Chapter 129 leaks are out, it's only second hand information and a few blurry pages, but it's from the same person who's given accurate leaks every chapter.

Here's a basic rundown
  • Armin and Connie learn fucking nothing and slaughter everyone they can.
  • Reiner and Annie get the fucking shit kicked out of them by the Jaegerists. Isayama doesn't realize that a surefire to get the audience to root for nameless characters is to have them give named characters a run for their money. TR-8R from Star Wars and the Stark Jegan and Byarlant Custom from Gundam Unicorn are prime examples
  • Falco at some point transforms for some reason, his Titan form looks like "a Griffin but without the wings". Why is he here again and not at the farm?
  • Shadis betrays Paradis because he's salty Floch had the shit kicked out of him.
  • Shadis and Magath become friends because they're both boomers.
  • Shadis and Magath have to sacrifice themselves for the other Cringevengers, they need to blow up the harbor to prevent anyone from following them. Apparently Paradis only has one harbor.
  • Gabi 360 no scopes again, this time it's Floch. But don't worry! She only hit his arm, the shot tore it off and knocked him into the water. He'll be back to fuck shit up again in a few chapters.
  • The Cringevengers leave on a boat. We don't know if this is because the plane got destroyed or if there's just not enough room for all of them on it.
  • Cringevenger fans plead for you have some faith in Isayama. All your complaints will vanish when we get the ending, goddamn it!
Oh c'mon, no. Isayama had to ruin Shadis, too? Why? Also, Hange had a crush on him? When? Why? This is so fucking dumb.

Secondly, how do they only have one harbor, and good fucking god, Falco's titan form looks like a shitty Deviantart OC.

of course gabi takes out floch. thanks isayama. really. it's not as bad as that bit where he tried to parallel her and sasha. he reallllllyy wants to sell her by giving her moments like this. I don't think anyone is gonna buy. the rest of the battle was alright, just kinda perfunctory. the last part of it felt better choreographed. maybe I just gotta read it again and pay closer attention. but it felt like hey here's some guys flying around and people get gibbed. and now reiner and annie are gibbed oh no but wait here's bird titan. okay this part of the plot is finished we have the plane now we can do the part that actually matters. idk if I like the bird titan or not yet. I like this panel at least

jaw1.png

but then in this panel he looks like a muppet

jaw2.png

still, the early scans are always garbage, I might like him better in the official release.

Based on his material I imagine Isayama eminates such bitter misanthropy so much that nobody wants to suffer him as a colleague. (relatively) young comic artist who is a hard nationalist = bet he blames all of current Japan on WW2 and is a turboautist fanboy for how it should've gone in his head.
Isayama strikes me more as one of those ultranationalists who's been pissed off at the U.S. ever since Admiral Perry payed Japan a visit back in 1853.

Cry moar, Isayama, your nation is a stagnant island with a neutered military and a people who won't fuck each other when they prefer 2D false idols of their own making.
You're thinking of western Europe in regards of neutered militaries, Japan however been continuously building up and modernizing the JSDF since its formation.

If anyone here was familiar with the GoT fanbase before season 8 ended, what was it like as the quality got worse with each episode? I'm asking becuase I noticed the AoT circlejerk is getting a LOT more defensive lately. I've seen a shit load of comments about how we've gotta have some fucking faith in Isayama. They range from just screaming about how the cirtics are just fascist Nazis (which is really fucking ironic, seeing how they're the ones supporting what is very obviously Nazi Germany), to "Look, I get the last few chapters aren't the best AoT has ever had, but we can't lose faith in Isayama! He's given us over ten years of a masterpiece manga!" Tellingly, negative comments about the latest chapter are way more common outside of the AoT subreddits. I'd say about 3/4of them are negative.

So was the GoT community similarly insecure about the show's quality or was the universal backlash towards the final season a surprise?

Also, can somone tell me what the fuck is going on in this shot?

At first I thought Gabi shot the Thunderspear, it blew up, and Floch lost his right arm. But now that I'm looking at it again, you can see in the second shot that Floch has both his arms intact. But in the first shot, that's clearly an explosion (it can't be steam from firing the shot, the location is wrong, it's drawn like there's fire, and Floch's hair is blown back) and his right arm is obliterated.

But in the second shot, you can see the Thunderspear hit the water, so it seems like Isayama's intention was that the shot made Floch miss, but in the first shot his arm is very clearly destroyed by an explosion.

So what the fuck did Gabi hit and what exactly did the shot do?

