Yasiel Puig found guilty of obstruction of justice and lying to feds who were investigating a gambling operation.
It's amazing how Jose Fernandez and puig were suppose to be the next big thing in MLB in 2013 and now Fernandez is dead after killing 2 people in a coke fueled accident and puig is staring down the barrel of 15+ years in Federal prison.

Adding wander franco and a few other retards into the mix and modern Latin American baseball players are just a bunch of lolcows

Cuban ballplayers are really something. In that crop of players there was also Cespedes who broke his ankle falling in a hole in an incident involving a wild boar on his ranch - he only played 8 more career MLB games after that. Then there was Rusney Castillo who didn't do anything as funny but the Red Sox let him rot in Pawtucket just to dodge the luxury tax- huge bust of a player.

Chapman is Chapman. No one's gonna do anything more than yell at him because if his hand slips or he ever gets the urge to hit you, a career-ending surgery would be your best case scenario.

Arozarena had a similarly intense Cuba escape story as Puig but he seems to be normal besides being a bit of a showman or a punk (depending on your mileage, I lean towards the former).

Baseball is full of funny injuries like that.
  • John Smoltz burned his chest ironing a shirt he was already wearing.
  • Sammy Sosa threw his back out sneezing.
  • Adam Eaton stabbed himself in the gut opening a DVD.
  • Madison Bumgarner was never the same after crashing a dirtbike.
  • Marty Cordova was burned after falling asleep in a tanning bed.
  • Nolan Ryan was bit by a coyote.

If the Tigers are bringing back Verlander, I expect nothing less than a World Series victory.

Also it appears the MLB will be the ones picking up the slack from FanDuel Sports network dropping the Tigers. They will also apparently be broadcasting Redwings games too someway or how. Idk how this is gonna work yet and apparently neither do they. Who knows wtf is gonna happen to the Pistons...

Looks like MLB Network is slowly consuming all the regional baseball broadcast networks. I'm not sure if it's necessarily good or healthy in the big picture, but the cable TV model is dead and MLB.net seems to have the streaming monetization mostly figured out. Their MLB Local Media subsidiary has already been producing the actual game footage for a lot of non-MLB.net broadcasts, and they seem competent. It's probably just a matter of letting remaining cable contracts to expire before full consolidation.

I can't speak to the streaming options on FanDual, but as a Mariners fan, I'm actually glad Root Sports is finally dead and MLB Network is taking over. I actually paid for the Root streaming package last year (the first and only year it was offered), and the quality was so bad that half the time I still had to pirate the damn games to watch them.

Most of the big sports team networks are $25 a month or $250 for the entire year. NESN is $240 for an entire year for example but the Red Sox don't play every game there and you're paying for the off season of zero baseball. MLB.tv is missing lots of games still. Opening night games and the Home Run Derby are exclusive to Netflix. It's a shit system for consumers which is why sports streaming piracy is so massive for all sports.

Places like YES and NESN are never going to give up their contracts. The Dodgers literally don't even factor in their television deal into their payroll or luxury tax. It's just a separate revenue source that MLB can't touch until 2039 with the current media deal. Every team wants a similar deal because the owners can hide the numbers from the players.

This is the same for nearly every sport. And most movies, television shows, and video games. The pirated product is superior quality for various reasons.

Nick Castellanos was released by the Phillies while still owed $20 Mil/1Yr and now any team can grab him for the minimum.
In the wake of this it's come out that there was an incident where Nick brought a beer into the dugout during a game.

All signs are currently pointing to Hanley Ramirez as the fedposting retard who made the entire Red Sox clubhouse go into a panicked frenzy after he "joked" about being more American than all of them combined despite being a beaner. He was immediately released shortly after the series where the incident supposedly took place despite still slashing good numbers.
As a Sox fan, he was really good for us spanning those years in the mid-to-late 2010s even if his tenure almost exactly spanned the gap in between the 2013 and 2018 championships. I was so confused to why he was released so suddenly, especially on a championship contending team, and it was a shock to everyone else in Red Sox Nation, but this leak perfectly explains his sudden departure.
Average retarded MLB beaner nigger.

Add Hanley to that now if it is confirmed because it effectively ended his career despite him still performing on a respectable level. Holy shit if it is true.
