I've been watching some peps playing and I've come to realize. There is like no weapon recoil once you get attachments.
I saw one guy using the second lmg going bananas, I was questioning how this guy was doing so well since i think the gun is trash. But after watching some videos of people shooting, there was no recoil, at all. Seems crazy to me, might be why im bad and having trouble landing consistent shots
The starting SMG is seriously a laserbeam. I'm getting kills with that thing way outside it's effective range just because of how easy it is to handle.
I'm not entirely convinced you don't play with AI teammates because I have seen so many oblivious or just terrible players
Nothing will make it more obvious that nobody looks at their fucking minimap than putting a motion sensor down as recon. It could detect an entire squad flanking our team and not a single person will turn around.

Who was complaining about Engineer? Using the RPGs in BF6 make me miss the RPGs in Hardline. Those rocket launchers then could've one-shot almost every vehicle with splash damage for any stragglers.

Is there a way to disable voice acting entirely? Some games have a slider for this. It's intolerable. The combination of 20 years-distilled 'tactical' non-chatter, female callouts and humiliatingly bad generic 'foreign guy' accents are making the game unpleasant to play.

Try Sound Effects Volume and Commander VO Volume in Audio settings. I actually like the tactical non-chatter and foreign accent war chatter. Cliche answer, but it makes it feel more alive. Some games have it worse than other, but Battlefield 6's chatter and commander voices are fine enough.

I hope you all are doing your part and exclusively playing the closed weapons playlist.
I see no difference.

Anyway, from my experience, playing Engineer for larger scale battles like Conquest and Breakthrough is basically having the game on auto-pilot. Camp inside the tank for cover against infantry, ride the tank to capture objectives, pop in and out for vehicle repairs, provide supporting fire inside the gunner seat. IMHO, it's more rewarding than trying to provide overwatch as Recon or run and gun as an assault.

trying to provide overwatch as Recon
I've have more success running around with a silenced SMG placing the spawn beacon in aggressive forward positions for my squad than trying to stay in the backlines going for headshots, although there's always a time to dial it back, find a defensive position, grab the ez mode DMR because you can't hit headshots worth shit, set down your spawn beacon & motion sensor, put C4 on the one entrance to your hidey hole and be a camping faggot.

What's your opinion on the shotgun?

I been killed by it probably more than any other weapon and when I used it myself it felt great to use. I think it could probably do with a higher damage drop-off at range.

The game is fun. But holy shit do they need to do something about the roof exploit niggers and the cheaters that turn around and laser you in the head even if you get the drop on them.

Being placed on a team with PlayStation retards and facing multiple squads of TTV faggots with shotguns and thermo launchers makes me want to deepthroat a shotgun irl.

And to top it off, unless it’s a vehicle map, there’s zero use for an engineer.

In older BF games you could have a particular weapon, and you could be useful by building fortifications or giving ammo.

Here, it’s a two class game on many maps. And they’ve really nerfed classes with the free weapons.

It’s way OP and I’m getting kills I shouldn’t be getting. But the real issue is that it’s an extra weapon for the Assault class.

In COD, and older BF games, there’s usually a big downside to having a shotgun. Here none exist. You can mow down your enemies, and if you get pinned down by someone 30-40 meters away, just take out your AR and now them down. Balance is shit and classes are fucked.
The TTK feels really inconsistent and bad. Up close it feels way too fast and mid range feels way too slow. It needs some tweaking for sure, but I'm worried it won't get any.
This.

It’s a weird mix of getting lasered instantly at 10-20 meters without having a chance to react, and filling someone with bullets at 35 meters for like two seconds before getting a kill.

And it also seems oddly inconsistent. Don’t know if it’s a balance/weapon issue or netcode issue.

The game is fun. But holy shit do they need to do something about the roof exploit niggers and the cheaters that turn around and laser you in the head even if you get the drop on them.
The maps are pretty shit. There are spots with all this verticality, and it’s never obvious how to get up there. Poor design, that encourages players to bunch up into these fire alleys.

I like Liberation Peak. Maybe because it reminds me of BF4 but even that one has big issues.

And yeah, the amount of cheaters IN A BETA doesn’t bode well for the future.

I know it’s just a beta, and you’ll get rando COD sweats who don’t give a f about squad play.

But most of my games I’ve been on a squad where nobody revives and everyone runs around as assault.

I fear that by working so hard to attract the COD crowd, that they’ll ruin the thing that always made BF special.

