The most basic way of playing tabletop is a good old fashioned deathmatch, but it gets old quick and it's always nice to have different objectives to spice up gameplay. Especially when someone skirts around your own mechs and avoids combat once he's in a weaker position, it's nice to have an objective that forces the player to make a stand, even if he's at a disadvantage.
Protecting a convoy, attacking a base, holding ground, king of the hill or maybe even something like capture the flag comes to mind.
So, what's everyone's favorite 'mission type' in tabletop? And how do you play longer campaigns?
I've not yet gotten myself into the respective rulebooks, so I was looking for recommendations and first hand experience. Looking through some sourcebooks with different scenarios shows that there's a plethora of pretty sweet stuff, so what's your favorite mission that gets people fighting?
