There's nothing wrong with inherently being inspired by another artist. The issue is when your inspiration is wayyyy too clear without any form of proper credit. If Puppychan at least credited the majority of the artists they were heavily inspired by, that would be one thing. However, you'll be pressed to find any of that with their original artwork (which they themselves claim is 100% their ideas). It's not just about who you're inspired from but HOW you incorporate that into your work. There's a reason why it's general advice to have multiple forms of interest in terms of references, inspirations, artists, etc. when developing your frame of work. It's very easy to get tunnel vision when you only focus on a select few individuals.

If you like something that immediately inspires you, there's nothing wrong creating art in response to that. However, you need to add a bit more substance to it in order to be considered your own. Just changing up the body type and creating a similar outfit isn't really enough in this case. It's overall sad to see this because Puppychan's ideas are sound, it's just the execution doesn't really deliver on any of those things.
