I'm just a casual fan, anime only.
But I don't get this at all. It seems like Eren could have had Mikasa at any time in the anime, but he never showed any interest. I think he even got pissy when people called them a couple.
Like maybe if they had given Mikasa a new love interest, this jealousy would make more sense.

The only time Eren gave any indication he may have had feelings for Mikasa was during the “what am I to you” scene, and even then, Isayama pulled some outright retconning considering he once said the following in an old interview:

“For Eren, rather than a lover, Mikasa’s presence is more like a mother to him. The love towards a mother is considered valuable [precious], however at the same time, there are annoying parts as well [laugh]. Just like towards one’s actual mother, Eren will start to grow up when he becomes independent [move away/not dependent on] from Mikasa, I might draw this scene one day.”

Granted, this was years ago, but it still proves Isayama didn’t know what the fuck he was doing. Eren’s characterization is a hot mess of inconsistency.

Well, it was also a farewell, like 'You are all Big Bosses in my eyes', which is why I assumed he made it like he did. That and Kojima likes to fuck with people too. Shame he wasn't allowed to finish 5 properly.

That was definitely what Kojima was going for, it's just a shame the game wasn't actually finished because it could have ended the series on a good note.

Why Konami felt like it just had to come out in 2015 and not 2016 I don't know, same thing with Silent Hill 4 just having to come out in 2004 and not 2005, Konami just had to give us one last fuck you before basically bowing out of being a video game company altogether (Survive really doesn't count as much of anything)

Konami literally assembled some of the best talent ever seen in video gaming and they just pissed it all away, it's really quite amazing.

The Dawn ends basically with a joke even though it was clear Hirano was originally wanting to do more with it and even though the character designs of "girlycard" and young Walter made some impact (and have cameos in the main series), but it goes nowhere, maybe that's why as far as I know The Dawn never got any sort of official release in the US?

The ending of the main Hellsing manga isn't as bad as that, but it was still disappointing, I hate the reveal that the main Nazi guy was a robot, what the fuck?
