I can die happy someone took a legit scientist and instead of retorting him, wrote a diss track as a rebuttal.

I mean does him going "The space travel in Star Wars is a bit dubious" really effect your enjoyment of the movie? I'd hate on the people writing endless thinkpieces about the guy before blaming the dude himself.> Neil DeGrasse Tyson
Probably more worthy of a thread for being a no-fun-allowed autistic try hard and spending way too much time on Twitter for someone seemingly so important.
Not into star wars personally but I'd hope a scientist had more important things to do with their time than sperg out on twitter about hollywood special effects and sci fiI mean does him going "The space travel in Star Wars is a bit dubious" really effect your enjoyment of the movie?
It's a magical energy source wielded by Utopian molemen that can do anything, basically. It's originally from a unrelated novel named Vril: the Power of the Coming Race. However, Morning of the Magicians, published in the 1960s, introduced and popularized the idea of a (ahistorical) Vril Society behind the Nazis.Wasn't that something related to Naziism?
It gets him views and appearances on talk shows. Which leads to more money. I'm all for making that guap. Oh and a tweet going "Yo, saw this headline and the world isn't flat #StayWoke" or "Yo, Star Trek's space travel seems off" takes seconds out of a day. More time for science and shit. Not into star wars personally but I'd hope a scientist had more important things to do with their time than sperg out on twitter about hollywood special effects and sci fi
Bobby Ray Simmons, Jr. (born November 15, 198Literally who?
The biggest thing that puzzles me is what is his explanation for NASA trying to cover up the earth being round? Like how does it affect anybody at all?

I thought the mysticism was kinda limited to the Thule Society and not Nazis in generalWeird history sperg ahoy...
The nazis also believed a super race using "vril energy" dwelt under the earth. And naturally, this race were all seven foot tall and blonde.
I recall reading that Adolf made veiled references to "overmen" in private speeches, and sent SS to Tibet to seek clues about them...

And set up the Ahnenerbe, an organization under the SS that was tasked with digging up evidence for the historical and racial theories in vogue. I've understood the nutcases this organization employed were the link between the Nazi government and all this Vril, "soul of the race", "eternal mission of the Aryans" bullshit the Thule society, Helena Blavatsky and others made up during the interwar period. I don't think it's ever been established if Heinrich really believed this shit or if he just saw it as a better political tool than Christianity.Seems many of the high-ranking SS and party leaders were into it...Himmler had a castle in Bavaria where he performed occult ceremonies and boned nazi groupies.
Oh sweet god this got more comical SO FAST.https://soundcloud.com/https://soundcloud.com/drtyson/flat-to-fact
