This is not remotely "destroying a shrine". I'm with the chinks against Shadows for the most part but this is fucking retarded. Like, "A NEW GAME EMERGED IN WHICH YOU TORTURE AND RAPE TRUMP!", and then it's an 8 minute 16 bit flash game on newgrounds. What's next, an article about how you can slaughter civilians in a game that lets you kill 3 or 4 before ending your gameplay?

I'm confused, are we going to be involved in Honnoji? When was this game take place, before or after Honnoji? Now I have a feeling they want to expand this shit if it has any modicum of success with stories during Hideyoshi's reign and subsequent Tokugawa-Ishida war. God, I really hope this game flops so hard

Also Ranmaru is quite popular in Japan, especially among the Reki-jo that is a significant demographic for any media using the Sengoku setting. Changing Ranmaru for Yasuke is another show of disrespect for history just to push this DEI bullshit

That may be the ONLY good decision they made. AssCreed has always had Pope Derangement Syndrome and the Jesuits are just too perfect for villains for the setting.


Edit: As I said before, good candidates for heroes would have been:
An Ikko-Ikki ronin-turned-sohei
William Addams
Hattori Hanzo

Would have allowed for a magnificent return to tradition for Ubi and AC, especially with the white cloth wrappings some of those guys wore.

But William Adams was English, and the Frogs would likely butcher him the way they did Alfred the Great in Valhalla, where instead of kicking Viking ass and reconquering London from them he gets deposed by Eivor and takes up life as a wandering vagrant with all of England falling to the Danes.

And Hanzo was a big damn hero, and we can't have those.

Didn't AC2 have the Templar Borgias controlling the Papacy? Jesuit Templars is entirely in line with prior AC lore.

They're the French. Writing historical fan-fiction is what they do, like how Napoleon never made a single mistake and that every single Frenchman was either resisting the Nazis or helping those who were.

Let’s make this absolutely and abundantly clear: not one person on Earth has ever or could ever genuinely defend the Borgia Papacy as good, and the fact he was a Borgia was way more important in-game than that he was pope.
