Batman V Superman

I found out not long after seeing the movie that Bryan Cranston was considered for the role of Lex Luthor for this movie.

MISSED OPPORTUNITY OF THE CENTURY.

Holy shit, how did they miss that? I wouldn't be surprised if Cranston turned it down, though, seeing as the whole movie looked like a shitshow from the beginning.

Still, he'd be an epic Lex.

He might even outdo the so-far-unbeaten portrayal by Gene Hackman.

He's got the whole angry bald genius white guy villain thing down pat.

I remember when I was a kid and watched the DCAU Justice League premier. It was 60-odd minutes long, had five characters out of seven to introduce, and it was easy to follow even if you hadn't seen much or any of the Batman and Superman cartoons that came before. They also had the sense to only focus on one villian, a knockoff of the White Martians.

Why can't modern movie studios learn from that shit?

He did willingly make a movie with that twip-twerp from Kick-Ass who married a 50 year old woman. But then again, maybe that's what put him off.

They should've gotten John Cena to play Lex Luthor or The Joker. Even if he mailed it in, at least he's capable of actually looking intimidating next to Ben Affleck and the Whatshisname playing Superman.

No fuckin way. He just doesn't convey the whole genius villain thing at all. He is brawn, not brains.

Both Lex and the Joker are notable for being physically unprepossessing.

Is this really a downgrade from Michael Cera's understudy?

Mostly, I just think it'd be funny.

I actually wasn't a fan of the idea of Cranston playing Lex. Mostly because it would have just been "Bryan Cranston" instead of Lex Luthor.

Someone suggested Idris Elba, and that would have been good. But I still think James Spader is the perfect actor to play Lex.

Did anyone else really like Jeremy Irons playing Alfred? But on the whole Lex Luthor actor thing, I think Mark Strong would of made a decent Lex Luthor.

Really, they would've been better off with anyone but Jesse Eisenberg. George Michael Bluth Cera would've been a better choice.

Jeremy Irons, like Affleck, was a perfect casting choice squandered on a movie made by someone who thinks we're all retards for wanting superheroes to save people.

To be fair, Michael Cera hasn't done dick since Juno, unless you count all those tween art comedies he tried that flopped.

Jesse Einsteinburg at least was nominated for an academy award, so he has that over George Michael.

Eisenberg could have done this well. He was fantastic as Mark Zuckerberg who is basically irl Lex Luthor.

So what crazy internet person made this up? Seeing how this is clearly too well-written and in-character to have come out of WB, Snyder or DC's movie department.

That and there isn't a single line that says, "INSERT: Obnoxious out-of-place techno music".

The funny thing is that it was apparently a rough draft he wrote in 20 minutes before he went to a birthday party, and DC fanboys still gave him salt for it:
