Joe Maddon's managerial decisions tonight (and putting Chapman in with a five-run lead in game six) have been absolutely firable. If I were a Cubs fan, I'd be utterly livid. Like Grady Little keeping Pedro in the game.

You know, I never thought I'd live to see the day. And yes, I realize I am only 24, but like, the internal math was always "So, I got anywhere from 40-70 years left in me". No way that's long enough.

The last legacy of the Ottoman Empire has been buried in the dust. Way to go Cubs!

This commercial is officially anachronistic now. Perhaps the greatest commercial for a sports game ever.

Edit: lol rip this guy

Man, I don't watch sports, I don't understand sports, I woke up late, and only saw the last 45 minutes off and on. But good god, that was crazy. Really, really cool to be alive to see a 108 year losing streak end!

I was rooting for the Indians, but goddamn good work Cubs! I'll save my complaints about said win for later.

GO, CUBS, GO!

Wow. Just... WOW. That was a fucking buttclencher, right up until the very end.

I have to hand it to the Indians, though: they put up a good fight and were no slouches.

it was such a good series there was no way to root against either team. any ending would have been somewhat feelgood and deserved. however i can only see the indians getting better and i sure hope we get a repeat of this series next season

I'm seeing a lot of Indians fans saying they played like shit; they honestly didn't, dudes. The Indians did a pretty good job. Yes, mistakes happen and when the pressure is on? They're more prone to happen. You still fuckin made it game 7 of the world series.

This was against a team that outspent them. No, seriously. The Chicago Cubs out spent everyone in baseball, this year. Even the much despised Yankees. And they STILL dragged it out into Game 7 for a conclusion. That's great. Yeah, Game 5 was a downer, but still.

Keep this team together and they could do it next year.

Yeah, I don't get the hate either. I mean, I'm a Cubs fan, but even I think the Indians played really good. There were times where, after the Cubs got it to 3-3, I felt like the Indians could have won at any given moment. If nothing else, they proved that they've got what it takes to try again next year. I, for one, welcome the prospect of a rematch in the future.

I disagree. When you have a 3-1 series lead and your foot on the throat of every Cubs fan, you need to finish them off. The Indians had chance after chance after chance in games five and seven to win it all and they completely blew it. The starting pitching and relief core (I'm looking at you, Andrew Miller) turned into a pumpkin at the worst possible time. Also they couldn't score on a prostitute with runners in scoring position.

I have to give you game 5, that was just a choke. There's no defending that, at all.

But, still, they were up against the best team money to could buy. And they still dragged it out to game 7. I'm more prone to being positive as a result.
