I've been reading it for the past three days, thanks. It doesn't exactly grab me by the balls, it's like most young adult stuff, but it's competent and the art never drops in quality and I'm happy when at least the premise is unique; even if the rest is fairly by-the-numbers. Occasionally she puts in some extra effort too and it really shows. The romantic stuff is very gay but it's just gay and not PRIDE! PRIDE! DEATH TO CISHETS! gay, and no one is even holding hands yet so I don't have to retch.

The animated segments are extremely cringe though.

The more I grow up, the more I understand that a million hours on MS paint can't overcome raw talent.

Everyone I know that actually can draw or paint to a professional degree hates the idea of "talent" because they do in fact spend millions of hours drawing and they know the people who complain about drawing hands or robots are just lazy, don't put in the practice, and are coasting off of their high school/college art classes. They know that some people will never push themselves to the next level.

That being said I do agree that some people will never get better. But I think it has to do with them not even knowing how to dress. By that I mean, If they don't know what looks good in the first place they can't make anything that looks good. They could also just be mentally retarded. I think if you the sense to not be happy with your art at any level you can learn and get better.

I remember a claymation short that made the whole story even darker but I can't find it anywhere. Also the guy has TDS (of fucking course)

Does anyone have the edit where the punchline was changed to "I won't pretend Aatrek didn't fuck me"? That one was reposted in the SA forums quite a lot.

Now to change the subject, does anyone follow Kill 6 Billion Demons ? I liked the art and I'm a sucker for a fish out of water story, especially since this one was a Planescape inspired. But then it became a lesbo shonen, then a tournament arc and I tapped out the moment when the greatest angel to ever exist....turned into a proud nubian queen. As /co/ eloquently put it, "It's a tournament of Goku's where the Gokuest Goku Gokuud all over the other Gokus".

God damn it. I remember finding that comic and not seeing it so much as a "10 year old gets raped by dad" edgy punchline, but more as a shine a light on the horrors of molestation with dark humor. And now the fucker is doing the Trump is a rapist and rapes his kids or whatever. I should have know from the guy that turned Charli Brown into Mad Max.

In a way this is more creepy and disturbing even than deliberate shock comics like Electric Retard (by an actual open pedo) or Morning Glory (where raping children was often the punchline), because it's drawn with technical skill.

It's sort of like how absolutely depraved fetish art that is drawn well is more disturbing than infantile MSPaint trash.

Because he was obviously getting off on it. Even Weapon Brown had freaky-cruel rape scenes that were clearly his own personal wank bank, George RR Martin-style. Which is lame because it was a really fun concept.

The limp TDS comic really recontextualizes things lol. I haven't read this since I was in high school so I reread it just now. I think topics like this should be handled with care. I didn't remember how in your face this was. I do appreciate the gen x "rudeness" when it comes to portraying her family as cartoonishly evil while still making clear examples of the shitty behaviors you see in families where sexual abuse occurs. Its something that deserves this kind of humor thrown at it. But that's about it.

The comic about her scrubbing her skin off and hiding from her dad, and pretty much everything else read more like he's trying to get a really uncomfortable joke off more than anything. Like why else throw shit like this in the middle of your comic.



And I mean that's all probably pretty obvious to everyone here. I just say that because I assume this guy defends Clarissa as something with loftier goals if he's posting comics of her making a "resist" fist.

They are to embrace their role because that is the law, and if they don't the emperor is going to cut their head off. More or less.

This one made me realize how much of these comics are just rambling monologues where the punchline is someone "winning" by force.
