Our friend the FAQ has good information on the odds of Chris ending up on the SOR. I’m not gonna get too excited about the possibility.

I feel for him too. In a lot of ways, having the mind of a child is a terrible thing. It's where you're your dumbest and make the most mistakes. Sometimes I'd make people mad by accidentally putting my foot in my mouth (mainly my decade older elder siblings) or get myself into trouble. Not out of malice, but just by being a dumb kid that fucked up before knowing how or why I fucked up. It's a lot worse if that extends beyond the first 11 or 12 years into the rest of your entire life.
This is very relevant and while Farmers are free to igore this, the courts can't: Could he have made up the Barbcest full cloth? Yes, by all means yes! The only indication - but that is just a hunch, and only really apparent to farmers, CWCwikians, EDiots and 4chan oldfags, not the courts - is that the Barbcest narrative was to a conspicuously larger extent than his usual flights of fancy tied to the world as people unlike Chris perceive it.

So: The whole trial being so obfuscated seems to me - correct me, @Pointless Sperg, if I am mistaken - mostly, almost exclusively even, to be due to the question of Chis' legal sanity refusing to be resolved in a fashion that satifies the word of the law.

The outcome we have at present looks like some sort of probation/assisted living period for a year. This would seem to be, if one is bound to follow case law by the book as the courts are, a reasonable way to deal with the above - warning him off, in no uncertain terms, and then sending him on his way, but supervised, for lack of robust evidence in the face of a well-founded suspicion that got stronger jail letter by jail letter.
An attempt to teach him the wrongness of what he (for legal purposes) claims to have done, and see if he is coherent enough that the lecture isn't buried, like guests at Elagabalus' orgies, under fresh new flowers blooming on the twisted and reticulate family tree that sprang from one hedgehog on amphetamines and colloid silver boinking a rodent-like capacitator (or vice versa).
High-Functioning Autists of Chris' grade are rare, very rare. Even less often, they end up in court for serious crimes. Most who have what Chris is having lack the High-Functioning bit, and never even understand the concept of feces - that it should not be eaten or thrown, that while wallowing in fresh stool feels orgasmic at first but will soon turn ugly, and that it is, except in the direst of circumstances, not fingerpaint.

tl;dr:
The court could easily determine that Chris had pretty concrete ideations of and motivations to commit Barbcest in early Summer last year. And it could as easily determine he was indeed a High-Functioning Autist (they now have a written professional record on that).
But it cannot, with the evidence at hand, reliably determine if Chris, at the time when he (she?) could have raped Barb, was more High-Functioning (and did it), or more Autist (and merely made it into the most notoriously depraved piece of fanfic outside Japanese pedo slasher snuff).

Even the most concrete ideations and motivations to commit the most heinous crime are unpunishable in any legal system that is recognizes freedom of thoughts and spech, as long as no attempt to actually commit that crime is actually made. Gross porn fiction distributed exclusively in private is also not a crime.
So they give him a year in which they'll observe his habits, assigning some trained professional (tard-wrangler/life-assistant) to Chris to make sure that this experiment is terminated at the first indication that what happened was not SHE CAME FOR CWC version 2.0.

Being too retarded to understand why everyone hates you sounds like a nightmare.

I think a group home arrangement would be the most miserable situation for Chris. He'd come waltzing in on his high horse acting like King Retard, instantly irritating and alienating his new housemates. He would be expected to bathe regularly and do chores. He would have to earn privileges like TV time. He'd only get a small fraction of his TardBux with most of the money going to room and board. He won't be allowed to have many toys or luxuries. He will hate it.

I've met plenty of autists who have the mind of a child and they would never even consider raping someone, let alone their own mother. Chris has the mind of someone with no impulse control or empathy which is far worse than most children let alone an adult.

If Bob had not been so caring and well-read, Chris could easily have ended up an utter basket case dependent on 24/7 care. That's the morbid irony here: it was mostly Bob doing unexpectedly good parenting that made Chris capable of figuring out that "committing incest with your mom" is a thing that can be done if one is so willed, and not just some random sounds or letters strung together.
Few autists (and I don't mean "spectrum people", aspies and so on, but what is IIRC called 2nd/3rd grade autism" in the UK) are socialized to the extent Chris is - to an extent that permits him to have sexual ideations that exceed "knead privates -> feel good". Chris is, due to Bob's above-average parenting, just enough of not a basket case to be able to process sex ed - and in his social situation (conservative family in rural VA), Internet hentai was the only accessible and comprehensive form of "sex ed". In a hypothetical world whose sexual mores are completely defined by incel shonen animu with a dash of hillbilly boomer porn, Chris' sociosexual deviancy would be everyday, normal, A-OK. Every single bit of it, right down to such details as the questionable anatomical features it implicitly or explicity assumes.