I can't answer the first question because I'm not a fan of GoT, but I can tell you that the people telling everyone to have faith sound just like Dutch van der Linde and we all know how well it turned out for him and everyone else involved, so...

As for the Floch thing, the shot might've missed him and his arm is just behind him. Or he's a titan-shifter, and he just healed really fast. Or Isayama fucked up again and it's just another continuity error. Take your pick.

I assumed that Gabi just shot and disabled his right arm, which did forced Floch to misfire and sent him landing in the water.

I mean, the question is, why isn't he doing that now? Is Mikasa going to swing up to Eren and have this conversation:

"Eren, why you doing this?"

"Its the only way to have peace Mikasa! To end racism I must annihilate all the other races!"

"But like, don't you talk to and communicate with literally God?"

"Well, uh yeah."

"Can you ask her if there's another way besides mass genocide?"

"Hold up, I'll check."

"..."

"Shit, there is! Thanks Mikasa, you're the best! I don't know why I didn't think of talking to a literal fucking God to see. I just thought murder would be the best. And I like murder!"

Is Eren a genocidal Ralph from the Simpsons or fucking something like that? Even if Eren has to die or witness everyone die in front of him or something forces him into PATHS, it still begs the question: why didn't you try that first, instead of committing mass murder of men, women and children? And the answer will be that this story is fucking garbage.

Well you see @Secret Asshole Eren kind of forgot...

It was clearly a massive, constant crater that dipped with each episode until it was basically indefensible. There are very, VERY few people who will defend season 8. The universal opinion, from cast to audience, is that it destroyed the show, its legacy and its future potential. What we're basically witnessing is a Game of Thrones collapse around the beginning of Season 8, where there were still doubters. I mean, each episode dropped in quality until the terrible fucking finale. So basically the fandom became more aligned against the show as each episode progressed.

But yeah, the subreddits are fucking cancer. But from what I'm seeing, they're an exception. Even fucking /a/ on 4chan has turned against it. This is a bad sign. They've been massive simps for Isayama and its gotten worse. They're not even shipping anymore, they're just mocking him. The funniest fucking thing is that everywhere I'm looking, EVERYONE is rooting for Eren. Isayama MASSIVELY fucked up. People deliberately want the others to fail and are universally tired of the Jagerist/Scout garbage. So I think basically the scales are falling from people's eyes.

I think the funniest thing this chapter:

"We just want to talk about an alliance about stopping Eren"
*brutally murdering everyone*
"Why are you running, we just want to talk"
*proceeds to shoot running soldiers in the back*

The thing is, ten years doesn't matter. GoT was like 8 and the last season destroyed it. The destination matters WAY WAY more than people think it does. As for what is happening, I just started laughing, because out of context it just looks like:

"I'M GONNA SAVE ELDIA"
*misses and is thrown off balance into the ocean*

What LOOKS LIKE happened is that Gabi shot the thunder spear just behind his arm, it threw him off balance and he shot it into the ocean and then fell into the water. But Isayama's art is so fucking bad it is hard to tell exactly what is going on.

Well you see @Secret Asshole Eren kind of forgot...

Eren kind of forgot he has a literal God on his side and he can manipulate time and space. Best solution is clearly murder. I'm thinking he didn't forget, but just likes that murder.

As for the Floch thing, the shot might've missed him and his arm is just behind him. Or he's a titan-shifter, and he just healed really fast. Or Isayama fucked up again and it's just another continuity error. Take your pick.

Remember when people thought the massive trash that was Isayama's art was evidence of time fuckery and complex plots? I do. But nope, it was just him being a perpetual fuck up.

Attack on Titan Creator Says Series Has '5 Percent' of Story Left
Article (Archive)
Attack on Titan has been fiercely running through its final arc with every new chapter of the series, and it seems like the end is coming soon as series creator Hajima Isayama teases there's only "five percent" of story left to tell. The final arc of the series has been running for over well over a year now, and each new chapter has been more intense than the last as Isayama continues to lay the groundwork for the final battle for humanity. But it seems like that final battle is coming up faster than anyone would have guessed.

As noted by @KenXyro and many other fans in Japan on Twitter, Attack on Titan series creator Hajime Isayama recently noted in a special interview that he estimates that "only about five percent]" of the story is left before the series comes to its conclusion. @KenXyro estimated this means there are about 6-7 chapters left, but that's only if Isayama is being literal here.
At the same time, 6-8 chapters seems like enough to take care of the finale. Not only will it end the series by early 2021, but there's honestly not a lot of work left to do for the final battle outside of actually kicking it into action. The players have been set, the final villain of the series has made their mark, and the world really hangs in the balance.

