Sorry to double-post again, but happy birthday, Levi! I hope you regain consciousness long enough to gaze upon all this insanity, and destruction, and realize that it was all your fucking fault.

Triple-posting, but whatever. The spoilers' are out and it looks like Levi is unfortunately still alive. And is apparently on Trending if this is anything to go by.

Edit: Wait a minute, he might not be. Getting conflicting reports, and I can't find the chapter in English yet. Apparently, Hanji says they need to bury a body, and then points to Levi. I don't know for sure. I'm sorry.

i couldn’t find the full leak of chapter 125. Only a partial leak
There are pictures of a heavily bandaged Levi being dragged on a horse carriage with Hange leading the cart. Some people are theorizing that Hange is trying to save Levi by making him eat a Titan. I can’t tell one way or another cause all the images of the other pages are too low resolution

I swear to god, if Levi becomes a titan-shifter I am going to lose my goddamn mind. I'll have a fucking stroke.

Double-posting, but I got a high-quality scan of the page, and he is alive.

Also lol at the bottom caption, because A) it's a really cheesy line, B) it completely invalidates the caption on the page Levi got blown up on (unless it was supposed to be talking about Zeke, but it makes a lot more sense for it to be referring to Levi, but whatever, I guess), and C) Implying that Levi's actions have been meaningless this entire time. They've had meaning. Just not the kind Isayama had in mind.

the caption at the end of manga is always dumb cause the editor writes that. well, I've seen a few that weren't shit. but there's a reason they dont keep that in the volumes.

honestly, that was one of my favorite chapters in a long time. there's no big plot movement, but it reaffirms a lot of what i like in the character writing. it was just an enjoyable read-through. my only complaint is that I still feel gabi's redemption was too easy, though I like that kaya isn't completely comfortable with her yet. even if she's consciously forgiven her, she cant just turn off the emotions she feels like sasha's dad inexplicably can. I get him not killing her but he's waaaay too nice to her too fast. also they're gonna put levi in the plane. I dont know how but it's gonna be set up to where he can control it with the maneuvering gear straps and a flighstick that looks like the sword hilt with more triggers.

Eren vs. Levi Kaiju Titan Fight lol.
I can't believe it might actually be coming to that, but then again, after everything else that's happened so far with the Time-Transcendence, the Nazis, and this entire thing being started over pigs, this actually seems pretty grounded. Honestly, I'm kinda surprised none of us predicted it before.

All I can say is that if they are planning on turning Levi into a titan-shifter, I hope they fuck it up, and he's just stuck as a mindless, ugly-ass titan forever. I mean, I know it's not going to happen, but I can dream.

...Actually, now that I think about it, this would be the perfect solution to Isayama's Levi problem. By turning Levi into a mindless titan, he's not dead, but he's out of the way, and because he's still technically alive, and in the series, he keeps the readership. And on top of all of that, he hurts his readers. Yeah. He could be like the next Sawney, and Bean. They keep him around to try, and find cure for him, or something, like another titan-shifter, but until then, he's out of commission again as a horrific monster. Isayama can keep stringing the fandom along by giving the faint hope that they might be able to save him, and keep his readership afloat, but until then, he can continue dicking around with whatever the fuck is currently happening in the story right now.

Holy shit, this is such an obvious way out, I'm surprised none of us thought of it before. I mean, it's still not gonna happen, because that's actually a really good idea, and Isayama is probably really gunning for a Levi vs Eren fight, but if I had to find a way to get rid of Levi without killing him, this is what I would do.

Also unrelated, but we got another case of surprisingly good art, and once again, it has to do with a really fucked up, gory scene.

Isayama should really just stick to horror, and not whatever this series is now.

