Oh my God, that fucking needless time manipulation plot twist was so fucking retarded.

>Eren plotting his own mother's death before he was even born and before he even had the Attack Titan.
Fuck me, I refuse to believe the author didn't do this ending as a troll to spite the editors or someone.

The funniest thing to me is that the time-travel shenanigans prove Eren did the Rumbling simply because he wanted to. If there truly is no limit to how far you can go back with PATHs, he could've just gone back in time, and told Ymir to keep that pigpen shut. That, and like the dozens other things thing that could've prevented all of this.

But no. Eren's too violent, stupid, and selfish, and that's the point, or at least, it should be.

I'll keep saying, should have stopped at the ocean. Can't think of another place after that where you can end the series without everything becoming pants on head stupid.

Hell he could even solve the whole racism bullshit by telling King Cuck to actually slowly make Titan powers obsolete and give reparations the oppressed instead of fucking off and letting them become a repeat of the same empire he was ashamed of.

A fucking idiot could figure this out but it's clear Isayama put time shit in because he saw it in some movie or tv show and thought it was cool.

The problem is the way the entire plot is written is extremely contrived. Basically Isyama wrote it so everyone had to be extremely fucking retarded for this to happen.

Like beyond braindead, lead and mercury poisoning retarded. Its where the protagonists have literally all the better options and godlike abilities, but for some reason they choose the most idiotic, violent and dumbfuck options for no real reason.

But the most obvious reason as to why is Isayama didn't have a clue where he was going, nothing was planned and he wrote himself in a corner when he got bored of Titans for his weirdo WWII, Game of Thrones retarded bullshit.

Well yeah that's really obvious especially because he flat out admitted he was inspired by a Japan WWII drawing for the ending because the Rumbling was apparently an analogue to the Japan bombings.

The centipede spine thing would have been fine if this hack author just EXPLAINED it. Since the story has a clear reliance on things from the Bible, he could have just made the magic spine be related to Biblical giants and that the devil corrupted the spine at some point which is what causes mindless titans to eat humans. Literally anything would have been fine. As it is now it's literally just "Ymir was turned into a Titan because plot lol".
I figured it was some convoluted way of saying that TItans became titans because evolution and survival instinct or something.

It's Eren's birthday today, and I have nothing to add besides the fact that I wish the anime would hurry the fuck up, and end already so I can finally move on from this series.
They will never end despite the bold claim.

You can just stop, you know.

dude when normies see the shit they're gonna flip, that's what I'd say if the major animes (yes counting this one) had any relevancy left, I guess can blame the representation of my bad side in this comment, which got me into this.
Seriously speaking now, I understand that hype is not what it used to be, not even a sliver of it, for the main "b side" animes like AoT, Bleach, anything that's not One Piece basically, but it's like everything's gone tepid af, I think the studios take too long between seasons, hence why the retention is so short lived and fleeting, I don't think people are buying Jujutsu Kaisen action figures, or limited TCG sets, this taking into account how utter of a pile of shit USA comix are, it's like people have shut the fuck up about anime, when will we see another pull á-lá dragon ball?

