tpn lost the plot earlier but I'm including it because fuck that series. all the tension disappears after goldy pond (that'll be season 2 or 3 for you anime folks). imagine the exact opposite of what we have now in aot, lets say the series stayed mostly a monster survival series but we know there's now intelligent titans who have culture and shit. this starts out decent until after the end of the last good arc (goldy pond, s2 or s3 to be for you anime folks) and without warning the series which had been giving you information that you felt the characters earned and built up to, is suddenly all information is withheld from you but not the characters unlike before, the tension and danger disappears entirely, and eren talk no jutsus his way through everything, and the whole series is happy happy conveniet convenient all the way till the end where eren convinces the titans to stop eating them and they all live happily ever after the end. attack on titan I still find entertaining no matter how much isayama fucks up. promised neverland actively bothers me for how sudden and severely it collapsed.

I remember people HATED it when it was still going, but I got into it late so I got to read most of it all at once. that series was lolwut all the way through, it was only natural to LOLWUT the lolwut for the last arc. he forgets to explain a LOT of shit he built up in phase 2 (fucking vampires) but the ride was so damn good I didn't care. anything important gantz is ever trying to say is in short term arcs. when ridiculous shit and sudden deaths happen they don't fuck up existing narratives because they were finished several chapters ago. but it's got enough long term story to keep you invested, it's not completely episodic. this mumbling anime person gives a better argument for the series than I can

1) This gets stupid. So for King Cuck to protect himself, he establishes a bloodline where combat ability is passed down through PATHS. Basically all combat experience flows down into them through previous descendants. So it explains why Levi and Mikasa are super duper awesome at murder. Not thanks to talent or anything, because their bloodline allows them access to past Ackerman's combat abilities.

Also the Ackergenes instill compulsory loyalty in Mikasa and Levi to never ever betray King Cuck. King Cuck was eaten by Eren's dad, who was then eaten by Eren, so the Ackergenes compel Mikasa to be 100% loyal to Eren no matter what (its an incredibly fucking stupid device that effectively removes agency from Mikasa in order to autistically explain something that didn't need explaining). There's also the implication that either Eren or Eren's dad set up the whole Mikasa incident so Eren would have an Ackerman completely loyal to him. Its stupid, its fucking idiotic and adds nothing. I'm probably not explaining this correctly, but I don't give a shit since the concept is retarded.

2) No. There is no consistent narrator for the story. It shifts, depending.

3) Yeah. He eats the Colossal Titan, who had a hard on for Annie, which then transfers to Armin, who is then to implied to 'visit' Annie and Armin maybe did some Shinji/Asuka things.

5) Everyone except for Eren. Eren has been the only driver of the plot since basically years now. Its honestly just Eren's story, nobody else really matters all that much, and everything is secondary. If it doesn't push Eren's story forward, it really doesn't matter.

I still liked narutaru but I appreciate that the guy kinda cooled off after that. after the middle and late sections of narutaru he probably just got all his unhappiness with the world out of his system. bokurano and futago no teikoku are dark but never outright fatalistic. hell even narutaru's ending it's still kinda hopeful. the planet was already fucked and the protagonist simply helped reset it back to zero, with the option to remake the world and repopulate it with whatever kind of life she chose. where as eren's plan doesn't leave the possibility for life outside of eldia and the ocean. assuming this isn't some fakeout. I hope it isn't. call it edgy but I love a good "blow it all to hell" ending. it's usually a fun ride. what else would be better at this point? I don't see any other option that wouldn't be a cop out.

it's only one arc and they cut it down significantly (nobody shooting up heroin before they fight monsters ) but we got a glimpse of what gantz could be with an actual budget. I didn't even know japan could do cgi like this. especially after how bad a job they did on blame (another better series isayama took inspiration from, and the wachowskis for that matter). a series as visually complicated as gantz is probably infeasible for a full adaption. same reason we're never getting a good berserk (and another one).

I was thinking on this earlier, and if I suddenly was put in charge of Attack on Titan from this point and I was forced into everything that happened and couldn't change a single thing, I'd just go balls-out insane. Just literal anime-batshit, people turning into cars, and killing God Satan. I'd shift focus to Mikasa and she receives a PATHS message from a past Eren. He relays to her that current Eren has been completely consumed by the Attack Titan. Past Eren also reveals that the entire world is in an endlessly repeating time loop designed by the devil. The world is organized as it is now because Satan craves human suffering, so the constant loop of people getting devoured and destroyed feeds these devils, who reside outside of time and space.

PATHS itself is something beyond time and related to the root of creation by God, through his avatar Jesus Ymir. However, the devil trapped Ymir in a deep slumber. It turns out Eren has been doing this for thousands upon thousands of times, but has always left little hints to himself so things would be different each time. Now he's finally awakened Jesus Ymir, but his soul has been consumed once more. Only someone who is untainted by the Titans and can travel through PATHS can stop the cycle. The Nine Titans actually represent the nine circles of hell.

The rest of the manga is Mikasa going through the nine circles of hell with Virgil Eren, just killing the ever living fuck out of demons Titans and at the end of each circle 'killing' a Titan that resembles one of the nine Titans, but in more devilized forms. Each circle of hell would be representative of a period of time discussed previously in the manga. Just get it back to basic, pure horror routes. Go full Clive Barker, Hellraiser, Books of Blood, Divine Comedy. Full-bore hell imagery, fuck go full Grimdark and start ripping off 40k Chaos imagery. Also, important point, you NEVER cut back to the 'real world' because it no longer fucking matters.

In the Ninth Circle, she has to destroy the consumed Eren. The ninth circle is also symbolic for Mikasa, because the ninth circle in the Divine Comedy represents Betrayal (see I'm even putting symbolism in this bitch), who has become Satan. So through this betrayal, Mikasa saves the world and the time loop is broken, and the manga ends where it began, except there are no walls, Mikasa and Eren are outside and neither of them have any memory of what happened. Titans no longer exist, Jesus Ymir goes back to heaven and Mikasa killed fucking Satan. The end. I don't care how little sense it makes, the manga doesn't give a fuck half the time so I don't see why I should have to either.

I don't care if this is a last minute asspull. I guarantee it'd be more entertaining and fun than what we have now. Make Mikasa a shonen protagonist. NOW IS HER TIME.

Yes, yes I do.

To keep it very brief, people found Isayama's personal social media a few years ago, and it turned out that he's a hardline Japanese nationalist who is really pissed that Japan lost WWII.

This explains why AoT has always sort of had WWII references in it (one example being Erwin being named after Erwin Rommel, the famous Nazi general), but it's still unclear as to why Isayama cracked, and suddenly made his entire story one big revenge fic about a fictional Japan winning a fictional WWII.