Are you all up to date with Attack on Titan's manga? Does Hajime Isayama's estimate make sense for how far it's come in the last few months? How do you think it will all come to an end? Let us know your thoughts in the comments or reach out to me directly about all things animated and other cool stuff.

Any thoughts on this?
First of all, if Isayama is being literal, and this does mean that the manga is gonna end sometime in 2021 and the last season is supposed to be out this year, this means that the studio is gonna have to come up with their own ending. Not gonna lie, I'm not happy about this, but I do understand it from a business perspective. Better to try and come up with something decent than to present something you know is going to be absolute shit. I just hope they keep the pigs, Nazis, time-travel, ending racism via global genocide, etc.

Secondly, I doubt there's only five percent left. There can't be. Isayama threw in way too much shit like the Yeagerists, and Historia's pregnancy and all the other stuff for that to even be possible. I also don't think you can wrap everything up in only six-seven chapters like this guy estimated. For that to be true, he's gonna have to condense and skip over a lot of shit, and that's not gonna work out well. This is yet another example of Isayama shooting himself in the foot in regards to his own story.

Lastly, if there is only five percent left, and the estimate of there only being six-seven chapters left, how the fuck does this thing actually end? I'm placing my bets on any of these:
  • A) Eren's titan-cancer kicks in and kills him (yes, I know the timing would be off, but I don't expect Isayama to remember that).
  • B) Mikasa Talk no Jutsu's him into stopping.
  • C) Deus Ex Nukes.
  • D) He succeeds and kills everyone.
  • E) He goes back in time and prevents himself from ever being born and whatever. Something like that
  • F) Either Eren or one of the other titan-shifters uses the PATHs system and this is how we get the timeloop.
  • G) Historia shows up with the baby, and it's revealed that it's his and he stops because he's a father now and whatever.
Keep in mind, if most of these happen, the main cast still has to deal with the rest of the world literally wanting to holocaust them, on top of everything else, so yeah. What we've been saying all along is true.

This is a fucking disaster. The studio knows it. The publishers know it. Everyone knows it except for the majority of the fanbase because they're dumb as rocks and have only seen the anime. It's such a disaster that the studio is not even going to wait for the manga to end, and they're going to try and come up with their own ending in an attempt to salvage any of this.

There's nothing left to tell. I'd be more surprised if he said there was a lot more left. But then again Isayama is completely autistic, so his five percent may be 50 more chapters.

But yeah, people act all incredulous. If the manga was this close to ending, why not just wait the few months and finish it off right? Most animes don't get that chance. The reason is: Its trash. Everyone knows this. Its fucking obvious. People go 'hurr asshole, AoT is amazing, it getting just 4 seasons doesn't prove anything'.

Yes, it does. Shield Hero got 3 seasons off of ONE season, which is almost unheard of. But you're telling me, AoT, perhaps the most popular modern anime on the fucking planet, cannot get 5 or 6 seasons to wrap up the story because anime is 'like that'? No, its not. Everyone knows the fanbase is going to crater after the basement. It happened in the fucking manga you dumb faggots. Why do you think they're ending it after the basement? The readership dropped off by HALF. Its in the numbers you fucks.

After the basement, the majority of the fandom retreated into idiotic theories and then basically went to shipping and now they're basically out of that, so now they're just getting bored. The story is trash. Everyone but the fandom knows it. The only sad thing about this is the AoT music and animation is AMAZING. Its just all wasted on this pure garbage.

Each new chapter has been more intense

Hahaa, no. Its been all filler.

*ignores the literal God for some dumb political bullshit*

So intense, right?

I have so many questions

Why did they both sacrificed their lives? Wasn't enough if Magath done it alone?
Also I really hope Floch isn't dead yet, it feels cheap, also Sasha's marksmanship skills whilst good were more grounded in reality, why is Gabi able to always no scope 360 everyone?

I am 100% serious. Well, maybe like, 90%.

He left the mag that ran AoT in June 2016 and killed his wife August 2016 after he got another editing gig. So it like he didn't go crazy and quit and then immediately murdered his wife. It'd make a better story, I know, but it was a couple of months later and he was still gainfully employed. Still, he did quit and then shortly thereafter killed his wife.

