Playing BF4 earlier this year, the little bird nerds that were racking up near triple figure kills each round with 1 or 2 deaths max was insane.
I will never forget the one time I played against an attack heli duo in BF4. The gunner+pilot scored about 200+50 kills with them being shot down twice. Total shutdown of the server.

Everyone is cheating -- you are a sucker if you aren't using these cheats. RIP Battlefield 6

The game is busted. Aimbot and wallhacks are everywhere and you are a fool for thinking otherwise. Dead genre.
I'm managing a 2k/d against cheaters in every match? I need to go pro.

Edit: Gee, why does this guy's "complaint" seem like an advertisement for cheats?

I can only recall playing against one blatant cheater so far. Fairly often I'll get to the top of the scoreboard and I'm not a particularly good player. My K/D is 1.4. So if cheating is as rampant as you say it is the cheaters must REALLY need their cheats to remain competitive. Happy for them to keep playing with their training wheels if they need them so badly.

Shitty server performance/netcode in smaller modes can make players seem like they're hacking. Seems to vary with how it connects different players and how gunfights play out. Someone destroying me, then I'm top scoring going great and they must only be destroying me based on their KD.

I would have to assume most cheaters go subtle: wallhacks/ESP, toggled aimbots on with certain weapons like snipers. I've had too many headshots as soon as there's line of sight, that certain makes me feel it resembles the wall hacks in that video.

I'm certain I've been against enemies with wall hacks in Strikepoint: Enemies prefire and track squads perfectly despite strategy changes. There's a point where it doesn't feel like the other squad is just doing better team work. They antipate and know where everyone is going, even when massively shaking up strategy.

In the larger modes, it's harder to recall names, but sometimes you will just notice someone is constantly killing you with way more kills than most other people in the game. I had an odd one earlier in breakthrough. Midway through the game I got killed a few times by someone in short succession. Check score board and they have low kills, assumed bad luck. I check score scoreboard after they've killed me a couple more times. They're now the highest on the scoreboard by a large margin. Half the time his team mates kill me, he's done damage to me.

I've been mulling over the player retention thing and was looking at past Battlefield games player count and found something. Battlefield 4's launch was notoriously horrible, with bad netcode, broken sound, getting killed after jumping into cover, ect. It wasn't until March that the game became stable, and didn't get any new maps till the China Rising DLC in Nov 2014. ( and only 2 of the 4 maps were good )

If we don't count peak players, the retention for 6 is par for the course of a "Successful" BF game. More have stuck around than after 5 or 2042. I grabbed 6 on the Christmas sale cause I really loved the Beta, but I'm gonna wait till Dice rolls out at least a patch for the last update that I heard broke it.

I'm not denying there are cheaters, but if the cheating is rampant I feel like there would be more blatant cheaters and not essentially only smart cheaters being subtle about it. I think the thing is a lot of people that throw around cheating accusations can't comprehend someone is a better at the game than them. A game I was playing the other day someone had a fairly high K/D on my team and were being accused of cheating by an enemy. The 'cheater' was being very patient waiting for revives and not skipping like most people do. I suppose they could have been cheating, but the more likely explanation for their K/D was they're a good player and patient with being revived.

Sentries and healing in TF2 are easy. Healing in BF? Nobody gives enough of a shit to sit on a support pack anyway.
Why bother sitting on the support pack when you're just going to get immediately lasered anyway? The game rewards being a mindless zombie retard, not taking advantage of your team's selfless offerings.

I've been doing a lot of Strikepoint, on some of the maps I have honed in my tactics really well. I had a round on Saints Quarter where I destroyed the other team and had the chat full of them calling me a cheater. When It was literally me just pulling out my knife, running to the point and mowing down the other team as they continuously ran the same route to the site. So I do get that people skill level and all that.

I very much notice the netcode produced advantages mis mismatches between players. I constantly have bad hit reg, receive all the damage from enemies at once. Even the dreaded my gun just doesn't fire at them, finging pressing down, nothing and they then fire at me and I die.

That said, even after I made the comment you replied to. I am one hundred percent certain I have come across a few cheaters in Strikepoint. One of them even had his teammates calling him out in the chat. All I can say is that with a very long experience of FPS playing, I can distinguish which may be the game being bullshit, being unsure and then the times where it almost certainly has to be. All while never cheating in an online FPS and being accused many times of it.

May not be rampart but it is there.

One good thing that 2042 brought to the table for Battlefield is the ability to have bots in games and still (relatively) progress. About damn time.

I don't remember how progression worked, if it was even a thing back then but the early BF games had bots.

Are you talking about Battlefield 1942, 2, or 2142? If so, then 2042 brought it back. Did older Battlefields before Bad Company have any progression system?

1942, BF2 and 2142 all had bots. I can't really remember how it all worked but I remember it was fun just fucking around in the games offline with bots.

I don't remember 1942, but BF2 had a basic progression rank system with unlocks. I assume 2142 did, but I didn't like that game much and don't really remember.

Yeah they all had bots. BF Vietnam had bots too and they were surprisingly good at flying choppers to drop troops at objectives.

Progression started with BF2 AFAIK. 1942 had fixed weapons with no choice for classes, Vietnam had a variety of weapons and cosmetics customisation for each class eg; M16 or M14 for US assault, black or white dude etc that didn't need to be unlocked.

have* it's not like the games have been destroyed or something, BF2 and BC also has a healthy-ish playerbase.

progression wise you can probably find old videos but BF2 was pretty much the standard up to 2142 so it's fairly the same except for 1942.
