Everyone on Steam says Battlefield V is unplayable due to hackers. Is that true?

I was so put off by the women soldiers (still hate it, I hated it even in BF1 with muh Women's Battalion of Death tokens) and the wacky Battlefield Heroes level cosmetics that I never touched it, but I've recently been seeing YouTube shorts talking about some of the weapons (like Japanese plunger mines and German fliegerfaust) that make me want it. I have EAPlay (not really worth it, I don't play it enough) so I've got the game for free, only reason I didn't try it is it takes up so much hard drive space.

I'm fine with the female soldiers in WW2. I wish there was more to customize with them.

All seriousness, the cosmetics with BFV are quite tame compared to what would come with FPS thanks to monetization.

Remember when Battlefield had secret weapons that required cooperation and puzzles to obtain for future use? BF4 had the Phantom Bow, Hardline had the Mammoth and Syndicate guns and 1 had a Peacekeeper revolver. Did players actually like those?

Yeah, and they ranged from okay to frustrating. The one that stands out the most to me was a mission in Battlefield 3 where you and another person had to attack targets in a helicopter. The problem with that was, you couldn't choose your role beforehand, and 90% of the time, if I got spawned as the gunner instead of the pilot, it'd inevitably end in 10 seconds with a rollover into the ground. On the rare instance I actually got spawned as the pilot, I'd get a gunner who wouldn't shoot the objectives fast enough.

I ended up having to party up with a friend for it, which we managed to do in one go. Another mission that I had to do with him was the one for the AS-VAL, where you had to move stealthily through a city and manually count off and pick targets to prevent the enemy from raising an alarm. Mildly frustrating, but it was a genuinely satisfying feeling to be "synced up" with your co-op buddy and being rewarded for it.

Battlefield 1942 and both Bad Company titles will be delisted from Game Pass by the end of this month.

I think I just gave myself a full time job with boosting/farming kills for achievements with another guy. This will take some doing.

The 20 Destruction 2.0 kills will makes you want to kill yourself. Just use the C4 and blow up houses with objectives and snipers.
Oh, I forgot about that achievement. Now, I'm just farming Vietnam kills.

Contemporary AI image to describe my final Vietnam moments. Oh, and the 100 matches for 1943. I have a journey.

Was 1942 still avalaible? Isn't that long dead and servers gone?

BC2's servers are closing soon. There's something called Project Rome where you can play on their servers. I had a look and like with Venice for BF3. Sweet fuck all people playing.

1943 I meant. I'm not sure of 1942; I think it's abondonware.

I hope there's a way to play those games after EA has shut down the servers. BC2 Vietnam was fun.

This will be the way to play. Not many using it now while the games still up.

BC2 Vietnam was really good. DICE when they have tried can make really small map experiences with a lot of replayability. Close Quarters on BF3 was like that. Those four maps were better than any of the CODs released around that time. I could play the maps endlessly.

I also considered the 2010 Medal of Honor Multi-player like a BC2 Afghanistan add on. It was really good.

I booted up BFV (free with EAPlay), it immediately started the campaign (had to manually exit out of it), then navigate several menus just to get to the fucking multiplayer, and then there were hardly any servers, loaded in, found that (like BF1 TBH) I couldn't just equip a standard issue rifle, and everyone was bickering about who was a hacker, and I ragequit permanently.

0/10 fuck you DICE

I wanted to try BFV too but I've heard that it's full of cheaters on PC.

I recall trying the game back in January and February of this year and I didn't really stick with it honestly. I think people really only started pretending it was a good game because BF2042 flopped.
It's autistic but I absolutely hate the way you die in that game holding your hands out. Battlefield 1 and 2042 had good killed cameras.

From my experience, you just fall over in first person. I like how in 4 and 1, the camera zooms to your killer.