Hange did meet up with the only other Titan not truly fleshed out character-wise by pure chance. I can see Hange taking out both of them quickly and then force Levi to eat them. Unless both parties decide to work together which seems even more dumb cause then it’ll be like everyone’s teaming up to beat Eren and that feels like a cop out in and of itself

This is all still stupid and boring and its totally going to rip off 'Eren was only pretending to be evil to untie the world against him'. This is 100% where it seems to be leading unless Isayama magically pulls something out of his ass or just goes the other idiotic route of 'Nah, Eren turned into an idiotic genocidal maniac because'.

I just finished the first season of Vinland Saga and it goes into SO MUCH better detail of what being consumed by revenge does to you, the complex nature of such revenge, loyalty to country and all of the things that Attack on Titan WANTS to attempt to do, but just constantly fails. Even the earlier 'good' parts of AoT are wrecked by Vinland Saga.

Levi's meaning is a constant fuck-up and the only remaining magnet for readers of this series. And I mean, does it matter how he got out of the river? The last thing we need is more filler.

The only way for the story to end without feeling like a cop out, an asspull or Deus Ex Machina is for a total Eren victory. That's it. He's literally a God walking on Earth right now and there's no established way to kill him. (Unless he wants to die, which is a cop out). Or unless @Bunny Tracks said earlier in the thread, surprise nukes. (Deus Ex Nukes).

This is why the story cannot be saved. From all the information, everything we have seen, Eren cannot be beaten. Ymir is on his side. He has a rampaging army of living skyscrapers. He can influence time and space. I cannot stress at how utterly pointless everything is going on at right now. Yet because we're going through the motions of this sort of thing, its implying he can be. Which I will never buy. Someone who planned something so perfectly, who can see through time, who has had his head blown off, loses at his prime moment that he's been planning for years? No.

There's only one way to stop Eren and that's for his friends to talk to him and make him back down. I honestly don't think Isayama is capable of writing something like that, but he could try.

The only way the story will even come close to being half-way decent is total Eren victory and all this being futile with him questioning it at the end, sort of like a rétarded Ozymandias from Watchmen. Or he has some other plan for Marley and we're just not being told about it, as usual. But I just don't see Eren losing without it feeling idiotic.

I mean, there's always the fucktarded Levi vs. Eren Titan fight. Which uh, why? Artist's Depiction of Hange's Emotions during and after turning Levi into a Titan:

So manlet get turns into a cart and then maybe eats Annie so is an armored cart manlet that gets roflstomped by 1,000 titans bigger than any he's fought. Great Job!

If it happens, it'll be like a terrible movie or where everything is suddenly massively nerfed or the antagonist's army disappears because the hero can't win otherwise.

This whole manga is trash, but what used to be a wildfire is now just a boring, slow barrel fire.

the caption at the end of manga is always dumb cause the editor writes that. well, I've seen a few that weren't shit. but there's a reason they dont keep that in the volumes.

Gabi will never be good. She's a pathetic excuse for a character.

Also, the character writing with Annie is the definition of bad writing. We haven't seen or heard about her in four years. Now we get an exposition dump on a character that has had no impact on any major plot points and now we're suddenly supposed to care? That's downright insulting my intelligence. This information may have been relevant, four years ago. Maybe if he didn't stick her in glass and used her as an emergency plot device I might have cared. But I don't. I utterly do not give a shit. What's even worse is that he has to make her know everything, so we don't see ANY growth or development, it just happens. She may as well be a different character. This is a masterclass on bad storytelling right here. But its typical of this autist, showing important moments in a couple of panels on a single page instead of over the course of time

Let me give you an anecdote. While I was cleaning, I left on a shlocky anime from the 80s, Lily C.A.T, which is an impressive anime only for the fact it rips off like 5 different Sci-Fi movies in around an hour or so. Because its an hour, every single character's backstory is a long-winded exposition dump. It was identical to the writing that Isayama tried to pull and he had four fucking years for it. Don't piss on my leg and tell me its raining.

