The Cubs are so loaded right now Kyle Schwarber is putting up numbers comparable to Kris Bryant did as a CATCHER in AA, Javier Baez is killing it like the only reason he's in AAA still is that there's nowhere for him to play, Arismendy Alcantra looks like a solid trade piece or he could be a super sub, Dan Vogelbach makes me wish the NL had a DH, Carl Edwards just got called up to AAA and will probably be smoking people's dumpsters out of the bullpen in no time, and they've got guys like Billy McKinney, Albert Almora, Jeimer Candelero, etc that they can trade for some impact pitching.

Congrats to Pat Venditte for his major-league debut. Such a damn hard amount of work to be able to make it to the majors pitching from both sides.

Chris Fuckin' Heston. Striking out the side in the ninth to cap a no-hitter. Impressive as shit. 0 hits, 0 walks, 3 hit by pitch.

Isn't 3 hbp an automatic ejection?

Nah. HBP are only ejections if the umpire feels that they were flagrantly intentional. Even then the umps will usually give a warning to both teams before tossing anyone.

It's pretty clear when a HBP is intentional and when it's not. If a HBP happens after a warning, the manager and pitcher are automatically ejected.

Hey Sandberg, the bullpen has caller ID, they ain't stupid!

I wouldn't be surprised if the all-Royals lineup/All Star Vote debacle is being perpetuated by thousands of internet trolls who aren't even baseball fans, but have picked up on the fact that a lot of baseball purists are getting very very butthurt over it and are writing their own voting programs to make sure it happens for the chaos factor alone?

Crazy, I work there too sometimes. Were you at the opera last night?
Nah. I had no idea it was even going on. They like scheduling me 40 hours a week when the Giants are in town and then give me the entire week off when they're not. How was it though?

It was a simulcast from the SF opera house. They were selling wine on the field and people brought in their own cheese and meats. So it was a weird one, but people seemed to really enjoy it. I only do one or two events there a month.

It's shaping up to be a fun trade deadline. The Tulowitzki trade doesn't look good for either side to me, but this Latos mega-deal the Dodgers, Braves, and Marlins are pulling off is interesting. I really like the Mets' moves as well, picking up Uribe, Johnson, and Gomez.

So, likely postseason teams right now include the Royals, Pirates, Jays, Mets and Astros........ what is this? 1986?!

Don't count out the Yankees either. The upcoming series against a hot league rival Blue Jays will pretty much tell us whether or not to take the Yankees seriously going forward, but all in all they're doing pretty well in a tough AL East league. A-Rod and Teixeira are having MVP type seasons, and lately all the games they win are blowouts. Starting pitching needs a lot of help but at the same time the bullpen has been lights out all season.

If you're a Yankees fan though you're naturally pessimistic though, so I'm not going to get my hopes up unless they ended up clinching a playoff berth.

Oh, forgot, the Cubs could snag a WC berth unless they totally meltdown.... so yeah, welcome to Bizzaro land.

Being a Pirates fan is rough right now, our record would be good enough for the lead in all but two divisions, (and in the AL Central, we'd only be 1 back of KC) but no, we HAD to end up with the Cardinals.......
