Try Rogue.
I have heard decent things about it, might give it a try. The idea of playing as an Assassin turned Templar is definitely an interesting one.

On that note I find it kind of funny that Arno pretty much completely forgets about finding out who killed his father and it's never brought up again. We know Shay did it, but still. very fucking odd that it's just completely forgotten about. But in general Unity's story is kind of meh.

It really is. Rogue was unfairly overshadowed because it released alongside Unity.

Unity was a mess. It needed a year in the oven at least. The bugs, the glitches, the gameplay decisions, the story. Where to start?

I thought the gameplay was the only redeeming quality imo.
Probably the best parkour in the series. You had a bunch of cool tools and ways to utilize them. Most of the missions are fairly open ended as in "Just go kill this guy, we don't care how you do it." and like I mentioned before it also nerfed the combat a bit so you couldn't as easily just go around slaughtering everyone you see like in the old games.
You could still do it if you were competent enough but it was very risky, especially because enemies would actually gang up on you unlike previous games where they would basically sit and wait their turn to hit you.
Imo I liked it because it actually forced me to use my head.

Again that's about all it had going for it though, beyond that I barely remember shit about the story tbh.

Didn't it not count as an assassination if you did not use the hidden blade? I remember the reviews mentioning that part about the game?

Wonder what the playercount will be on SteamDB...

Would it top 50k because I doubt that.

It has 1/5th the followers on the Steam page compared to Avowed and that game didn't even surpass 20k peak players.

It's just barely in the top 100 sellers (low sales likely), and not even top 50 wishlists (hardly any interest in the game) according to SteamDB.

This could genuinely be the final blow to Ubisoft as we know it if these numbers are comparable to PS and Ubisoft store which we can unfortunately not see.

60-70k peak is my guess.

I hate this but I'm an actual nerd. Normies and casuals love shitty slop like this.

Meanwhile, Yasuke Simulator has broken the top 1k wishlists mark. There's still some potential for some meme magic.

Not that I recall. I don't remember having any issues like that.
I remember it was the case according to Yahtzee (back when he was cool). Perhaps it was changed later?

Ubisoft was drunk on the Koolaid. They wanted a game based on the BLM riots and boy did they get it. This is what happens when you base things on something you do not understand.

Do not be so sure. Slop like this did horrible last year. Suicide Squad, Star Wars, Skull and Bones, Veilguard. All of those were shitty games and normies/casuals did not bite.

Yeah no, you were always a one man army in the old games.
Ok, yeah, you’re right. You were still a one man army in the old games. I’ll admit I was wrong about that.
Unity was the only AC game I played where you couldn't do that and you actually had to think about your approach. (Mostly because they nerfed chain executions which made fighting large groups of enemies a piece of cake in previous games.)
That’s what made it so good.

Does Youplay or whatever Ubisoft's shitty service is called display concurrent player numbers like Steam does?

If I was elected Head of Autism at Ubisoft I'd vote for us to just lean in and be ultra racist. Replace Yasuke's "generic African man" voice with the dumbest rapper we can find.

"Aww sheeit mayne I'ma muhuhfuggin' samurai guy and sheeit don't y'all niggaz be slackin' cuz me and my slimes are on da block"

We have Kodak Black do a true niggotry remix of the soundtrack to make it even more obnoxiously hip hop.

Yasuke's baby mama and family members show up to ask for money as soon as you get a million in game currency.

Yasuke invents Japanese fried chicken, "Y'all niggaz need to be trying this sheeit hurr cuh!"

At the end of the game Yasuke travels through time and tells Commodore Matthew Perry (who is black now obviously because why would a white use black ships) about Japan and starts America's involvement with Japan. Revealing that actually Yasuke is the real reason we have anime #BLM and the game ends with Yasuke converting to Islam.

Brotherhood, Black Flag, Rogue, Unity, Syndicate, and Odyssey are my favorites. 2 is good too but it feels like its the law you must revere it as the most important game. Odyssey I find Kassandra fun personality wise and the environment is so colorful and vibrant. The Victorian Hospital mission in Syndicate is fun. As is riding the carriages around running into shit destroying streets. Rogue is drastically underrated because it came out during the shift to the next generation of consoles and the Lisbon Earthquake level is fantastic. Shadow of the Tomb Raider stole a portion of that part to plagiarize in their game.

I'm only excited about Naoe. Idgaf about jigaboo swordsman.

Honestly, that’s a lot more interesting than what Shadows is looking like. If anything, you’re leaning into the fact that there’s very little known about Yasuke. He could have been the Chuck Norris of feudal Japan.

Not sure about 2, But I have heard Ghost of Tsushima be called “one of the Greatst Assasin’s Creed 2s ever made” . May explain the shitstorm of Shadows.