People like Chris cannot learn social skills and restraints the way normies do - observing, adopting, trying, honing, refining. Instead, they simply copypasta habits and behavioral patterns as they perceive them, without regard for the sense and context normies attach to them, producing something that is as much like social skills as mushy overcooked copypasta is to a steaming dish of spaghetti alla puttanesca prepared by a genuine 65yo veteran whoremadam from a Tyrrhenian port town.

I think this is probably worse than jail for things that you described, in addition to Chris most likely being at the worst possible tard containment unit. Chris already made quite an impression on Western and that history probably followed him if he's not at Western.

The biggest thing is Chris and his ego, lined up next to Paul The Masturbator, Jimmy Scab Pick, and Marleen the Simpleton. The staff most likely will assume Chris just never learned to use a mop and will talk to him in condescending ways in order to train him. He's going to hate that since they'll probably talk to him like he grew up in a shack behind the house way up the holler.

I can't shake the mental image of Chris's throwing a fit for not wanting to mop, causing the other slow in the minds to start banging tables and making noises.
I might be in opposition on this but I actually don't think Chris would hate it as much as people speculate.

It's 1: undoubtedly better than jail and mental hospital

2: he will have other infantilised nutters to talk to

3: I think routine even if he dislikes it at first would grow on him.

4: the only wild card is half way houses are full of criminals and troubled youth. It's easy to see some of the other people there making his life hell

I think Bob was stuck in the middle ground for parenting. He had strong fundamentals and morals, but he was also too prideful to let the system work with Chris's disabilities early to correct his behaviors.

Chris doesn't like other autists. He calls them "slow in the minds" and thinks of them as inferior.

This I'm going to hard disagree with.

1: it builds off a narrative that Chris is way way worse than he actually is. I've known a family of autists that had 2 primo examples. One was obsessed with Steven universe , smelled terrible, but was a bit of a math wiz. His brother however would slam his head onto tables if he couldn't find his n64 controller. Screaming incoherently

They both were clearly on the spectrum and notably so. Both had similarly bad parents. Both had wildly different outcomes due to the specific levels of their issues .

2: Chris simply put isn't anywhere near as bad as the worse of those two examples. There is no indication he ever was either.

Bob prevented Chris from attending special education that might have actually helped him. He consistently berated him for being tard. There is no evidence at all he did any " special parenting" to help Chris adjust to the real world. He helped Chris get one job and when Chris failed at that he just got him tard buxx so he could rot at home with barb.

Further evidence is there living situation. You can't say Bob was doing above average parenting when their house had rats darting in between garbage piled up to the ceiling.

thing is though, many kids and adolescents are sensible and are smart, chris does not just have the mind of someone between the ages of about 7 to maybe 13, but its the mind of a dull dim-witted 7 to 13 year old child , thats what makes it horrible on colossal levels.

The mind of a 2-4yo in some aspects, the mind of a postpubescent teen in others, and simply averaging that doesn't work. Chris' weird creativity refutes being dull or dim-witted in the common sense. If anything, Chris' mind is over-active. The moronic appearance is caused by the profound lack of an ability to process the most basic elements of learned social behaviour (the social skills humans usually start acquiring at kindergarten/playschool age).

This. Chris has stated multiple times that people with autism, people with disabilities and people with physical deformities makes him incredibly uncomfortable.

“It’s like staring into hell for me” is a very tasteless and fucked up statement, but it’s probably the closest thing Chris has ever said in regards to trying to understand another persons point of view.

I'm not going to disagree with this at all. This is precisely what I meant with "morbid irony". By doing his utmost to make it better, Bob made it worse.

If Chris had been an aspie, "Grade 1 autist", Fiona type or whatnot, Bob's approach would have been highly appropriate. (Fiona's dad was similar but more liberal-minded, and Fiona turned out to be a sweet and person capable of taking care of herself, with a bunch weird but generally harmless quirks but that's just the way she rolls, and she is aware of it and I think that makes her quite cool.

A Chris-type autist cannot be raised properly without professional assistance. Bob (we can safely dismiss Barb in that regard) got Chris to be "high-functioning" but it was really just "functioning", like a robot. This approach is a sure ticket to a clash with both observable reality, and, ultimately, the Law.

From what I understand, the disposition means the whole case has been put on "pause." He is not convicted yet, so they obviously can't but him on the SOR.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Well yeah. I believe it's like suspending the sentencing for a year and if he doesn't fuck up in that time then he is probably off at that point.
From my understanding though you still admit to the charges. I'm guilty but...
