Battlefield 1, 1 with it being a World War 1 game. Would a colon between Battlefield and 1 or a subtitle help you? Hell, the first Battlefield was titled 1943 with the mindset of it taking place in 1943 WW2.

Not even a WW2 game. WW2 games all have the same problem. The vast majority of soldiers had a semi-automatic rifle. Is like a modern day war game.

It was good but it was good as a WW1-themed Battlefield game, not a WW1 game.
 
The Season 6 map has been leaked, and is called Redacted. Although it's unknown if that's the actual name of the map, or a placeholder one until the reveal:

Yeah that was it. It was a horribly underrated gamemode. I felt like that's what BF1 should have been, but that's perhaps just my own taste. Sandbox weapon customization is fun, but I like restricted kits/loadouts.

Am I looking at Battlefield or CoD? Now, this brings up another point. Maybe it's me, but Battlefield has more restraint with their cosmetics than CoD does. AND, who would pay for skins like that? So, I'm conflicted.

You can't see anything there because he deleted his channel. As far as I am aware, he just closed it overnight and has been last found talking to shady discord users. I fear he's yet another casualty to the trooning cult.
Reason I am posting this here is because he had a few good videos on Battlefield 2042 that I wanted to look back on and compare the current state of the game. Naturally, I can't do that as I never backed them up.
Here are some archives to give you a taste of what his channel looked like.

The three videos I am looking for in particular are: Dice's burnout video at 50+ minutes, his Season 1 review of Battlefield 2042 and one of his latest videos before he shut his channel down, where he was reviewing a particular patch/update, forgot which one. If anyone has any of those videos saved, I would appreciate them, I cannot find them anywhere myself. He was a relatively small channel, but nevertheless provided some good content, it's a shame for it all to go to waste, especially as he was the guy who leaked a whole load of COD content and made a good video about it(I have the copy of that video archived somewhere)

Yeah, that's a real pain in the ass. The ammo one is situational: if someone asks you for ammo you give it and otherwise make drops, but the medic thing is a huge problem. You'll have medics that walk by bodies only a couple of metres away and continue fighting. If you're a medic I expect you to risk life and limb to revive everyone around you, not ignore casualties and play soldier.

That's what I was saying before: CoD has gone beyond ridiculous when previously it seemed like 2042 was the one going to go full Fortnite.
 
Good of place as any to share this. The Battlefield 2 mod IDF: Fight for Independence coincidentally just had an update a few weeks ago. Seems like a fun mod if you like BF2.
Also, lol @ this guy for typing in chat while playing with bots

BF2 is pretty easy to get for free since it's abandonware. The modding scene is still surprisingly healthy for an almost 20 year old game.

BF2 will always be my favorite in no small part due to all the mods. Also thanks for the link to download it.

Always had a lot of fun with BF2 mods. There was so much different shit people added into the game it was hard to get bored.

BF2 also had Project Reality, which in my opinion is the gold standard for a mod in general. Literally every part of it feels so refined like it's a completely standalone game. It's probably the mod I played the most and it's what got me into milsim type games.
 
New 2042 patch has got Steam stuck in a validation loop. Fix is to go into the burger menu, Help and App Recovery. Classic DICE releasing a seriously bugged patch.

Edit: The Battlefield Comms twitter account acknowledge the issue 50 minutes after the patch deployed and saying they're looking into it. This is after people had already figured out the above fix and posted it on the Steam forums. Hopeless!

What is it with this game and its absolute refusal to give the characters skins that aren't just palette swaps and/or a shitty mask?

The writing is already oozing Fortnite so have fun with it! Go balls to the walls!
