to get people to buy the experience/level boosting MTX. However they added the story creator in a later update. The story creator is a "make your own quests and share with other players" thing they included in an update and all the most popular stories were "start quest, get teleported to this point, complete like 14 objectives instantly, and get a fuckton of exp". So if you just want to continue through the story and are getting annoyed at being underleveled, you can just spam the exp grinder quests a few times.

Did any AC game ever touch on "once we took off and gathered members, our goals got misunderstood"? It's a great trope, most recently seen in that biker movie with the Elvis bloke. From skinheads with attitudes to gun carrying fugitives, so the main character dips from his........... creed.

I wish the modern AC titles returned to base/team building, was my favorite part of Syndicate. Fuck being a godly assassin, let me raise others to be.

Also I'd have zero issues with Shadows if you could become a hot black hoe but alas, the one time we need it, it's not there.
They hire inexperienced people and let them learn? I must be high cause that shit never happens in the real world. Too bad it's with the next big title and not a €15 sidescrolling spin-off.

Partially.
I always thought that Ezio was deliberately written badly when it came to killing Rodrigo Borgia. The idea that he got tired of killing was justified, but was poorly implemented, and Mario should have kicked Ezio out of the Order when it came out that he spared him after everything he did to him

Was AC2 set in Paris? Just did the Siege of Paris buraeu and there was some lore about them shutting down the facility until the previous misunderstanding of their purpose is forgotten. Granted this was before AC2..

Just beat Valhalla. What a convoluted piece of shit story. I mean I'm on board and all, given how little of the story outside the games actually progress through the gameplay, all things considered, but man. Eivor dying the way >she intended is the best possible ending, but going on with Basim in real life is kinda shitty. Ironically I played Mirage first and loved Basim, but in Valhalla he's a sour piece of shit and I hate this whole "I know more than everyone else" Sasuke trope he's got going on.

So now we got a manbun shitlord larping as a black samurai. Sure gonna be interesting. I rewatched the Shadows trailer and honestly? Seeing that anorexic japanese girl crawling on all four in stealth was kino. Shame that it could've been a black amazon and her whipped japanese femboy. :(

I just had a terrible realization. Despite all the issues Valhalla is still probably the best Viking simulator around. Unless you're really into modding Mount and Blade or something I suppose.
And I guess the same goes to Odyssey for Greek heroes in a way.
Just makes you wonder what Ubisoft would be capable of if they weren't fucking retarded.

They're great fucking open world rpg slop collectathons. "But they're so generic", bro they'te likely what inspired modern god of war, ghosts of sushi and hogwarts legacy. Holding a trigger to use abilities, maps with towers and things to explore. Salvaging and transmog, PoE-esque talents. It'd be like calling doom "too doom-like".

But yes it's an insult to AC as a franchise, but Valhalla is one of the best selling games of all time, and like $20 for all of its dlc. Bannerlord is literal abandonware and a lockery of M&B. Wartales maybe? Going Medieval sorta? Few viking narrative games that aren't "LE VIKINGS WITH GUNS!" indie slop.

Odyssey was arguably better than Valhalla on top of being more AC story related with vastly more non-animus segments.

I'm looking forward to February, not as a purchaser of Assassin's creed niggerai, but as someone who desires to see the smoke of its burning. And to bring the Kosher-historian Thomas Lockley back into the spotlight, as his self-sourced/edited "niggers were the REAL samurai" fanfiction pages are still up as historical fact on kikepedia despite the debunking by >Japanese historians< earlier this year. Netflix used Lockley's fanfiction as direct gospel for their current wannabe animu.
you don't hate kike media enough.webp

It's amazing what controlling the content and creating the context has afforded the semitic racial-propagandists. Those poor korean animators..

Now finished AC Valhalla's story and dlc. Not a single reference to NIGGA IN JAPAN, but Basim does say that Miles whatever guy (haven't played non-mythology AC other than Syndicate) will have something of an experience, so chances are we won't be Basim using the Animus but that white grandpa guy going in Japan.

Which is great. I played Mirage before Valhalla, so I grew quite fond of Basim, only for him to emerge into the real life of Valhalla as a know-it-all cunt fuck, completely ruining the sensible and logical guy vibes he had in Mirage. Not gonna lie, probably gonna preorder Shadows simply for the sake of my AC collection and it looking pretty neat all things considered. Not an AC game, not a stealth game, but as generic predictable RPG slop it'll be aight.

Hope I can main the girl and stash the nigger away. Something funny about him being brute strength and combat when neither of those concepts are in the AC spirit. I'll probably jump into unity or black flag now, but I fear the dated design will wear on me, which is half the reason I'll get Shadows. Simply just because it's a modern dodge-aholic game. One funny thing I've noticed playing "CLASSIC AC" Mirage was how fucking annoying it was. There was a tie-in quest in Valhalla that tried to stage a typical AC takedown with exploration and such, and it was fucking annoying. I wanna run in, blow up, get my collectibles and get out. Spending 30 mins to make the target appear is great, just not done in a very interesting way in most of Mirage.

10 mins into Unity and already enchanted by how the controls are both clunky and awkward but also intensely agile. Sure Mr Frenchman may leap unrealistic paces between buildings but they aren't enormous undertakings to scale like in Valhalla. Heavy viking etc etc sure, but man does it feel good to be an agile.. assassin. I'm not a big fan of the chapter mission type of gameplay though, and why Brotherhood initially didn't sit well with me. It's a very odd blend of missions and open world, the old ACs.

Anyone fiddled with that AC Rebellion mobile game? Seems pretty aight for a Shelter clone but I generally hate playing games on phones.

apparently ubisoft updated origins (to fix the win11 issue I think) - and of course fucked it up even harder :story:

Any suggestions?
Either commit all the way to being a warrior or an assassin and turn the level scaling down as much as possible. Odyssey is gay as fuck for not letting you turn it off completely, but you'll save yourself a headache now and again when enemies fall a few levels behind you and don't take as long to kill.

Odyssey has a running theme where the pragmatic solution tends to be the overall best, so don't be afraid to be a bit of an asshole if it feels like it would be the right choice.

The war is only a backdrop and can't be meaningfully influenced at all. I wanted Alexios to be very anti-spartan on account of his upbringing and because Sparta is a gay and dumb society but it didn't really let me commit that much.
Something funny about him being brute strength and combat when neither of those concepts are in the AC spirit.
The split protagonist is fucking retarded anyway. Why would I want my character's utility cut in half? Why would I ever want to explore as the nigger with his mobility options being kneecapped? Why would I ever want to fight as the ninja bitch if she does a fraction of the damage?

Again, ghost already solved this. You can switch between ninja kit and samurai kit on the fly. I don't want to sit through a loading screen every time I want to switch up my play style.
