Mikasa as a character is easier to understand if you know Kei Nagase from Ace Combat 5. Isayama basically took that character and put it into his story

I mean Mikasa is just a stoic ally character who had been close to the MC. It’s not really a unique archetype.

Shit, SASHA has more character than Mikasa. Sasha is a goof who loves food and is best buddies with Connie, and at first is rather spooked of fighting the Titan threat. It's when Eren gains his Titan form and things start going right for the wall inhabitants that Sasha sheds her terror and grows as a soldier, becoming a badass in the process. Shit, she's one of the few main OG characters that uses a gun later on, and kicks even more ass with it! That's not even going into her bow skills, going all Turok on a titan and some of Kenny's goons.

Mikasa just kinda mopes about Eren constantly and kills niggas dead with her blades. She's just kind of a blank slate for me.

TLDR: This girl is best girl, fuck off

Fucking Gabi man. Poor Niccolo got his waifu removed by a fucking child. Worst thing was, Sasha hesitated blowing away Gabi because she was a kid; Even when she had a good shot, she just couldn't blow away a child. Good morals, but bad timing and opponent...

Because Isayama wanted to write a preachy moral of the circle of revenge and make Gabi learn that her prejudice was bad. Literally it was for a message rather than meaningful emotional moment (like it could still be fine for the parents to forgive her but it would’ve been more natural if it was difficult to at first and Gabi actually did something to earn it rather than a rushed moral because “children in war is bad, adults cause war”)

But daily reminder Eren “I really care about my friends living fulfilling lives” Yeager knew Sasha would die and let it happen because he didn’t want to change the future at all because he couldn’t get coochie from his adopted sister

Mikasa wasn't so much a character as she was Isayama's excuse for making Eren a genocidal incel. And yet you'll still get plenty of fans calling her "strong" and well-developed somehow.
