I'm just imagining Ymir does some time fuckery, eliminates the rumbling and the Titans. Eren and Mikasa lives in a cabin. Historia marries the farmer because she loves him. Levi opens a tea shop. Zeke sometimes visits Eren and Mikasa's baby. Sasha's still alive.

I just don't see where you go from here without a deus ex machina. I don't see it by I'm not Isayama

Probably because the deus has been in full view for several chapters at this point.

In fact, I don't think you would technically be able to call it a deus ex machina if it isn't meant to solve some jam he wrote himself into. Maybe the resolution of this chapter-- and in particular, the Rumbling-- would be the jam, but I'm not so sure.

No update on the Levi friend yet, we had to try to find some manga sites to get her going. It's been a while since i've pirated manga so if anyone has good places hmu. I gave her mangarock and mangadex but we're trying to find a more 'up to date" solution since apparently these websites are a bit out of date on the popular stuff.

The Jean friend however, had this to say about the ending.
For context this all came about after we found some weird cringy Jean cardboard cutout thing and then we talked about if Isayama is turnin everyone into titans to kill them, to then I explained the school days ending and brought up "I want to see Eren's head in a duffle bag" this was her responses that she wanted me to share with you all. Forgive the autism on both of our parts it was late as fuck.

"see all I want to see is mikasa get riddled with bullets but still somehow live cuz "it didnt hit my heart uwu" and then she goes on a rampage and kills everyone else who still is alive except for reiner so he can live his life in suffering for the rest of his life and mikasa makes eren's decapitated head into her personal sex toy where she fucks his neck "

Which I brought up Reiner and the worm wrestling somebody brought up in here, to which in return she replied

"listen either eren comes back deus ex machina style or mikasa uses eren's decapitated head to eat her out/get all up in her pussy theres no way else i see this going "

She's here to watch this shit storm burn with the rest of us while we pour 1 out for Reiner's suffering and a big ol F to Jean.

When eren first activated the rumbling, Reiner was ejected out of the armoured titan (his titan literally turned to dust because eren willed so) The sentence "Oh no eren is dead" has been said like a million times throughout the series.. Eaten by Santa, Annie, fucked by warhammer and jaw, decapitated by "lil shit", nuked by mong, and now "itterashaii" by Mikasa.. idk man idt he's dead.
Eren could come back from ymirs world anytime so... We are winning right?

Ironic that Aaron Yoghurt is more of a chad than Eren Yaeger since he just gets free pussy while Eren got family-zoned.

I just don't understand how Mikasa's vision of Eren exists. If he ran away with her if she confessed, then he's never able to connect with Zeke, go back through Paths, and encourage Grisha to eat Frieda and the rest of the Reiss family, so Grisha dies in that cavern and is never able to pass the Attack Titan to Eren. Which means that when Eren gets eaten by that titan in Trost, that's it, he dies. And Mikasa dies too, since she was basically on a suicide run and seconds away from being eaten when Eren saved her life. I know time travel plots are full of problems like this but it's a really glaring issue, either Eren's words to Grisha had 0 impact and Grisha was going to eat the royals anyway, or this is some fever dream by Mikasa because if Eren runs away with her they both die long before getting to this point.

EDIT: Also abandoning his friends to die at the hands of the Marleyan military feels wildly out of character. At minimum he'd want to take Armin with them.

The impact is kind of lost when you consider that Mikasa clearly had a thing for Eren, the reason she family-zoned him was because she's always had cold feet.

That projection only makes sense if Grisha's confrontation happened in a complete vacuum. Why is it certain that the timeline where Grisha doesn't slaughter the Reiss family is a timeline where Eren still gets ate and Mikasa dies in a suicide run?

That's my theory, seeing as we already saw Eren experiencing the memory of Grisha slaughtering the family without any indication that he heard his own voice.

The entire trajectory of the narrative hinges on whether Eren can recognize that his pent up rage is just his desire to bang his adoptive sister, and how early he does. The later it happens, the harder he simps. In that future, it happens so late he consigns all his friends and his country to die without even telling them where he is. Instead of Mikasa proving her freedom to herself by killing her supposed "host", she proves it by simultaneously making that connection real and performing a role reversal. /sneed

Did you ever watch The Lost Girls ova, or read that manga? It foreshadowed this. That Mikasa imagines, or goes to, these weird fantasy worlds where she thinks she's going to get what she wants, only to realize things are doomed anyway. It's either an Ackerpower, or something particular to her.

In the ova, her parents aren't killed because the kidnappers are eaten by dogs. So she never gets her Ackerwakening. So she doesn't live with Eren, so he gets beat up the whole time. So she wishes to be with him, which seems to give her pregnant mother preeclampsia so they have to move to Shiganshina. And she wishes for him to be safe from going outside the walls so the gates are plugged up, and the scouts disbanded, and it's almost implied that the outside Warrior threat doesn't exist. But Eren still wants to be free, so he and Armin build a flying machine. Then he dies in a hot air balloon accident. Then she wakes up right in time for the Attack Titan to save her in Trost.

The point is, the girl can dissociate an entire years worth of 'what if' in a second.

Oh, so that's where that scene of them hanging out came from. Turns out I only watched some of the OVAs, and then I watched a compilation of EreMika moments. I'm watching the first clip thinking, "I know WIT has shippers on deck, but this is ridiculous-- this literally has no space in the timeline".

...that might just be the answer to the puzzle.
