Jomboy’s tears are going to be delicious.

Seems to be taking it well.

Dodgers still have eight years of Ohtani, and half of their starters were injured. It's blatantly obvious that LA are the new "Villains" of the whole league. The Yankees have officially been demoted to geriatric grandpa. Dodgers are probably going to have a dynasty.

They need to crucify Aaron Boone and Gerrit Cole.

Atrocious management and inexcusable laziness.

Fuck the Yankees forever.

Didn't think the last game of the WS would come down to mickey mouse errors like this, but grats to LA. NGL, I honestly bursted out laughing when Cole didn't cover first.

I wonder what happens to NYY now; does Soto resign for >500m? How much longer is Boone going to manage? Cashman's position seems scarily untouchable. I know they won a pennant this year, but their status as perpetual AL central playoff merchants has been vastly outdone by Houston/Boston's accomplishments in the 21st century.

It's fucking hilarious that they play Sinatra after a literal WS loss, I wonder if that's a closeted Mets fan on the staff just doing some trolling. Jimmy's prolly goanna have a 5 minute spergout over it during his post-game.

No one’s getting fired for five games lol. They’re still pennant winners. But Boone has this tired uncaring look the whole time. Big contrast to Roberts who actually looks involved in the game even when they’re down five.

Are they really just going to keep him until 2030 as long as they make the DS/CS regardless of outcome? Bringing in Nestor in Game 1 was genuinely one of the worst managerial decisions I've ever seen.

Big BIG shoutout to all of those fucking loser Yankee/Laker fans who were born and raised in MASSACHUSETTS who used to brag about all of the titles they weren't alive to see, or were too young to even care about watching baseball in the mid to late 90's. At least all is not lost though for those who are actually from New York. Now they can go back to their 450 sq. ft. apartments in their car horn infested neighborhoods in the Bronx and Manhattan and pay $4,000 a month for the privilege to watch them fold again next year. :sighduck:

If anything, the real winner is Shohei Ohtani. There reportedly were more Japanese viewers than American viewers that were watching the World Series just to see him. When he comes back to Japan for vacation, he’ll get treated like a national hero.

After Flaherty getting shelled early (which I had a bad feeling would happen because his performance fluctuates so much), I was prepared for the series to go back to LA.

Granted, if you had told me before the series started that I could accept a reality where the series would come back to LA with the Dodgers having 2 chances to win it all then I would have taken it within a heartbeat.

That 5th inning was insane. 5 unearned runs off of such a stunning lack of execution by the Yankees felt like an out of body experience. Cole especially not covering first on such a routine play made me wonder if this was really happening or if I was about to wake up from a strange dream.

Then the back and forth slugfest to go up 7-6, with Walker "Motherfucking" Buehler being given the ball to close things out was pure poetry. I've always believed that in sports, there are some players who rise to the equation and play better the higher the stakes get. Buehler is one of those lionhearted guys who wants to go out there even if his arm is about to fall off.

While I wish that Ohtani had a better World Series, I think that his presence was palpable. The Yankees based a large part of their strategy around trying to keep him contained, shoulder injury and all. After a season of Ohtani carrying the team, it was great to see everyone else, led by Freeman, take their turn to be the heroes.

While I've given Roberts a lot of shit, he was masterful in how he managed that Frankenstein job of a pitching unit that the Dodgers went into the playoffs with. You can't really fault any of the analysts for going with teams like the Padres and Yanks to win it all.

The Dodgers had to keep things within striking distance and to win enough of the "situational" battles to come out on top. Special shoutout to Mark Prior for helping that unit win the key situations and bringing that trophy home.

Can't wait for the offseason to see how the load up to try and "run it back" as the kids say.

Without ohtani no cortes in game 1 and no Freddy grandslam he was a great ghost player.

Yankees did what they always do: shoot themselves in the foot while aiming for their head.

Anyone who still holds onto hope about the Yanks winning another World Series needs to just come to terms that they are no longer the dominant power of MLB. They haven't been since George Steinbrenner kicked the bucket. The 2009 team had no business winning that World Series because they relied on the old guard to get it done. As good as Aaron Judge, Anthony Volpe, or any other player may be, they just aren't cut from the cloth of champions.

Dodgers will repeat next year is my bold prediction. If you can call it bold.
