The Guardians just had two different players hit a game-tying home run and a walkoff hit in both games of a doubleheader. I'm waiting on the stat nerds to let us know if that's ever happened before.

He’s been identified as 38 year old Kelly Marcucci from Long Island. Some retard ran onto the field, at the ceremonialFUCK THE GODDAMNNew York Yankees vs New York Mets game. He ran onto the field at exactly 9:11 PM, waiving a Palestine flag, before immediately being tackled where he was booed as “USA” chants erupted.

And so have the Cubs. Finally! The Chicago White Sox have clinched a playoff spot
PCA has joined the 40/40 Club. Only the 7th player in MLB history to do it.
I think it's interesting that both (assumed) MVPs this season are going to be players who got to their MLB teams via trades that have ended up being heartbreaking for their original organizations.Everytime I think back to that trade I weep. Fuck we are bad. Oh well, not like if he was on the Mets we'd be doing anything but wasting him
What would a Sox-Cubs WS do to that city? And so have the Cubs. Finally!
No damage that would be noticeable to outsiders. What would a Sox-Cubs WS do to that city?
Cubs-Sox World Series + Bulls ring + Blackhawks championship + Bears Super Bowl at onceNo damage that would be noticeable to outsiders.
That's not entirely unusual in the MLB. Olde Tyme Phillies fans remember Ryne Sandberg (Phillies minor league prospect who became an all star level player) who got traded (along with Larry Bowa) to the Cubs in 81 or 82 for fucking Ivan Dejesus, who to be fair, played decent enough for the Phillies, but we would have rather had Ryne Sandberg, lol.I think it's interesting that both (assumed) MVPs this season are going to be players who got to their MLB teams via trades that have ended up being heartbreaking for their original organizations.
Yordan Alvarez of Houston, traded a decade ago by the Dodgers while in the Dominican Summer League for relief pitcher Josh Fields (who, to be fair, at least had a few very respectable seasons for LA.)
And of course Pete Crow-Armstrong of the Cubs, traded five years ago by the Mets for a third of a season of Javier Baez (who did play well for them) and about 120 respectable innings of Trevor Williams.
