Yes it's such a feminist test that lesbian pornography that men jack off to passes it.

Are we seriously repeating 2013/14 feminist discourse in fucking 2023?? What's next? A gaymergate reference?
His Girl Friday, one of the best Golden Age Hollywood films (with a fantastic woman lead) would fail. Showgirls would pass. Enough said.

I've talked to some people who described it as a social commentary about social justice going to far, and is framed so the official antagonist of the series is the ones very clearly in the right. I'm definitely intrigued, but my partner doesn't want to watch it as he's supporting the writer's strike bullshit so i'll have to watch it on my own some time.
Your boyfriend is a faggot.

Anyway, the funny thing is the media hype got even my dear ol' mum pumped up for this movie; yet despite all that all I can ascertain is that the movie tells nothing in the end, with a bunch of scenes that could be supportive to either sides politics given the correct perspective.
How much am I off the mark?

Certainly not just average A&H posters.

Assuming Ken was an airhead and had no marketable skills as the film clips explained. How was he able to convince everyone to go along with his plan when he got back to Barbieworld? Then it would make out like all the dolls are airheads.
Yeah, they don’t explain it at all. It’s literally Ken returns to BarbieLand with a head full of horses and 80s Sylvester Stallone in one scene, Barbie returning to the total Ken takeover in the next. And yes, such a decision does point out the weakness of the Barbies that they, including President Barbie, could be so easily brainwashed by doofus Ken in a mink coat.

The film’s biggest issue is that it’s trying to juggle too many themes and ideas and thus doesn’t carry any off fully or successfully.

It's definitely female posters disparaging themselves in this thread like retards. Certainly not just average A&H posters.

About three people admitted to watching the actual movie and the rest are making guesses about what feminist message hurt their egos. I've seen people try harder discussing the context of Foodie Beauty's rages than whatever weird circle jerk is happening here.
I don't need to waste 2 hours to figure out whether or not this movie has blatant messaging about "woman good, man bad". Even if there are other things to take from the movie that are decent, doesn't change the fact that it still leaves a bitter taste.

lol @ wondeting how anyone was convinced of an argument when people here saw a single clip and made huge, entirely wrong assumptions about the plot of a movie many others are watching and can see for themselves. Yet many are willing to immediately trash it because some other retards thinks its anti-men or made up their own plot that does not happen and anyone with eyes and a pirated stream could see that.

So honestly, seems about accurate to how things are here.

You say that like most of us aren't pirating it anyway, much less seen Hollywood SJW bullshit ruin adaptations for years when Normans are complaining about it now.

Anyway guys, watch Legally Blonde; it's just as pink and pretty, hysterical, and carries a (pre-SJW) feminist message better than this schlock.

I actually should watch that again, it was a pretty enjoyable watch.

A fucking Bechdel Test? OK, now you have to be trolling.

I mean this is a "test" that movies that are far more blatantly anti-women can pass, so it's a pretty shitty measure.
Wasn't it also something some whore made up in a webcomic with a basis on nothing? Anyway, I give 0 shits about this movie and have 0 interest in watching since I'm clearly not the target demographic, though I also don't want the ham planets that do watch and enjoy this to start bitching for the 50th time about "where have the good men gone".

I accept your concession.

Adaption?

Nigger it's a fucking movie about a consumer good, not a fucking novel.

Only a retard tries to critique media they've never actually watched. And again, I wasn't looking for a feminist message. You were. You needed Barbie to have a feminist message so it fulfilled your ideas about Barbie, whether true or not

Probably how you treat women in general.

Eta: Barbie isn't called a fascist at the end. She's called one by the SJW daughter in high school in a typical leftist rant. Her 30+ year old mother is the one who cares about Barbie and saw her as multi-faceted and both mother and daughter side with Barbie with the mother making the grand feminist speech at the end.

This is like me just making up a new plot for Star Wars and saying it's problematic with the new plot I made up. Lunacy.

You can't even spell adaptation you fat fuck, eat a cookie, you're delirious!

I wish there was an actual fun Barbie movie tbh. Doesn't actually have to be about anything. Just entertain me for an hour and a half with dumb shit.

This isn’t limited to just comedies. Look at House of the Dragon. Despite the girl-boss of the show as the head, the most interesting character is Daemon.
Tbf, with HoTD that's more due to how Fire and Blood is written (though a ton of it is changed which fucks up with the nuance with the strong bastards). Also no, Aemond is the most entertaining. Though the real test to see if they girl-boss shit is how they'll deal with 1: Blood and Cheese and 2: Rhaneyra later on in the story. She's quite a bitch.

Aw man, I remember that and its sequel. They were actually pretty funny movies.

Have you tried any of the direct-to-video movies?

totallyunknown you're a pathetic contrarian/troll and it's not worth arguing with you. lol simp for the movie on twitter maybe you'll get better updoots by your fellow neurodivergents.

Yeah, legally blonde is what this movie should have been. A silly, girly and entertaining movie for women, not something made by a privileged hollywood millionaire old haghack who should know that this subversion and feminist shit has been overplayed and cliche since the mid 2010s. It sucks that western films pandering to women have to have this cynical and petty wine aunt feel. cis bio bonus holes should not have fun cause that's enabling the patriarchy or something.
I'm still irritated that the nice aesthetic of this movie is being dragged down by current year scripts.

Oh I did. I was surprisingly charmed and they're rather pretty. I wish that there was an adult comedy type without it being all sex jokes. Tall fuckin' order, I know, but I could see the appeal, especially when someone here suggested Barbie cycling through different jobs. It'd be more funny if there was no message.

The closest we got to that was a mid-2010s Barbie show written by a few Robot Chicken writers.

Like you? :smug:

Woman's intuition; hell, you don't even need to be a woman (fuck off, troons) to distinguish good examples and shitty examples of female empowerment, especially in [current year] + 8.
