According to the artist, the moment he showed the hat edit to his friends one of them volunteered to pay for colors. And you know what, this might be simple but I'm digging the color scheme.

So here we are. The shitpost is complete. I would like to thank the artist (who I suspect would rather not be associated with Kiwifarms and so shall remain anonymous) and the friend who pitched in for the colors (same).

ETA: I just realized he drew the thurible with a sunken, crumpled bit on the main body. Guess that thing either also doubles as a mace, or a Locust came too close during mass.

You could always have a narrow tabard instead of the Papal Vestments down the middle between the lasers, collar between the missiles and autocannon and fitting just under the laser cigar. Would be more appropriate for a knightly mount like this. Alternatively a not-quite-a-loincloth dangling from the waist as a crotch banner.

The first image shows recently built mechs that haven't even yet been painted leading a sortie out of the factory gates, the second one is a mech in the McCarron's Armored Cavalry, but I was wondering if there is other instances of units sending out their stompy robots shiny and chrome?

Seriously, though: camo doesn't have any effect game-wise, but going around all shiny and chrome is a Mordian-tier "fear our confidence!" ploy that doesn't usually work.

You're more likely to see it in Aerospace fighters, actually. Less need for camo when your burns can be seen from the other side of the planet.

Canonicity really doesn't matter so long as you're not doing silly shit like Hello Kitty camo designs. Even if you come up with a look that matches no unit ever described in the game (and with how garish some of them are, that's a tall order), you can always either make them a mercenary unit, an experimental unit, a special detachment of an existing unit that gets to wear different camo, or simply a standard unit that's using a different paintjob for practical reasons.

To use your Shiny & Chrome idea as an example: say you're operating in a desert environment, or operating in a near-airless moon that heats up to boiling temperatures in the sun. The shiny paintjob helps reflect some of the heat. Oh, your unit is now operating in a jungle? Just say they either didn't have time to repaint, or liked the shiny look so much they decided to stick with it for as long as the brass allowed them.

tl; dr: Warhammer doesn't have a monopoly on Your Guys. You do you, no one is going to sperg about it.

McCarron's Armored Cavalry are exactly what you want. They have the whole "Knight in Shining Armor" motif going. Just look at this logo:

That's their pre-3063 logo, and is about as "Praise the Sun!" as you can get in BT.
Hell, this is what their 5th Regiment has as their logo.

Its all pretty awesome stuff, really. 1st Regiment are the Nightriders with a fire-breathing black horse, the 2nd are the Angel's Regiment with an insignia that wouldn't look out of place among 40k's Dark Angels
And here's the third, which is about as Space German as you can get without becoming LoGH:

Sadly they're a Cappie unit with a hate boner for the Davions and Dragoons, but otherwise they're pretty sweet. Notorious for their effective use of brute force.

Appearantly she decided it was a good idea to let loose Death threats to Blaine Lee Paurdo because the guy is a righty tighty. BlP filed a restraining order against her and i'm guessing CGL doesn't want anything to do with her. But shes followed by some other prominent people in the BT Community.

BlP filed a restraining order against her and i'm guessing CGL doesn't want anything to do with her. But shes followed by some other prominent people in the BT Community.

If you’re willing to dip your toes into Clanner turf, there are some really wild camp schemes, especially from Clan Nova Cat.

As a Jade Falcon player, I really like the old look of their elite unit since every mech is Painted up to look like a falcon.

The other option is to homebrew a Solaris VII stable. You can explain away almost anything buy saying it’s for Solaris VII. I did a couple of ‘Gimmick’ mechs meant for Solaris.

Is the boost to the to-hit number on short ranges worth the worse range, especially given that the maximum range of pulse lasers is equal to the medium range of non-pulse lasers and thus at (say) a range of 6, the medium pulse laser has the same to-hit as the medium laser, but the medium still has its long-range bracket to spare?

I guess it all comes down to engagement ranges, but I feel like any mech that isn't tailor made to be an urban brawler that gets up in the enemy's face, a regular medium laser is a better choice.

How often are you hitting on a +4 though? Pulses are worth it for the mediums , and occasionally for the large. Smalls are always worth it in my opinion as a replacement for a pair of machine guns and ammo. Hotter, yes, but not explosive and it has the negative to hit in the same range.