I mean, I've got this crazy idea that when I write things, they should be fun and entertaining for the audience. Even if its just for this forum with my rants or threads or for the mass market. Its revolutionary, right? If you're writing and someone else is reading, you should provide them some value or at least entertainment! What a novel concept! I'm shocked someone didn't think of this before. I'm just tired of faggot authors being too good for 'fun'. I hate all of them and think all of them are trash. I'm not reading a suicidal Frenchman's book on nihilistic philosophy you dumb autist. I don't give a shit.

This story is fucking. miserable. Ever since Eren turned into a God there's been no movement in the narrative. The apocalypse is happening, I don't care about factions fighting over scraps. It has been such a fucking slog. They're not even talking about or dealing with a living God walking upon the Earth. The Jagerists shouldn't even be bothered to fight anyone! If my side has a fucking God and you've got...what...Reiner, whose ass has been beat constantly, a cart and a girl who just got out of a coma? Why even bother? That should be the narrative.

It should be soul crushing fear for those opposed to Eren, and utter jubilation to the point of mania for those who supported him, on the verge of religious fervor, to the point of not even caring about their enemies. God has come down from fucking heaven and is walking on Earth. Why would I even throw a punch your way. I'd let you do whatever you want, because I'd believe at that point you'd have lost. That's how you refocus your plot.

That's what SHOULD BE going on right now because that's what EVERYONE is interested in. But no, we have to do this faggot faction infighting because he has no fucking clue how to resolve a living God descending upon the Earth. I'll give you a hint Isyama, you don't, because in the world you built, you can't. Eren just wins with what you've set up. If you didn't want him to win, YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE LET HIM GET TO THIS POINT IN THE FIRST FUCKING PLACE. The only way Eren loses is an asspull. That's it.

He controls Ymir and is effectively fucking immortal. Zeke got killed, quite literally, got BLOWN THE FUCK UP INTO ANOTHER DIMENSION and Ymir just rebuilt him, even though he was quite clearly, very fucking dead. What bullshit faggot logic are you going to give me for Eren not just constantly respawning every time he dies? Even if they KILL EREN, they can't STOP HIM. He has the force of life, death, time and space on his side. Nuke him with a Tsar Bomba, who gives a shit.

Let me put this into perspective. To stop Eren, you have to kill Ymir. If you kill Ymir, you're killing a tortured, mutilated young child, separating her from someone who gave her freedom. The hero of the manga, who stops Eren, will be someone that kills an abused child who was rescued from 2,000 years of hell. That's Attack on Titan, ladies and gentlemen.
FMA managed to have a good “fighting God” bit, but only because it showed them having a countermeasure prepared and ready for when the villain’s “become god” plan came to fruition.

>implying Isayama remembers that shit

The readership dropped off by HALF. Its in the numbers you fucks.

I mean there's a difference and it's not because it's "garbage" since it's still doing well with most people. It's because there were issues with WIT Studio which originally did the series that were at fault with budgeting issues along with having too many animators overworking which is what caused Season 3 to split in half, and Iseyama wants to have some clear control over the anime's production as he helped with the Uprising arc in the anime because he didn't like it in the manga and sort of schedules things within the anime as a way to "draw parallels" with his manga, and he also places foreshadowing in the endings.

AOT's anime issues was due to not having a very reliable studio and Iseyama really wanting to have some control on the anime adaption which I don't think many studios really want or it could just be that other studios have other big projects to work on that AOT doesn't finish their schedule.

I feel a better comparison to this would've been Full Metal Alchemist because Arakawa was doing their final arc while Brotherhood was airing and made sure to get through to it so the team of Brotherhood could animate it. Hell while it was divided, Arakawa gave full creative freedom to the 2003 FMA team since she knew she wouldn't have finished the manga by then.

As for current AOT, it's not much of a surprise Iseyama is taking influence from Western Media for his most recent stuff since his original ending was literally a ripoff of the ending to The Mist.

I've seen the comparisons to Evangelion in the past few pages, but to be honest, I don't think it's particularly accurate. EVA at least was a character exploration on what escapism does to you. Hideaki Anno is kind of well known for using that story to tell people all the negative outcomes of what being an Otaku does to you... which fell on deaf ears. It had some sense of self improvement themes in it.

Attack on Titan on the other hand, is just Isayama's unfiltered rage at this point. Things don't get better not because they can't, things don't get better because he's so narrow minded about what he's trying to do. The nihilism game is so strong in this guy it doesn't even warrant a Shinji comparison. Also, I think Isayama loves doing this to his readers. He thrives in it. Anno absolutely despises having to come back and work on EVA Rebuild because that entire set of movies was his "fuck you guys for not getting the message and turning my small show into a cult".
