I plan on downloading the BF6 open beta and typing nigger in chat to see if I'll get autobanned, then we'll know for sure if they're changing their tune or if this is a another bait and switch.

Needing to set windows to secure boot isn't reassuring either.

Edit: I also bet it's going to be two fictional countries and their fictional allies fighting each other just like how the Modern Warfare reboot series has the conflicts take place in non-existant middle eastern nations as to not offend sandniggers. No more China/Russia VS the US/NATO. No more China Rising DLC incidents. These companies are desperate, but they're still faggots. The tombstone pack just screams bait and switch to me.

On a brighter note, the hype for BF6 will keep the other BF game playercounts the highest they've been in years for a couple of months.

It's sad they do this kind of thing nowadays. We got it good when US was allowed to fight Russia and China, and terrorists in Command & Conquer had car bombs and suicide bombers. Even GR Wildlands was at least allowed to be set in Bolivia.

It'd be far better to just say, "Fuck your feelings" and just have whatever nations going at it with all their current armaments because it's just a video game. There's little point to having a blurb that says it's a fictional piece of work if you're too afraid to put anything real in said piece of work. If you had something akin to the original Modern Warfare with the main theatres being Russia/Ukraine-NATO, Israel/Iran and US/China, it'd probably sell like hotcakes because gamers enjoy playing something with an element of real-world crossover.

Ironically BFV has a campaign portion where you play as a German Tank Commander in a Tiger. The customization for the Germans in multiplayer are even more accurate than what the Brits have.
And 1942 is still active so you can try that. Or Wolfenstein Enemy Territory.

from the beta tease if you expect it to be wildly different from failfield2042 then you only have yourself to blame.
if you can even open the chat to type that is, modern online games usually add chatting after a few patches or so nowadays and if it's so heavily sanitized then why even bother with the crap?

If you're referring to how BFV handled its chat filter, then his way of doing it is an overreach IMHO. Filtering out basic words or foreign terms that COULD hint on bad words is not the same as outright typing a racial/derogatory slur. Especially when you are aware that there ARE terms of use for that.

*Now BF6 looks exactly like MW2019 and is aiming to do the same to Activision and Treyarch
lmfao, there truly is nothing new under the sun anymore. Remember when you could take one look at a game, and say "Yup, that's *Franchise I like* or *Game that I know*? Now, it's all the same shit. Give me a screenshot of every major online FPS released over the last 10 years and I guarantee you that people will be having trouble telling apart which one is which, just like every FPS from the late 2000s blends in together since they made everything that generation fucking brown.
 
For those that care, the Beta Preload is available now. Go to the Steam page and press Join Playtest and it should let you download it. You won't be able to play until the 7th if you asked to join the bf labs before the 31st of July or if you got the twitch drop from the viewing event, if you didn't you'll have to wait until the 9th.

Stonemountain's explanation of movement in the game doesn't look too insane. Unlike other games with a slide, you can't just slide out of a sprint here; trying to do so will make you crouch sprint instead. No omnidirectional movement. Jump shooting is a thing, but it's inaccurate as far as he can tell. Drop shooting has a massive delay, so if you're going prone and trying to shoot while doing it, your character won't start shooting until their gun is level on the ground when the animation for going prone has ended. Crouch Sprinting also apparently negates Recon's motion sensor since it doesn't detect crouched or prone players.

You're reading my mind. I'm thinking if BF6's gunplay would be identical to MWII's gunplay, but with a slightly higher TTK, it'd be perfect for Battlefield. Make every shot count.

So, it looks like there's less chances to exploit movement.

It'll be one of the last decisions I make during the second weekend if I enjoy the game that much or the first weekend.

Why? because it'll be one of the indicators that'll tell people if they've learned anything from BFV or 2042. If they're willing to waste resource on people saying mean words, they're willing to spend more on other dumb shit instead of making a great game.

I might even make another account because I've seen EA shitcan accounts for less.

The way I see it, it'd be like me protesting against not being able to post pictures of beautiful women by uploading a naked picture of Marilyn Monroe. How you're going about your cause would only invalidate it IMHO.

I come from the Xbox 360 era of freedom where you could say all sorts of nasty things to people and no one cared.

Either it's just a game and I can say whatever i want or it's not my property at all and EA can punish me like their my boss. I'm not going to be lectured on how to be a good person when I've just given you my fucking money to relax. mute me like how people did in the good old days

I think your forgetting that we live in the current year and that nothing has changed between this year and the last. Gaming Companies with voice chat are still going to monitor the hell out of you and ban you for saying nigger.

Speaking of chat, apparently the game will have chat and VOIP, which is interesting.

Two things are making me hesitant of BF6: no server browser and its implementation of SBMM. I hope it would not be noticeable like in Call of Duty now but time will tell.

What is VOIP? So you could choose to have voice chat relative to location or universal? That's cool, I wish more games did that. Then again, who even uses voice chat anymore?

Apparently, the Portal is essentially the server browser. It'll have full XP lobbies, unlike in 2042. The problem with that is the portal gives players so much freedom that almost no one is going to host standard games.

VOIP is just voice chat. But the game apparently is going to have proximity chat to allow you to talk with other squads, which will be interesting.

You're right but that's also a defeatist attitude, It was unthinkable that EA's games would were come to steam even if they have to have 2 launchers running in the background while playing. You can stay a bigger fatter retard longer than these companies can. It's not about being petty, it's about winning.

I'm expecting the Portal to have boosting lobbies for XP and achievements. It's good that you could theoretically progress from the Portal as playing standard modes. From my understanding, it's to act as a compromise for matchmaking and curated player modes. I'll have to see how it works and how the community treats it.