With the beta ending tomorrow, here is my opinion on the game no one asked for. Movement and aiming feel stiff to me, probably because I am below recommended requirements (I am rocking a GTX 1080 still). I think this game will have the same issues as 2042, the hit reg is bad, most game-modes have shitty objective placements, vehicles are 2042 tier, they learned nothing from the weapon attachment complaints from 2042 (I.E on the M433 there is a long suppressor that says it improves recoil, but its only adds a +1 to precision compared to nothing in that slot plus you get worse hipfire. Why would you pick this other than aesthetics?) I'm not entirely convinced you don't play with AI teammates because I have seen so many oblivious or just terrible players, its not like it 24/7 but the quality of teammates isn't like my memories from BF3/4/1s beta. I will say I think closed playlist players are better. I could go on but I don't want this to be longer than shit
Yeah.

I know it’s only a beta, but there are so many issues. Some of the stuff, like the vehicles feel like they come straight out of 2042.

The weapons and class system doesn’t really seem thought through.

It’s a game that needs another 9-12 months of development, but we all know that won’t happen.

Instead it’ll be the usual EA shit, a half assed campaign and trying to polish it a year post release, while player numbers are dropping and the diehards going: “Noooo! It’s getting GOOD! HONEST!” Sometime this time next year.

The BR will likely also be ass, though I’m prepared to be surprised. Firestorm was way better and more interesting than it got credit for.
The second DMR is pretty good :)

I mean… Black Ops 6 also has this.
Don't fault me for not playing that crap, I've been starved for something to actually utilize them, and properly. Still likely not entirely correct, I think the 'haptics' are never transferred over correctly, yet it's better than the nothing or less than that's been happening for most releases. Metro Exodus was the last title, and that was wired only and had several caveats, disabling steam input required for one.
But USB only.
Fact check false. Compatibly was wired only for the first couple years, that's not necessarily the case for what's coming out now. Has no issue over bluetooth, that's what surprised me. It just works.
The NYC map is complete ass, feels like playing Shipment in COD, can't imagine how terrible it is with open weapons.
Objectively worst matches I've had in the game so far were on this map, it's worse in it's larger form. The 10 minute close quarters mode, most similar to cod is actually decent on it with the map in it's smallest version.

Edit: Betas' gone on three hours past when it was announced to end. Don't know if it's still active, the servers seemed to be getting increasingly shit as it went on.

That's a symptom of bad netcode. On their screen they put 15 rounds into you, but on your screen they only fired 3.

Nah, Damage dropoff in BF6 is just absolutely insane.
If you don't mod your gun for extra range, for most of the guns in the beta it will literally do half damage at like 15m-20, then drop to 1/4 past that for most guns. I've found adding extra range to guns, even for SMG's and AR's is a drastic general DPS increase in majority of situations.

If there’s one thing I don’t trust EA on, it’s balance and ttk.

Remember the clusterfuck in BFV when they abruptly changed his TTK and recoil worked?

Instead of fixing it, some retard at one of the “BF studios” will likely conclude that this will encourage players for up close play and “BF moments” and not change a thing.

Tbf: I’ve seen examples online where it’s clearly a net code thing, but plenty of instances where it’s apparently not.

Am I just unlucky or is the team balancing not really good? I've had 4 conquest games that come down to less than 100 tickets over the course of both weekends. Almost every game is 300+ difference, with 500 - 600 common and I've seen as much as 816-0 final score. It's really annoying that I don't get any choice in what I want to play or who I want to play with, servers disband after every match so I can't keep playing in a good one, AND the game refuses to provide anything remotely competitive in their forced matchmaking.

Nah, Damage dropoff in BF6 is just absolutely insane.
This seems to me underdiscussed but I think it's a real critical reason so many are saying BF6 "feels like COD". The damage dropoff + bloom instead of recoil + often poor visibility while having giant spotter marks over everyone's head make most midrange gun fights feel weird. Throw in the fast health regen and taking a 40 - 50 meter gunfight becomes a total waste of time. You sprint in with the SMG or shotgun for a close range fight, or use a sniper from range, while what should be the ideal window for the ARs and the LMGs just doesn't exist.

“Noooo! It’s getting GOOD! HONEST!”
"Dude its been two years and while DICE has removed the closed weapon playlist, reworked two of the nine originally released maps, and added weird skins, the TTK is better bro trust me its good now bro"
bloom instead of recoil + often poor visibility
I also have an issue with this, I was using a scope on the LTS (i switched between the LVPO and whatever the 5x was) and anything past probably 100m was frustrating. You could literally see the bullets go around the person you were shooting at and IF you did hit them it was 17dmg, bloom is not a fun mechanic at all. With the scope it also produced a weird lighting effect where it got brighter inside a building or like near debris on Liberation Peak, Empire state is annoying because of all the smoke from the man holes or whatever produces it during the first breakthrough/rush objective