Well you see, Armin, Annie, Reiner and Levi will all team up. Colossal Titan climbs Eren, dies partway. Annie armors up and Levi plus Reiner is on her shoulders for the ride. Annie dies. Reiner mans the fuck up for the fourth time to bring Levi the final distance. Dies as well. Levi finally makes it to the Titan Eren’s nape and attacks. Gabi and that new Titan kid (can’t remember his name) somehow distract Eren. Levi kills Eren through his bloodline berserker powers.

Eren dies taking all hate with him looking out at the beautiful scenery one last time. Somehow Armin, Annie, and Reiner don’t die because Eren builds their bodies back with Ymir powers before dying.

Give me my money. I saved you all an eight months wait.

Honestly, the mere thought of all the titan-shifters stacking themselves on top of each other like they're kids trying to sneak into an R-Rated movie in order to fight Eren has already sent my sides into orbit.

If this becomes canon I will forgive Isayama for everything he has done.

This is so fucking stupid that this sounds correct. Good job.

idk how annie is any different from what she was. she's been this way in every appearance she's had, flashback or regular. her backstory is about what I expected from that little bit of it we got during her second fight with eren. that bit was enough to see where it was going. I just liked the way a lot the characters acted in this chapter in general, especially armin and floch. I'm one of those degenerates who finds floch entertaining. everybody got a bit here. and I never said gabi was good? I think you let this series get to you a bit too much.

I'm sorry, I know this doesn't matter, but is no one gonna talk about how fucking blood tests now exist in this world, and that you can apparently find out if you're an Eldian by taking one?

I guess its not so much the series. I mean, there's really a lot of badly written shit out there. I guess what annoys me and is where my vitriol is directed is at the anime community and normies who think this is a work of genius instead of awfully written shlock. There's so much good shit out there that some dumb garbage gets the attention because it had a good, not even 50%, a good 33%, its paraded around as amazing.

I realize this is mostly the fault of the anime, as the chase scene with Kenny is incredibly animated and the animation, music and direction of the show is top notch. But the problem is I know where it goes. Thank fuck it only has a single season left.

Also, its not like I completely hate the setting. Good things CAN be done with it. The prequel manga, Before the Fall is superior to Attack on Titan in every fucking way. It blends politics and characters almost seamlessly, nobody ever talks about it and the author is a superior storyteller to Isayama. It also has better art. Not to mention it isn't saddled with the problems of the Titan mystery or any of that shit. Being superior, its probably why they don't want to mention it, you don't want what is supposed to be a spin off outshining your main work, which it does.

I'm sorry, I know this doesn't matter, but is no one gonna talk about how fucking blood tests now exist in this world, and that you can apparently find out if you're an Eldian by taking one?

An exposition dump of stuff that should have been explained three years ago is trash? Color me shocked. Also, in reality, there's no fucking 'Jew Blood Test' Isayama, you faggot. We can't even tell if people are black from a genetic test alone. How the fuck does that even work? Do they have a concept of DNA beyond us? Do they have titan magic where if you put your blood on paper it glows? Or something similarly idiotic? Like Christ. His worldbuilding has gotten so fucking bad.

Wait I missed something in this thread.

WHAT?
Well you see, a long-ass time ago, a little girl let out some pigs*, and King Fritz the First was all like "You must die!", and then he, and a bunch of other people chased the kid into the woods. The kid fell down a huge-ass hole under a very unfortunate looking tree onto a huge-ass human spine. The girl then turned into the first titan/titan-shifter, and then King Fritz was all like "You're gonna be my slave/wife/war-machine!" The girl then bore him three daughters Maria, Shina, and Rose. The kid, now a grown-ass woman, was killed by a limbo stick spear stabbing her in the neck, even though as a titan-shifter she should've clearly been able to survive. Father of the Year King Fritz then forced his three daughters to cannibalize their mother to gain her titan powers.

Their mother then somehow became God, or the closest thing this series has to God, and has been chilling out in the PATHs system as her kid self ever since.

And now you know where the titans came from.

*To be fair, we don't actually see the pigs, so it could just be another metaphor for the Jews, or whatever.
