HIGHEST PAID PITCHER IN BASEBALL COULDN'T MAKE IT PAST SIX OUTS WITHOUT SPIDER TACK

Aaron Boone is the first Yankees manager since 1922 to go 4 full seasons without winning the World Series and not be fired. It was really nice that he hit a home run 18 years ago but that doesn't qualify him for the job.

FWIW he actually still pitched really well after he wasn't allowed to use spider tack anymore (the crackdown was all the way back in June), that was when he had his CSGO against Houston and he was considered a Cy Young contender up until September when he had a hamstring injury. Before that injury his ERA was hovering around 2.50. Since the injury it's been like 5.00+. IMO he's been playing hurt and that's the biggest explanation for the decreased performance in the past month.

But then again, maybe I'm just coping because he's going to be here until 2028. Also he's technically not the highest paid pitcher in baseball, Bauer is.

Who cares, he picks his nose and eats it.

Dodgers win.
Absolute bomb by Chris Taylor to walk it off. Cody Bellinger finally showed up big with a single, a pair of walks and a pair of steals after being absolutely terrible all year. The NL Wild Card Game was definitely much more exciting than the AL one was.

First time ever that the Dodgers and Giants will meet in the postseason. It should be a really good series.

Here we go. First pitch of the Division series coming up next! May the nerves commence.

EDIT: Well, easy for nerves to dissipate when your offense doesn't show up.

Well, I've never paid any attention to the Rays before but I think after last night's game I might be following them through the playoffs. So dominant in almost every aspect of the game with a bunch of guys I've never heard of. Now I hear their starter tonight is 22 years old with only 3 major league games under his belt. I can't imagine the pressure and excitement he must feel. He's pitched 236 innings over 4 seasons in the minors with a 3.02 ERA and is placed 19th on MLB prospect pipeline so he looks pretty good so far.

All I know is that if the Astros get into the World Series again, it will be the biggest poke in the eye that I’ve ever seen.

I've been watching baseball my whole life and I've never seen a ball bounce off a wall then off the ground then off the outfielder then over the wall. I can't believe they had a rule on the books for that.

Well the Giants couldn't keep the dream alive, but they had a hell of a season. Too bad that it ended on a really bad strike call. Wilmer Flores clearly didn't go around on that slider. I really thought that when Justin Turner botched that Kris Bryant grounder that San Francisco might just pull off a magical win facing Scherzer on the mound trying for his first professional save.

It was nice to see Cody Bellinger come through for that game inning single in the 9th. After an abysmal regular season (seriously, for those who don't follow that closely you should consider giving it a look) he really has had a nice postseason.

So now it's just down to Boston and Houston, and the Dodgers and Braves (again.)

Lmao did anyone else catch TBS's close-up of the "Let's go Brandon" sign around the 4th inning or so? It was definitely referring to the Giants shortstop and not a shout out to the perpetually online crowd....

Anyone happen to be watching the Red Sox and Astros game? Boston is bitch slapping Houston hard early. J.D. Martinez hit a grand slam in the 1st inning, and Devers did the same in the 2nd. 8-0 already and Houston is just up to start the bottom of the 3rd.