Reading newer posters go over the numerous absolutely awful plot points in this series only heightens my annoyance at Isayama's hubris and incompetence.
You had one fucking job you hack:
Just continue to capitalize on the zombie craze of the late 2000s and keep doing what made your work popular, but noooooooooooo! You had to be a subversive edgelord didn't you? You had to bite off more than you could chew.
The arrogance behind these decisions and that comment about wanting to hurt his fans and open an onsen with their tears, and then faceplanting this hard. Ugh! If anyone shits in his onsen I'd totally understand.
There are several fan sites and forums where people praise the reveal of the shining centipede as being one of the best plot points in the entire story though. And they argue that it enhances the story in every single way. But I do not see it. I found it to be the worst aspect of the entire story.
That's probably because it's a copy and paste of a real organism believed to have been the first creature to walk or something stupid and every animal supposedly evolved from.
It seems like just having a reference to actual evolutionary history is enough to have these plebes go "wow so deep and clever". They're the types to clap like seals when a story they're reading references the garden of Eden or something equally basic.
Like others have said, it's fine to use centipede-kun but you can't just leave it with 0 explanation.
Also, was centipede-kun the same as worm-chan? That ending was such a disaster.
I get what they were trying to go for. Sasha's dad, Mr. Braus, is wise enough to realize that Gabi is just a little kid fighting in a war she doesn't really understand, as the behest of adults like him that don't really give a shit if she lives or dies. She and Sasha were soldiers and shit happens. He's willing to let it go because he knows nothing he does now would bring Sasha back, and its pointless to hold a grudge. Maybe the scene could have been done better, but I got what Isayama was going. And, hey, weirder things have happened in real life. There are stories of soldiers meeting former enemy soldiers who literally tried to kill them years later and having pleasant conversations with them. Sasha's dad has nothing on shit that's happened in real life: There was a white South African dad whose daughter was raped and butchered by a bunch of black guys. He not only forgave the rapists, but asked for clemency on their behalf and tried to excuse their behavior.
The thing about that scene that I'm surprised so many people are not mentioning, is not that Sasha's dad threw her under the bus. It's that he did it for the walking shitstain that is Gabi. She'd proven herself to that point to be an irredeemable piece of shit that constantly instigated conflict and ran right into harm's way and yet just wouldn't die. Isayama makes you despise her more and more with every scene, wishing for her to just die, then finally creates a situation where she just might get what she deserves, only to blueball you by having Sasha's father blame her for dying.
It's the combination of all of this that makes that scene so distasteful imo. Think about it. If it was just Falco in that scene and Sasha's dad forgave him, would you hate it as much? Isayama completely botched the most basic of story arc: the redemption arc. He can't seem to do anything right beyond setting up the story.

Every time I think about any plot point of this series, I'm amazed at how incompetent this author is. This might be the biggest case of dumb luck ever, to have such a terrible writer and artist somehow start a story that captivated so many and made so much money.

Also, I saw some clickbait article talking about a rumoured part 4 for season 4. Is that confirmed already or would this be yet another delay to this imminent car crash?

Real talk, this is also it.

Gabi sucks. She really sucks. Say what you want about Levi, or hell, even Eren, they have moments where they're at least kinda cool, and likable, at least in the beginning of the series. The closest Gabi ever gets to that is when she no-scopes Eren's head, and even then, it's more of a giant WTF moment than anything.

Compare, and contrast Gabi, and Sasha for a moment. Sasha is kind, funny, has a unique skill with her archery, and her backstory is one that's actually pretty noble because she joins the military, risking her very life, just to make her parents proud. She's arguably one the most relatable, and realistic characters in the series. She also didn't hog the spotlight either.

Gabi, on the other hand, is bratty, bitchy, smug, racist, blatantly mary-sueish, and is forced into focus for no good reason other Isayama wanting her to be. She's just straight-up unlikable. Even if she didn't kill Sasha, I still wouldn't like her. She's just awful, and no, her being a child soldier isn't an excuse. The entire main cast of the series is made up of child soldiers, so people can fuck off with that argument.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I start to wonder if Sasha's parents just hated her, and that's why they took in the one that killed her. Nothing else explains it to me, and I am sick of people trying to defend it.

Imagine your baby girl joining the military for the sole purpose of making you proud, and not only blaming her for her death when she dies in the line of fire, you use her death as an excuse to speechify about the most retarded, nonsensical shit ever, and you replace her with the person who killed her.

That is some straight-up psychopathic shit, and it's completely, and utterly inexcusable.

Honestly this talk about Sasha's parents makes me think something.

Are there any actual good parents in the series? Sure the audience can have the characters tell us they are good parents but the only good parents in the series either get killed or tortured, placed offscreen, or are absolute dicks that at best learn their lesson at the very end.

Do you think Isayama probably has daddy issues at home?
