Raquel Applegate from Wild Arms 4.
Little backstory, one of my favorite RPG's on the PS2 is Wild Arms 3.
It just really balances it's 4 player characters. You won't find yourself relying on only one for every battle, as like the dungeon puzzles they each have individual skills that compliment each other. Virginia had average stats (with the highest natural speed) could use her FP skill to make one item work on the entire party (since healing items are kinda rare, earning big bucks in shops). Jet (white haired boy)could use his Accelorator ability to have first action in battle. Gallows (Indian standin) has the highest HP and magic skills, able to hit all targets with his FP skill. Lastly, Clive (guy with glasses) had the highest attack and could use his lock on ability to not only ensure a hit but double the damage.
It's really balanced, making teamwork necessary for victory.
In Wild Arms 4, Raquel threw that all out the window. You see, she is supposed to be the "slow but powerful" character. Highest attack, slowest speed. Her FP ability though, would allow her to take an extra turn for 25 FP. At max, she can have 5 turns in one go.
And unlike Wild Arms 3, FP is shared by all members of the party. They can charge it up to let Raquel go wild. Early on, I got stuck on a boss when I discovered this. Made the fight a snap. I ended up using this strategy until I learned something.
You see, one more thing you have to know about Wild Arms 3 was you didn't buy weapons or armor. Instead, you improved your characters guns (with a set max number of upgrades) and equip spirits who would raise your characters stats. You could easily balance your characters weaknesses or improve their strengths. Wild Arms 4, you could not only buy weapons but armor too and health items too in another tab.
I did not realize this until I was around 75% through the game. That's how long Raquel carried my party, probably underleveled and way under-equiped.
She was suffering from a terminal illness throughout the game, died after marrying the party mage and giving birth to a daughter. Hell, she even gives up her cure at one point to save lives. She was also an artist, touring the world for things of beauty and ultimately found it in her baby daughter.
