Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Currently working on the Killer Bees Karnov, doing some final touches to the upper side and decided to varnish it, to later blu-tack it upside down and work a bit on the belly.

So I stick the Karnov down on a piece of cardboard, grab my trusty old rattle can of matt varnish, go out on the balcony and as I get ready to spray the mini I think to myself "huh... I thought the cap on the varnish was bro-" and then I realized that I was holding the wrong spraycan.

I almost sprayed it with Corax White. I could press coal to diamonds with my buttcheeks right now jfc.

I'll be honest, I thought Trollman's take was self-serving, and frankly he's a titanic cunt of the first order anyways.

Also, the fact that nobody even tried to oust Coleman, let alone press charges, made me suspect the issue wasn't so much embezzlement as it was accounting incompetence. Nobody fucking writes off $900k, especially not an RPG studio not named 'WotC'.

All that being said, it's very hard for me to give Coleman any credit for this. He looks like a fucking toolbox. If I'd been in his shoes, with Fanatics pushing for Pardoe's dismissal, I'd have straight up said, 'You can force this -- we can't stop you -- but I will put the fucking hat on you over it.'

Well there is an update. Porchman removed his facebook post.

So Jay just fucking went nuclear and purged his "Girlfriends" sock account and every single picture they where using.

Could be he's catching enough flak for his shenanigans that he's uncomfortable.

Or, he's taking a 'mission accomplished' lap,

Its Faith McClosky's blog post. Last night they purged all of fake pictures and deleted her sock account that was pretending to be her lesbian goth ex military girlfriend.
Thanks and now that I have that crucial bit of information, I want to express my deep wish that this person dies a slow and horrible death, preferably in a housefire.

I’m trying to get feedback on my new alpha strike list after my previous one got raped by this ridiculous thing someone did with Jade Falcon shit and emp guns. As a frame of reference the local rules are 250 points max and you can bring the skill up to 2 on 2 mechs and the inverse for 2.

1. Dire Wolf Prime. Has overheat long and can overheat to shutdown for 8 shots long and 10 med/short if I really need something dead or running.

2. Timber Wolf Prime. Everyone knows how these work. I’m not 100 percent on this but it’s reasonably tanky while being mobile with good firepower.

3. Archer 5CS. 4/6/5 with IF4 and I brought his skill down to 2. This will probably be fun if I keep him hidden and use the relative mobility of the timberwolf and my last two mechs to give him spotters.

4. Shadow Cat A. Mobile and has PRB for initiative help. Not sure it JMPW1 was the one that buffed or nerfed jumps.

5. Mist Lynx B. Similar to the shadowcat but more hits med and short and srm2/2.

Does this seem servicable, and if not what would you change?

I pretty new to BT as a 40k refugee, and I'm pissed that my hobbies get ruined by these weirdos. That said, there is hope as BT fans are not as hopelessly tied to the parent company like 40k fans are to GW. As such, this is my thoughts on what needs to happen.

Boycotts don't work. The whales will keep the company afloat, and Blaine himself said in the Razorfist interview that we all say we won't buy, and then the new products come out, and then people cave and get that new shiny box set. So there is really no point in a boycott. That said, raising a bunch of apolitical support for Blaine will go a long way. If Blaine was telling the truth about his lawsuits against his stalker, he needs to hit as hard as he fucking can and make an example out of this terminally online weirdo. And it can't be a "the woke mob is trampling me" argument (even though that's what it is) because then that just polarizes people into Anti-Woke and the Sick of Anti-Woke mobs, who then fight themselves and shit up the fandom, while the people who make these problems go unaddressed.

Which leads into the other aspect of community change. There needs to be a mantra of "When at the table, shut up." This applies to all politics, and we righties have to be the first to do it (coughcough Mage Leader). When spergs start bringing political takes into the hobby, people get pissed off and then it leads to drama, which leads to autistic grudge holding that boils into instances like BLP getting harassed by his stalker. If this had been met with "stop shitting things up, you weirdo" this might have been avoided. Tex knows this, which is why he keeps his politics a little closer to the chest, and you actually have to go looking for them. If we can drill it into the heads of a few autists to just shut up at the table and play the game, I think that the worst of the drama that plagues these communities might pass over BT. I hope that Pardoe gets back into writing for BT, but ultimately that's up to him and catalyst and how they move forwards. The best the average hobbyist can do is make sure their communities adopt a policy of silence.

Well you could stop being a stupid fucking Clanner for starters. If you want actual advice, Clan mechs suffer in AS if you don't bring Elementals. At my local game group, the only time I have ever seen clans win against inner sphere is with Elementals, and they did so handily. I didn' t play the game, but tl;dr the Elementals can get up close and felt a mech by doing auto heat damage, and doing an auto crit to the mechs. They can be countered by having your mechs cover each other, but that limits your fire power, and numbers, which is what clans want.

Whales could keep shit like Magic the Gathering up but they won't keep Battletech up
